Please report here any bugs encountered on the forum!
In particular, the current forum theme / skin was designed for a somewhat older version of the forum software. While I think I've squashed the major bugs, there's likely many little ones lurking about.
Also accepting feature requests, primarily of the small, theme-tweaking variety. However, log all requests here, and if I'm aware off the top of my head of an easy way to fulfill a request, and Darrin & Smiles think it's a good idea, we'll look into doing it.
EDIT: Grammar
-
Ah, that explains some of it.
I'm seeing contrast issues in multiple places. Black on dark, white on light, text entry boxes with the same background color as the surrounding block, and a possible need for a border on multiple elements like the division between user info and post content. <--- | --->
And as I said in the other place, quick reply doesn't seem to work.
-
I also can not get quick reply to work.
Would it be easier in the long run if we had a new theme instead of always trying to patch up the old one?
-
Eeh, that's an open question. I'm certainly going to be more effective at patching up a broken theme that looks roughly how you want, than trying to visually redesign a theme that's otherwise working well.
Keep searching for SMF themes that you like the look of; this time round I should be able to let you know whether they were designed with SMF 2.0.x in mind before installation ;)
-
As I previously suggested, a paid theme may be a smart move, though I got one of the free themes by a paid theme company. http://demo.dzinerstudio.com/ If you use the 2.0 dropdown you can demo a wide range of themes, and they should all fully support 2.0.11 -- Premium means you'll have to pay a little bit of money for it, but if it's truly what you want, then at least you won't end up in the pitfall of not being able to try before you buy like I did. And remember that basic style things like the width of the page can be edited easily enough. Graphics are a much tougher matter, but some can be pieced together with some basic image editing.
Edit: "Express" looks semi-close to this current theme and could likely be tweaked fairly easily to be something you want. I also liked "Chalk" but I forsee a lot of customization issues with that theme in spite of it being an attractive default look.
-
Quick reply toggle is still broken, but for now I've made it visible by default.
-
Quick reply now works.
-
I don't know if this is a bug so it might just be me, but I was wondering what causes this... http://oi66.tinypic.com/w1tvty.jpg

That is weird. I don't see that. Browser maybe?

Oh my! Those are meant to be english words. They're in a different font from the rest of the site, so that may be the culprit.
Can you let me know the name and version of your:
- Web Browser (Chrome, Firefox, IE/Edge, etc)
- Operating System (Windows Vista/7/8/10, OS X, *nix, etc)
-
I'm using Firefox, latest version; Windows 7. :)
-
Perplexing indeed!
Right-click one of the garbled links and click "Inspect Element". A new pane should open at the bottom of the screen; on the right should be a block of CSS code along the lines of:
td.topnavtxt a {
display: block;
float: left;
margin: 0;
padding: 0 0.5em;
font-family: ‘Palatino Linotype’,‘Book Antiqua’,Palatino,serif;
...
Hover over "font-family: ..." to reveal a little black checkmark to its left. Uncheck it.
The text should alter shape; does it also become legible?
-
(Repost cuz Darrin made me do it :P)
I got another suggestion, don't know if it's just me that is a bit put off by this, but
(http://imgur.com/qubXeXg.png)
Is all that stuff really necessary up there? I mean, if I get a PM, don't I get a little "1" that pops up above the profile tab?
Total time logged in is kinda cool, but wouldn't that be better suited in your profile info, to see when you want to see it? Rather than all the time?
The last two are pretty cool, I recall PSF 1 had a small side tab called Participation or something that showed you if any posts you replied in had new messages, so that's pretty cool.
And then there's those little drop down folders, aesthetically speaking the page would look better without them there. It just kinda, clutters up the page with something that isn't necessary to be there. I mean, maybe if it showed up like, horizontally instead of vertically and took up less room it would be alright, but for some reason, them being vertical like that... I don't know, it just doesn't look nice to me.
I hope I'm not coming off as a whiny bitch, I really do appreciate everything you 3 have done to make the site what it is. Just kinda, uh, throwing in my 2 cents. I hope I didn't come off as rude...
-
I got another suggestion, don't know if it's just me that is a bit put off by this, but...
<snip>
I hope I didn't come off as rude...
Not at all rude! Don't sweat it, I'm not very highly strung ;)
Those are just theme defaults anyway. I agree that the tree structure is antiquated. If Darrin/Smiles agree, I'll see about converting that to a flat list. And ditching the time logged in.
The "Hey, <username>" bit serves to quickly flag that you're logged in, so that needs to stay imo. Given that line's already there, I'm personally split on whether the personal messages bit should stay or go, and would welcome more feedback.
-
I'll try it out now and see if it works. :3 My apologies for the late reply, had to take our pet cat to the vet. ^^
Edit: It worked, thank you so much! :3 The only downside is that they can't be saved unless (from what I found out on another website), I'd have to write my own CSS or whatever for it. :(
-

Haha, no, I just meant for you to test whether the font was screwing it up, and it appears that it was. Then I can work out a persistent fix.
I just realized that I might be able to embed arbitrary fonts into these posts; though I'm not sure whether multi-word typefaces work properly, I think this way is worth a shot.
Which, if any, of the following render as garbage for you?:
Palatino Linotype
Book Antiqua
Palatino
Serif
-
In other news, I've increased the avatar size limit to 120x120px. To take advantage of this, you'll need to re-upload your avatar (unless it's hosted on an external site).
I'm open to suggestions that the limit should be larger still, though such suggestions should be reasoned or give examples.
-

Ah okay, sorry about that hehe. ^^ It looks like it's Palatino, the third one.
-
Ah okay, sorry about that hehe. ^^ It looks like it's Palatino, the third one.
Drats. That one's meant to be pretty safe :(
For now I've changed the font-family to the exceedingly conservative value of "serif". It won't be as pretty, but usability is more important.
-
Hm, maybe if I download/install the font? :3 I have it installed now, maybe that'll help out.
-
Random and no big deal, but our mini profiles, is there a way for it to show members gender?
-
This is not any deal breaker or even that important. But I was looking at a topic by Paws, and wanted to give it a "thumbs up" like on PSF 1.0. Is there any star, fav, thumbs up feature? I also don't want to clutter the posting area.
-
To go with what Raine said, maybe the gender icon could go in place of that ribbon that shows up next to the PM option. When I scroll over the ribbon it says "online" so I'm guessing it shows your online status. But then, that's a bit redundant, since above the avatar there's a little mini computer that shows whether someone is online or not.
-
Hm, maybe if I download/install the font? :3 I have it installed now, maybe that'll help out.
If it's not installed, it should fall back to the next font defined, which would have been serif anyway. You can test in the same way as before, but instead of unchecking the check box, double-click the current value of font-family ("serif") and alter it to "Palatino, serif".

The scroll /is/ the link to quick-PM that member, as far as I can see.
There is an option to display gender on all posts, but it's much harder to add additional genders. Out of respect for those with non-binary identities, I felt it was best to not plaster the gender icons on every thread.

What was the effect of that feature? Is it along the lines of the "Notify" button (top & bottom right of the thread), where you are notified of new replies? If instead it was some Facebook-style "Like" feature, that just registers approval, there is none in SMF that I'm aware of.
-
The "Thumbs up" was a feature similar to Facebook. It had no effect other then knowing if people liked something or not.
-

I'm all for the genders being shown though. If someone chooses not to pick one, it doesn't need to appear. It only has to show up if someone chooses too.
As for the thumbs up thing, it's all good if SMF does not have something for that. It was just a quirk I happened to get used too on PSF 1.0. Thank you for the hard work.
-
Sorry, one last thing I can think of >_<
Is there a way to multi-quote? As in quote multiple different people in one post?
-
Hm. I think there should be, but it's not available on this theme. Might be easy to port; I'll look into it!
-
I can confirm the site works on Safari with an Apple.
-
Eh, it varies. Some posts get cut off. And I can't see a whole comment. For the most part though, it works. Heck, most of my comments are made from mobile XD
But yeah, it is possible to multi quote. You just need to put more effort. Like click quote, then if you want to quote someone else you have to do it in another page and then copy paste the [quote.] [/quote.] in for to the first comment before posting it.
It was the same way in PSF 1.0. Although personally, I don't see a poin in quoting unless you're responding only to a select part of someone's message. If you're replying in general to their comment there's no need to quote, since the person is going to check the thread when they see it's been updated.
That's just me though.
-
I'm running Safari on an Apple that isn't the most recent. I am on OS X 10.9.3. Everything is running nicely for me, but every once in awhile, and icon/image on the site won't appear. It is very rarely and it seems to happen at random. Not sure why that is, but it doesn't bug me.
-
It would be cool to implement likes so that they effect a members karma.... actually, you know what, I don't think I care about that.
I guess it would just be cool for members to gain experience and maybe goofy little meaningless badges the longer they are here, post, and maybe get up votes on posts.
-
right now everything is lookin good
-
I know there is a lot more to work on first, but does this site from SMF have a mobile version of this site?
-
Yeah I wanted to ask about that too. I was looking on here last night from my phone and when I first saw Soda's secret santa gift to me, like half the page was cut off, text, image, and all.
-
^ Same, it only happens in some threads though. It's weird.
-
I think it depends on if the image is too big
-

There is a karma subsystem that can be enabled. I don't know anything about it, but presumably it may work sort of like that? It could be investigated if this is a popular request.
I know there is a lot more to work on first, but does this site from SMF have a mobile version of this site?
Nope. v2.0 (which we're on) went stable in ~08, before there was a huge smart phone market. It may be that v2.1 improves in this area, but it's still only in beta (and moving fairly slowly).
-
I will look into the Karma thing. We kept away from that in 1.0, but if it is something people really want, we can do a test run. I got that Yasl. ;) You take a break, hun.
-
Instead of just posting a Youtube or Vimeo link, is there a way for the video link to appear as a video box to play the video?
-

I've just installed a mod that purports to let you do this with [youtube] [/youtube] and [vimeo] [/vimeo] BBCode tags. Feel free to test on this thread.
-
Oh sweet!
TEST.
Not a valid vimeo URL
They work for both hosting sites!
-
Oh, and in other news, I discovered how to tweak the php.ini config, so now it should be possible to upload attachments of up to 10MB (though, I've not yet tested it).

Hey that is awesome. What is the site's storage limit?
-
Err, "unlimited", but I'd take that with a grain of salt.
In practice, I should think it's at least a few dozen gigabytes or so.

Does the site have a storage repository for images and stories? So if I upload an image using this site's attachments section, are those images saved in a gallery or something?
-
KITTEH
-
Does the site have a storage repository for images and stories? So if I upload an image using this site's attachments section, are those images saved in a gallery or something?
No, they're just stored as an opaque attachment.
An admin could download them all in bulk and upload them somewhere else, but there's nothing automatic.
-
I like how the very first videos posted here are kitten videos.
-
Well of course, it's Grapefoot. It even says in his profile he loves kitties XP
-
Kitties are life
-

I never knew this side of Grapefoot at PSF 1.0. ;)
-
Where are you guys? While the forum was inactive, this new member from Russia started randomly posting links to pointless websites (in Russian) all over the place!
http://psfforum.com/index.php?action=profile;area=showposts;u=38
EDIT: They've been deleted.
-
And their /22 banned, which may or may not keep them away.
I added a couple of specific-knowledge questions to the signup form. If we still get spammed, we'll have to switch to admin-approved signups.
-
Wait what? What happened?
-
There was a russian guy in and just spamming links
-
Yes, just like I said, and I don't know why anyone would come here just to post random links.
Is going to random places to post random links common? :D
-
Yep, pretty common. An accumulation of them can be a sign that a community has been abandoned, because usually they get cleaned up within a few hours.
And, well, not "a guy" but "a bot". Automated on the cheap. If a few people out of millions follow the links, they're in the black.
-
We might up the password security if this happens more.
-
Is there a default program that will resize images we upload on the size to a "forum" sized image?
-
Yeah. I wonder that same thing. Having some of the text we write get cut off is annoying. We can't even scroll to the side to see it.
-
Yeah. I wonder that same thing. Having some of the text we write get cut off is annoying. We can't even scroll to the side to see it.
Thank goodness, I'm not the only one with this problem...
-
What problem? I only have the problem of text being cut off when I'm on mobile. Not when on desktop. I wonder what causes some pages to do that and some not, because not all of them do that when I'm on mobile.
-
If the image is too big even for the nonmobile site, it can get cut off
-
I just experienced that. I see what people mean now.
-
Oh yeah, I think I experienced that too.
-
Maybe it is just be, but if a topic has multiple pages, I noticed this forum takes you to the first page still. Is there a way to make it take you by default to the latest page? It is no big deal if that is not a thing.
-
Really? It takes me to the last page. You have to click the 'new' button, or click the last page under the title of the thread before you click the thread to open it.
I was surprised one time when I left my computer and the PSF chat continued without me, when I clicked refresh it took me to the latest page. It was pretty cool.
-
I think it might take you to the last page you visited, possibly?
-
I think it also happens to me when someone posts a link long enough to go off-screen.
(Btw, I'm on mobile.)
-
Is there a default program that will resize images we upload on the size to a "forum" sized image?
I'm supporting this.
-
Me as well
-
In other news, yasl's a dunce and managed to leave the site 500'ing for the better part of an hour. (All the RAM was being eaten by FastCGI processes; whoops.)
:(
-
I was freaking out. I was like "No! Not again!"
*War flashbacks intensify*
-
Whew.
-
Did the site go down for a bit or something?
-
It did for a few minutes. But they cleared it up, was just a mistake.
-
Any update on possibly having a program automatically resize images we post?
-
that would be quite handy
-
Or maybe having the thread just keep the image within it's barriers. Or at least have a side scroller.
-
I am on mobile and trod to comment on a page that had a large picture. I could not post because the picture stretched the page over and we can not scroll right or left. We need this fixed.
-
^
-

Just keep pressing space bar until it moves the screen over. Then zoom out. You're able to comment. And even scroll up and see what others have said. Still only half their comment, but the later half.
I kinda had to figure that out since 95% of my comments are from mobile.
-
We are working for a solution.
-
Cool :D
We know you guys work really hard to make this the best it can be. And we really appreciate it.
-
We have faith in you developers
-
If you add: width=... height=...
When posting a picture it'll change the size, just takes a little knowledge in coding is all ^^
-
Not the best coder
-
I really hope there is a solution to the pictures.
-
same here
-
There is. You just have to put in the height and width. One doesn't need to be like, amazing at coding to put in size ratios. I think even DA gives them to you. Or we could just, you know, link to the images instead.
-
Seems like too much of a hassle to go through just to post a pic on a board
-
It's not that hard...
And even if it is too much work to type in, just post a link.
-
Thats what I do anyway
-
Yea, maybe we'll just have to keep doing that until we find a solution so that any picture posted fits inside.
-
Sounds like a plan to me
-
Great :)
-
We are having a hard time find something to work.
Meanwhile Yasl is dealing with more important issues at sneezefurs. Sorry about the inconvience.
-
It's understandable.
-
Good
-
Yes, focus on that first. Hope they get it solved.
-
So we pretty much got a solution for the images that are too big. But what about text posts for mobile? I'm on my phone right now and a good portion of rivers story I can't read because it's cut off on the right. I couldn't even put a comment in there because the post button is so far to the right, it's off screen.
-
What you do it just press space over and over again until the post button appears.
-

If you want to read them, I also posted links, and they're all the way on the left side, you can click and read them there ^^
-
Uh, something weird is happening...
I was trying to change the font size of a few words in a comment I was typing... When I posted it, the text was back to normal size. :o I tried to edit it many times, but it just won't work.
-
Did you use the right size mechanics?
That's like super weird!
-
Yes, I did. Once. Twice. Thrice. It would NOT work at all. :(
-
And what's even weirder is that I just tried it on another comment of mine, and it worked.
I don't get it.
-
Must be a bug
-
It's my latest comment on that "Pick Your Poison" thread you made that has this bug. Y'know, "Wrong is wrong"... I tried to shrink it, but I had to resolve to italics. :-\
EDIT: I tried again. It still doesn't work. >:( Oh well, I just hope this won't happen with other posts in the future.
-
How exactly are you doing it?
Perhaps you're trying to make it too small.
-
Well, by selecting the text I needed to shrink and clicking "Font Size", then "10pt". Didn't work, so I tried typing [ size=10pt ] and [ /size ] (without the spaces) myself. Didn't work either. And it certainly isn't too small, since it's an option, and I've done it many times before.
-
Hm odd. Might just be your one comment.
Wait no, I think 10pt is the normal size font, which is why it looks like it's not changing.
-
I said I've done it many times before and it worked. The normal font size is 16pt.
(I had to edit this post many times to find what the normal size really was. XD)
-
Oh. Hm, alright. Sorry.
-
Whoa, n-nice pic. :o
-
Always watching.
-
So, scrolling despite margin overflow should now work. Though, in the end all I did was remove one "overflow: hidden" CSS directive. I don't actually know why the original author of this theme put it there, so I might well have just broken something else about the layout. Keep an eye out for any new weirdness.
I don't think that programmatically resizing images will achieve a great deal, since it's reasonable that people may want to post images larger than phone width, making it pretty tough to pick a single maximum size to enforce.
-
Some places have a "message board" size, kind of a default size, for images.
I will keep an eye open for any weird flaws that may have sprung up. Thanks for allowing the scrolling.
-
Thank you, Yasl for the feedback back.
-
np. Sorry for the radio silence.
Some places have a "message board" size, kind of a default size, for images.
Yeah, I couldn't find such a setting. Though, a few things I found on Google alluded to one, so I might be missing something obvious.
Anyway, if a universally-agreeable maximum width and height were found, I'd probably just implement them as "max-width' and 'max-height' CSS attributes on the '.bbc_img' class of the theme, and call it a day.
-
Sweet.
I've noticed on phone though the screen is still really wide when it's pushed out. I have to zoom completely out too read comments. But at least they're not cut off anymore.
-
Yeah I have to agree it's still wide but I use screen rotate on my tablet so it fits.
-
Forum size is like 640x something... I will look.
-
640 by 480?
-
Small size
-
Is it really though?
It's pretty decent sized.
It just gets annoying now with the super stretched borders when someone makes a wide comment. It's just a bit hard to look at.
-
640 by 480?
An image hosting service uses this as the default size for image posting on a message board.
Note that more and more people are getting bigger computer monitors with new computers. This site is not mobile friendly.
-
No its not. Hopefully that can be helped. The old ones mobile form was very user friendly.
-
We did have a benefit with Proboards always updating their stuff. This place won't.
-
Actually I'd say this is pretty mobile friendly.
Have you seen how bad and not mobile friendly some sites are?
While it's not blocky and super neat and unscrollable like some mobile friendly sites are, the way this is is fine.
I actually prefer being able to move the page around and zoom in and zoom out.
On mobile friendly sites (ex DA) you can't zoom in and out. Hence why I switch to desktop site to do my thing there.
-
thats true. It'll just take some getting used to
-
It just takes getting used to, yeah.
I'm on mobile 90% of the time, lol.
-
most of the time I'm on my laptop so I don't worry about it as much
-
I've noticed now if the page is extended there is now a scroll bar. That's pretty cool.
Thanks guys :)
-
Alright for scroll!
-
Sites been pretty flawless lately. Thank you guys.
-
Is the "Buddies" thing new on this forum?
-
No it's been there since the start lol.
When I first made my account here I made Blurr and Miggs my buddies ^^
-
What does it do? Does it notify you if a buddy posts?
-
It bolds their name when they're online. That's it basically haha.
-
So I just realized how convenient this would be when I was going through one of the really long RP's. It'd be nice to have like, a "next" and "previous" button. I don't know, I feel like it would be pretty handy to have, so when you're going through many pages of a thread you don't have to keep clicking the next number. And it gets kind of annoying after several pages because after a certain number the next number to click is on a different row, and it's a small thing, but yeah. It would be nice to have. Don't know if putting that function in would be super difficult, but I just wanted to throw it out there.
-
SHAZAM!
(Draft version; spent very little time on it; bug reports welcome; edge case failures quite likely.)
-
Oooh, nice and shizzy! It fits the layout, being little arrow things. I've tried them out and they work fine on this page. I'll let you know if there's any issues or anything.
-
Oh okay, I think I found something a bit wonky. The little forward arrow shows up when you're looking at a board and all the threads. There's the double arrows, which have been there before, but like seen here http://imgur.com/7LwQtht there's an extra arrow. I don't think that's supposed to be there...
-
Good idea by the way, LP. :)
-
Say... right under the PSF banner, wasn't there a link leading to the chat? It's gone. :o
-
Say... right under the PSF banner, wasn't there a link leading to the chat? It's gone. :o
Oh yeah... the chat. Lol! Hmmm. It has been noted and will be looked into.
-
The chat itself still works, but there is no link here. That's the only problem.
And come on, the chat isn't that forgotten. XD
-
I forgot about the chat. We need to plan tomes to meet there.
-
Yeah, the times we did chat there were pretty fun :)
-

Applied a quick fix. Hopefully won't have broken it elsewhere.
Also, Chat link was my derp. Resolved.
-
All right. ;)
-
Yeah, it looks good now! Thanks Yasl, always so quick to implement things we suggest haha.
-
So far, they've all been 20 minute tweaks, so I've been able to squeeze them in without much hassle ;)
-
Wow, that's pretty impressive. In both ways. That you get them done so fast, and that coding little arrows takes 20 minutes! That's crazy.
-
Thank you Yasl.
-
Hey Yasl, sorry to bug you again so soon, but myself and a few others have noticed something a bit off about the avatars. You can't upload a gif to be an avatar. Like, if you have the gif saved on your device and try to upload it, it won't work. You have to upload the gif to an image uploading site (like imgur) and then use the "link avatar" function to actually make the gif work. Is that a bug or something? Is it possible to be able to upload gif avatars, or can the site not support that?
-
I noticed that too.
-
Is there a way to link directly to a post?
-
Yeah there is. You gotta right click on the "Re:Topic Post" of the post you're trying to directly link and copy the link. Each link is different when you do it for different posts so I assume that's a link to a direct post.
-
Is there a way to link directly to a post?
Also if you click on the "piece of paper" icon, next to the title of your post, it gives you the direct post link.
-
Oh so that's what that's for.
-
All good to know, thanks guys.
-

Ah, okay, that's apparently intended behavior. Specifically, it's meant to be a security feature. The forum re-encodes uploaded avatars by default but, due to a limitation in either the image library or the forum's use of it, doing so drops all but the first frame of animated GIFs (they're all munged into PNGs).
I expect the feature is designed primarily to prevent a scenario whereby a piece of Javascript (or perhaps some malicious executable) is uploaded and later executed in the context of the site, since the browser can't distinguish it from any other asset the site may serve. This could let the malicious actor steal session cookies (& thus your account) or what-have-you.
The safest way to solve this problem is to place all user-uploaded content on its own domain, hence you get "googleusercontent.com" and "derpicdn.net". The alternative is to make sure to only serve the images with an image-y MIME type, so the browser doesn't treat them as anything else. Alas, there is a long history of browser bugs and quirks that make this method exploitable, and it tends to be more fragile.
However, since uploaded avatars and attachments are not directly accessible as files on the website, but served up through the forum software, I'm going to assume (1) the forum software is sensible and only serves avatars with image-y MIME types, (2) browsers have sorted out the majority of such bugs, and (3) attachments could probably be exploited the same way and yet aren't re-encoded. And as such I've turned the re-encoding feature off.
Uh, let me know if it still doesn't work...
-
Yeah I tried uploading a gif as my avatar just now from my gallery. Didn't work.
It's alright, I mean. It's not like we can't have a gif as an avatar. We can still have one, we just have to do it a different way.
-
Ah, it was probably larger than 120x120px and hence was resized... leading to the exact same issue. Do smaller ones work? (I don't have any to hand.)
-
Uh.... I could try again. I think I have a small gif.
-
Nope. Still doesn't work.
-
:(
Can you attach the one you tried, or link to it for me? I'll play around with a few more things.
-
Well you said to try a smaller one, so I tried a smaller gif from my saved gifs and it didn't work. Do you want me to link the smaller one or the bigger one I'm using now?
-
Smaller one.
-
Alright. Here: http://imgur.com/kZHRMHG

About the chat... some users are annoyed that when they spend just a few minutes out of the chat room, they get automatically logged out. Is there any way to fix this, or is the AJAX chat made like this?
-
If you are inactive and don't move, it kicks you out.
-
But like, it does it after like, 3 minutes. Sometimes less.
-
We can look into it.
-
Noted.
Um, no guarantees on turnaround time, though.
EDIT: There was a config parameter called "inactiveTimeout". I have judiciously changed it from 2 to 20 minutes. If this turns out to have no effect, I'll look into it more closely. Um, sometime.
-
Oh sweet, that's awesome. Thanks Yasl.
-
I will test it out now.
-
Just saying this to reassure you: that "change from 2 to 20 minutes" worked. Thanks. ;)
-
\o/
-
Indeed it did work thank you.

All beyond me, but I know that is a good thing.
-
Can anyone else access SneezeFurs or is the site not working?
-
Wow, again? Damn, was it something with the administrators or something again?
-
It works for me. ???
-
It works now.
-
Works. <---Realizes this was a pointless response to something already answered.
-
Very minor, but NEW topics stay new for too long. Might want to reduce their new time to a few days.
-
I will fix that.
-
I thought whether a topic was new or not depended if you looked at the recent comments on it.
Like, a topic becomes new again when somebody makes a new comment and you haven't seen it.
-
I thought whether a topic was new or not depended if you looked at the recent comments on it.
Like, a topic becomes new again when somebody makes a new comment and you haven't seen it.
There is also an option in the admin menu as to how long a topic can "stay new." So I am not sure how it all works out, but hopefully it will be good now.
-
Oh okay. Interesting.
-
Thanks.
-
Everybody might have a different timezone like me I'm in the UK.
-
No, no, but like, the amount of time that has passed since a post has been made should be relatively the same. It's probably counted in days not just hours.
-
A topic, also called a thread, is given a certain amount of default time on the forum that it has an icon beside it that says, "new." The plan is to reduce the "new" icon's amount of time it stays beside a topic.
-
Ah okay i understand i don't normally take notice of these things.
-
Some images are loading larger then the limit is for the site. Not sure if it is my internet browser or the site.
An example are the images I posted on the topic, "Applejac's Day Off." Page 2.
-
I noticed that too. I thought all images were supposed to be resized to a small size.
-
Odd. I don't have an answer, actually. I will try and figure it out.
-
I've smacked on a 2-second CSS fix that should force images in posts to be scaled to be smaller than the viewport.
Just letting you know in case I've accidentally broken images somewhere, or something else unpleasant.
-
Thanks again, Yasl. Always on top of things for us :)
-
Just letting you know in case I've accidentally broken images somewhere, or something else unpleasant.
Very reassuring. Lol! Thanks.
-
Didn't seem to work, but it seriously isn't a big deal. It's only on that one page, MasterXtreme mentioned.
-
Maybe if he goes back and edits his post and relinks the images they'll shrink down?
-
I think this is a non issue that we are still talking about. ;)
-
There are anomalies sometimes.
-
New images are reduced to the correct size when posted now.
-
Usually I get email notifications whenever I get a private message or someone starts a new topic but recently I haven't been getting any emails. Is that my account bugging out or is it something else?
-
Usually I get email notifications whenever I get a private message or someone starts a new topic but recently I haven't been getting any emails. Is that my account bugging out or is it something else?
I'm not sure. Check your setting to make sure they didn't just randomly turn off so some reason. Let me know.
-
I did check. It's set to send emails. I don't know what's up
-
I had the same issue. I had to de-check then re-check them and it seemed to work. I also limited what emails were sent to me, so for example, for it just to email me when a certain topic I follow was posted in, or if I got a PM.
-
Haha, you guys wanting email notifications, I've been trying since the beginning to make them stop.
Even when I say no emails it still emails me when I get a PM.
-
That is funky.
-
We will manually try and fix it if you give me permission too. Yes or no.
-
The email issue? I'd like to stop getting emails when I get PM's, so that's okay :)
-
Blurr, you currently have it set only to be notified to one board on the forum.
I think I fixed your notification issue, LP. Maybe...
To get notifications on PM's, the settings are located in the "Messages" tab.
-
I still get notifications thankfully.
-
If those issues were resolved, let me know.
-
Thanks, Smiles.
-
So since no one responded, I assume everything works?
-
Actually I was about to comment. My end wasn't fixed. I still get emails when I get PM's.
-
Actually I was about to comment. My end wasn't fixed. I still get emails when I get PM's.
Poops... Let me try one more thing.
-
Okay, go to your MESSAGES page, and click "preferences." From there you should be able to manually choose to not receive emails from PM's. I can't access your private message box to do that.
-
Alright I'll try that.
-
Let me know if it works. :)
-
Whoa. It looks like it went back to 1995. :o
EDIT: This was in response to a post made by Sparky7. I wonder why he deleted it.
-
Okay, I just tried on my comp, and it seems to change to that weird layout at random. No matter which color/style you choose, if it turns to... THAT, it then works correctly when you try again.
Note: it doesn't do this on mobile.
-
Hello i noticed the chat does this to me when i change to style.
I will go check.
-
That would be a browser issue with you computer most likely being out of date. So update the browser. If that doesn't work, just blame your computer.
I tried changing the style (which I didn't know existed) and it seems to work fluidly on Safari.
http://i68.tinypic.com/iembeb.jpg
-
Have you tried all of them?
-
I just chose a few of them. I can go see them all.
-
Okay, they all work as they should. It appears Sparky's browser is out of date or just can't handle the code that AJAX uses or had intended for it to be viewed.
-
And I guess the same goes for me. :-\
-
Update your browser? As I said, it works smashing on Safari.
-
>>Here is the full sized image so you can see it up close (http://i68.tinypic.com/iembeb.jpg).
-
But, it doesn't really matter, since I use my iPod for this forum. ::)
-
Oh, that is strange. lol.
Do you not have a computer?
-
Yes. That is where it starts doing this weird crap.
-
Oh. Well then. +1 Apple devices. Let me check my PC and see if it does the same old skool look.
-
My browser is in date and I'm sure my computer can handle the code I use chrome.
-
Now that I think of it, my browser is in date as well.
-
Okay. Apparently it is a PC thing.
+2 for Apple.
My PC which is up to date also shows everything like it is 1995.
-
Right so it's not just me point proven.
Edit:also does it on tablets.
-
Not just you. It's a PC thing.
-
Apparently it happens on tablets too.
-
Apparently it happens on tablets too.
Not all tablets apparently. Works perfectly on this iPad I have here. +3 Apple.
-
I have an apple product.
-
Oh weird. I'm using an iPad. Is it up to date?
-
Works fine on my apple product.
-
Oh. Okay. So it works on all the Apple products but not the PC products. Okay. Thats what I figured.
It works, just looks old fashioned on PC.
+4 Apple.
-
Mac's and PC's read things differently. That is why if you open a page on a PC compared to a Mac, it will look different. Apple's tend to you more rounded fonts and PC's like square (based on what I've used and seen in business). I know that doesn't explain the chat, but the chat isn't broken.
-
Damnit, Apple is showing off its master race-ness.
I still like PC's, and am comfortable with Apple phones, but other phones are totally better. Except regarding their touch keyboard. Anyway, off topic.
-
Firefox (well, Palemoon, same diff) under mswin here. Went through all the color schemes yesterday or so to see which I liked best and didn't notice any weirdness. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
-
In that case, this problem must only happen on Chrome.
-
I have Firefox installed so I can use that instead.
-
I didn't know there was an issue. Been good on my computer. (Mac)
-
+5 Apple. XD
-
+5 Apple. XD
Lol!
Speaking of Apple / PC. I made this DVD on my Mac, and I went over to a friends. We got the DVD to work perfectly on his Macbook Pro, his Playstation, and his DVD player. But his PC with a DVD drive could not make the DVD work. Lol.
That same day we were trying to get on to this website of animations, and his PC couldn't load the page for no reason. We couldn't figure it out. His Macbook Pro went right on no problem. It was weird.
+6 for the DVD.
+7 for the website.
+7 Apple.
-
I will start working on it tonight. I think it might be a sub-board.
-
The borked page is what it looks like if the CSS (styling rules) don't load. Switching out CSS rulesets is what changing the theme does. So, uh, probably the Javascript that switches the CSS is a bit rough around the edges.
If people are finding it annoying, I can look in to it a bit later (maybe there's some updates for the chat software, or maybe I can swap in a better implementation of the switcher from somewhere else).
-
If that's cool it's annoying for chrome users I don't want to use a small screen.
-
Just saying, on my end, everything has been nice on the site recently. No hiccups.
-
Can we allow anonymous people to post?
-
You've seen the last post in this (http://psf2.boards.net/thread/14/official-psf-forum-updates) too, Grape?
That's just my opinion, but I don't think we should. That would open the door for wrongdoers.
-
Personally, I don't see the big deal.
You can just make an account here and then keep all your info blank.
-
Oh wow, look at that. Thanks.
-
@Grapefoot
Lol, I thought you saw it too. I remember that anonymous user from back then.
-
I remember Anonymous With Class. Hope they are good.
It would be weird if they were here with a username, but we had no idea. lol. They used to say good stuff.
-
They were a chill dude.
But nah, they're not here with an account name. At least not since I last checked did I notice them (about 2-3 days ago). If they used the same username.
I hope they're okay too, if they really want to comment though, I think making an account is a small price to pay.
I think having logins might mean this site doesn't appear as easily on google search? I think?
-
Most of our content that people want is blocked unless you log in. So yeah, all the art and stories can't be found if you search for it. :) They were good peeps though.
-
They can make an account if they want to talk.
-
Thats what I figure for now too.
-
Integrate the live chat maybe to count posts for the forum? Is that even possible?
-
But why? It's really unnecessary. If the people in the chat room wanted their posts and conversations to be recorded they can do it in the PSF Chat thread. It is a chat thread. The live chat I always felt was there so that in a way they were "private" ish. As in they aren't recorded where anyone can scroll through them and read everything. It's obviously not completely private, but I guess there's the safeness of it all disappearing after a short time.
A lot of those posts are Numbers talking to himself or small "how are you's" and "I'm bored" posts. And then only occasioanlly are there chats in there with multiple people.
-
That's actually a good point. It would almost be like counting the personal messages.
-
Yeah. And most of the time I use the live chat it's to privately message faster since I'm not a big fan of the PM structure on this site.
-
I just remembered I noticed a little bug here sometime ago. Nothing important, but here goes.
When it's someone's birthday, a little icon is supposed to appear next to their age on their profile, but all I saw was a square that indicates a broken file. This isn't just a problem on mobile, the same thing happened when I tried it on a computer.
-
Integrate the live chat maybe to count posts for the forum? Is that even possible?
That won't be happening due to technical reasons. But thank you for the input.
-
In one more sign up... possibly this month, we will have our 100th member. Soon we may surpass PSF 1.0's 140 members.
-
Woohoo!
-
*Moments from now, an account pops up as a new members*
MasterXtreme2
-
Ahahaha, you wouldn't dare D:

Watch me.
*Does nothing.* ;)

We is there a member for me to approve called, "MasterXtreme2?"
Just kidding. ;)

Yeah, I have too much time on my hands. XD
Ever think of unique smileys?
-
I know our old forums had an easy way to update and add new emoticons. Let me see if that is still the case and I will PM you.
-
That is great, thank you.
-
Test post.
-
When I get home, I should set up the Halloween contest.
-
Wooo!
-
It's up, and I still have no idea what to do.
-
Lol, it's okay MasterX
-
I might just dress up as a corroding pile of poo.
-
So as yourself? Ahhhhh! I jest I jest! I couldn't pass it up.
-
So as yourself? Ahhhhh! I jest I jest! I couldn't pass it up.
You mean that isn't what he usually is? Sure fooled me.
-
Poo... diarrhea. Same thing.
-
I like how the Halloween contest is up, but no one knows what to dress up as.
-
Grapefoot has entered.
-
I've upgraded the forum software from version 2.0.11 to 2.0.13.
If you hit any new weirdness over the next little while, be sure to let me know in this thread (or via PM, if you prefer).
-
Oh, that's cool. What could have changed?
-
Is it a security upgrade?
-
It was mainly background security stuff. You won't notice it.
-
A bit hard to explain... when we reply to something (without using the quick-reply), we have a new text box. It's white instead of pale green (not a problem, just specifying ;)), and sometimes, when you post, spaces can become double spaces. I mean, spaces like these:
A
B
(will become)
A
B
Happened to me a few times. Then, there's a bug with smileys switching places with the space that precedes them, but I think that only happened to me once. (ETA: It just happened again while editing this. >_<) I dunno, it IS very hard to explain, but I tried.
-
Oh that's a glitch? I thought it was people using huge ass spaces. I noticed it in PM's.
-
Is this new behavior, post-update?
-
Post-update yeah. But I didn't think it was due to the update, I thought it was people doing it. But if others are experiencing it, then I guess it was a glitch?
-
I've noticed some posts get all messed up if you use BBCode, or whatever it is called. It can jumble up other parts of your post, and if you try to edit it, it screws it up more.
It seems to mostly happen if you try and change the font size.
-
To chase it down, I'll need reproducible examples. Could everyone either embed offending snippets in a [code][/code] block, or submit them to a paste site and give the link?
-
If I notice something, I will do so.
Did our "reply" section of the site change? I used to not have images load on that page, but now they all load.
-
Posting these two images here, to show what the text box has become for me, and the problems that came with the change.
Instead of showing the BBcode when you wanna edit a post, it shows what the BBcode does. Like, when I go back to edit a post with a smiley in it, the smiley will show itself as an actual smiley, instead of text. :o
And if I changed the size of a sentence in a post, and I want to go back to edit said post, the BBcode won't display. It gave me a couple problems.
-
The only thing that looks different to me there is that it's white. Everything else about the buttons and stuff looks normal.
-
I edited my post to explain. It's not about the buttons, it's about the actual text box.
-
Did our "reply" section of the site change? I used to not have images load on that page, but now they all load.
That might be why the smileys load on it as well.
Guess it has something to do with the BBcode problem.
That's what I'm trying to say. Let's say I would type this:
Hey, everyone! :)
That took quite a bit of BBcode, right? Well, when I go back to edit that post, in the text box, it's like you see it right now. Bold and italic characters, with a smiley. The BBcode? Gone. No more "[.b]", no more "[.i]", no more "[.size]", no more ": )", etc. When I go back to edit the post, it's all GONE. And that has caused a lot of complications for me, like not being able to change the size a second time, etc.
Trouble is, going by what Raine, Blurr and others have said, I seem to be the only one with THIS problem. ??? That aside, I have the "double space" and weird glitches a few other people seem to have. :-\
-
Why do you need to see the BBCCode?
[/size]
[/size]I get what you are saying. Now it doesn't show you the code anymore, like [cow]url[./cow]
-
What the heck happened--? :o
I need to see the BBcode, because, for example: Let's say I want to change the size of a sentence. I'll add the BBcode necessary for it. If I see that I picked the wrong text size, and I wanna go back to editing it, the BBcode is gone, and the text is still affected. So I have to delete the sentence and retype it completely, instead of just changing a number.
-
You can just highlight the text you want changed and simply reduce the side with the pull-down menu.
I don't like not seeing there BBcode either, but you can still do anything you did before pretty much. You just have to use the buttons and pull tabs now.
-
Oh. So far, looks like only you and me have this problem. XD
Guess I'll have to resort to those, then.
-
I don't see BBcode anymore either, even if I click "modify" to edit it. It automatically shows me how it will look, and only changes if I use the buttons. I can no longer manually type in code.... well I probably can, but it doesn't prefer it. It wants me to use the buttons for a shiny, clean, interface.
-
But you could use the buttons before. But before it showed you the code.
I would prefer seeing the code. Not that I manually type it in. Only for url and img.
-
You could always use the buttons, yes. Some people just prefer the visual. It's sort of like how they keep making it harder to access the code on Wikia. In some cases, you can only do certain things with the old code, and not the visual editing.
-
So it turns out that everybody has the same problem? The way you guys spoke yesterday, it felt like the opposite.
But yeah. It was better the old way.
-
It was better the old way. On one of my forums, when we upgraded, people complained, so we were able to get a code to revert that back to the old way. This was using a Proboards style forum though, not SMF.
Also your 2014 iPod should be getting updates for years to come. My original iPod still works, but my original iPod that had the internet is still supported by Apple. Apple is real good at supporting their products for ages.
-
Also your 2014 iPod should be getting updates for years to come. My original iPod still works, but my original iPod that had the internet is still supported by Apple. Apple is real good at supporting their products for ages.
It's true, I have the oldest iPod touch that could go online, and it still works perfectly and receives updates online. Also have my old white iPod. With the dial. ;D
-
It is amazing how time changes and how what then seemed so modern and cool, now looks old and outdated. But it still works great, so no need to toss it.
-
They were built to last. :) I'm always careful with my technology and everything else.
-
Darn, Grape. :D
Awright, my iPod isn't dying, then. Thanks, guys. :)
-
No, if you take care of it, it will easily last you ten years. My first one from 2001. :) Still going like it was new. My newer ones all work too. ;)
-
I think something happened in the Noses thread. I tried posting a photo onto it but I don't know what went wrong. Now I can't see the bottom of the page whenever i go into that thread
-
No it works. But maybe don't add a file when you already had the link? I mean, cam on.
It did mess my page up but I refreshed and it worked.
-
well for whatever reason the thread won't work for me
-
Perhaps keep from sharing files then until Yasl comes back on then, please. Just in case that's the issue and it might mess up other people's threads. I'll see if I can edit the file share. Not sure though.
-
It also uses up site space to use the attachments system. It would probably be beneficial to host it through a third party.
The topic doesn't work for me either. It stops loading.
-
Your post did break the forum. I am working on fixing it. The file is 4000x5000.
Try using third party hosting site's to save us some bandwidth. The file size is ridiculous and it for some reason locked up the site and is causing errors. I can't even enter the topic to remove it.
-
its 4000 by 3000. Not ten times that. And I'm sorry I Didn't know that would happen
-
Yeah, Blurr, remember I've nagged you a lot about attaching stuff. Is it that hard to just link it?
-
its 4000 by 3000. Not ten times that. And I'm sorry I Didn't know that would happen
]
No worries. No one would suspect that. It was just a technical thing. :) No worries.
-
You can also just hotlink the image with Deviant Art and the site automatically resizes it. :)
-
It was better the old way. On one of my forums, when we upgraded, people complained, so we were able to get a code to revert that back to the old way. This was using a Proboards style forum though, not SMF.
SMF isn't as modifiable as Proboards sadly... so it probably wouldn't exist.
-
That frickin' text box has gotten worse. I think it actually deleted a smiley after I posted. •_•
-
You sure seem to be having a lot of issues with it. I have been using it, and it has been working fine for me. I don't know what to say, Numbers. :-\
It doesn't show the code anymore, but that is about the only change I've noticed.
-
That is so strange why it isn't working for you, Numbers.
-
Numbers, if possible, send me the latest version of OS you are running on your iPod and which version of Safari you are running on it (unless you use a different web browser).
We can not duplicate your problem. It might be a OS or browser issue which I can test if I have yours. You can PM me.
-
Spaces between paragraphs are doubled, sometimes tripled. Sometimes, text glitches up when trying to change text size. The BBcode not appearing anymore gives me complications. And now, it deletes smileys. Geez. >_<
Okay, I will.
-
None of that is happening to me. It all works. The only thing that is different is the lack of BBcode. :(
-
I don't know whats the matter for, Numbers.
-
Didn't the text glitch up for you as well, APD? ???
-
So far we can't replicate your problem. I don't know what is wrong for you.
-
I've been working on it since yesterday evening.
-
Numbers, have you tried your laptop or something? If it works fine there then it's your phones problem, not the forums. So...?
-
I'll try it later.
Btw, my comp isn't a laptop...
-
Okay.
-
I just tried it. It still does the "double space" thing on my comp. :-\
-
Anything else besides that?
The double spacing thing has happened to me in PMs too.
-
Is it only the double space thing that is consistent?
-
Pretty much, yes. The glitching hasn't happened in a while (to APD or to me), the disappearing smiley was probably just a "one time" thing... that only leaves the "double space" problem. There's also the complications caused by the new text box, but that's something I've no choice but to endure.
-
Well if it is just the minor double space, I think you might have to live with it for now.
What is the other complications caused by the new text box? I know you guys keep saying it is white, but what is the problem other problem?
-
Ran tests on Safari, Chrome, and Firefox, all using a PC for this test.
I could not replicate the error. But Chrome was the slowest to load PSF of all the browsers.
-
I have assembled the glitched posts.

(in large letters)
[/size][size=78%]Why do you need to see the BBCCode?
[ /size]
[ /size]
I get what you are saying. Now it doesn't show you the code anymore, like [cow]url[./cow][/size]
ETA: Editing this post has made it glitch. •_• I give up.
-
Well if it is just the minor double space, I think you might have to live with it for now.
What is the other complications caused by the new text box? I know you guys keep saying it is white, but what is the problem other problem?
Aside from the BBcode not appearing when going back to edit a post, there's no other problem.
-
The BBC coding has been a thing that missing for multiple people.
-
I have assembled the glitched posts.
Thank you, Numbers.
-
It removed a smiley again. Really, I give up. :(
-
What are you doing? use the quick reply and just type in BBcode myself and never have a problem. Then if I modify my post, you can still type your own BBcode or just use the buttons.
I've never had something of mine disappear.
-
The problem is when you go to edit the BBC code because say you messed up, the edit box doesn't show you the previous BBC code and thus messes up your post more.
But yeah, Numbers. Honestly. Just use quick reply, it's not that big a deal. You can survive.
-
But... I always use quick-reply.
-
Then why are you talking about problems happening to you in the long reply stuff??
-
You just said it yourself. Because sometimes, I have to go back and edit a post.
-
Then why edit with the BBC code? Maybe, from now, try being a bit more careful so you don't need to edit?
I had to be super careful when editing Umeko's post. Because if I hadn't previewed i would have accidentally deleted one of her links. And we know she'd bite my head off and say I did it on purpose. So, just be careful. Try to prevent, you know? Until we figure this problem out.
-
Well it is easy not to run into this problem if you just modify your post using the buttons instead of typing your own BBcode.
You just highlight what you want changed, click the button, and it automatically does it for you.
-
Okay, I'll be careful, LP.
-
But Grape that's te problem. Even with the buttons it messes it up. And apparently the buttons have also been screwy.
When you put BBC code over already BBC coded text it messes it up more, from what Numbers has shown us.
-
When you put BBC code over already BBC coded text it messes it up more, from what Numbers has shown us.
Since you put it that way, that has been an issue since the begging. I've always had that problem then.
But it's never bothered me that much. Just shrug it off and post it. It will be buried in a few minutes anyways.
-
But your posts never come out messed up....
BBC code before should show up when you go to edit it. That's what it should look like if you've done stuff.
-
So I haven't said anything about this, and have tried understanding what the actually issue is here. To me it looks like not-an-issue. Yes there is a SMF issue, but it is easily avoidable.
-
It is easily avoidable, but the staff here still wants to try and help and fix the issue, unlike other places which would brush this off.
So we are trying to make sense of it, and possibly help in the process.
-
But it's annoying. You saw what it did to Numbers and APD's posts. It seems to be a problem mostly with the size adjustment for text.
-
It's weird. But I guess that is a problem I've had since beginning this site. I just never cared about it.
-
Yasl will look over it too, so just give us a bit of time here.
-
Smiles changed the text box back to the old one, and all the problems and glitches are gone! :D
Thanks, Smiles! ;D
-
Wow. Nice.
-
You are welcome, Numbers.
I also made guests have to answer those annoying verification things with text and questions. I think it will stump our little Ukrainian friend. The question is, "What is PSF stand for?"
-
That's cool. :D
I wonder how many people will type the wrong word for "P"? ;)
-
And the person being from Ukraine will have absolutely no idea. Lol!
I'm happy it works for you now. Darrin has spent the past several days trying to figure it out. ;)
-
Don't send a man to do a woman's job :p
-
D-Dawg will be so pleased on the outside but inside he will shed manly tears.
-
Haha! XD
I noticed we have a new "Reputation" thing above our avatar.
-
Reputation? Oh boy! I can do such devious things!
-
Indeed, some people will have fun with it. ^^'
-
First to give Smiles a + !
-
Me too! :D
-
Oh yeah, I forgot I stuck that there. I should remove it.
I thought it was going to be a thumbs up on the posts, not the actual member.
-
Aw booooo!
I liked it though!!
*autistic screeching*
-
Poor LP. We both know what fun you would've had with it. ;) ;)
-
People would get upset if they got down votes and were ranked low.
-
But the thing is, people who would get downvotes wouldn't get voted on because people would feel bad being mean. Unless they were big dicks.
But I would like up voting posts again :)
-
I wish we could up vote posts, but it seems we can only be upvoting members.
I will throw it up again temporarily and see's what happens. Maybe for tonight and see what happens.
-
I need you guys to check for me. I think I made it you can up vote once per post you make. So you can up vote someone, then you have to post again before you can up vote.
-
Yay! I like this too though.
-
No it doesn't work. I just up voted you twice. That should be fixed. Once you vote you can't vote again. I didn't make a comment and was able to up vote you (the user) on seperate posts twice. Moving you from 2 to 4.
-
I think it works, I will go check.
Also the post mode shows Become again. Nice job Smiles.
-
It doesn't seem like the reputation works that way yet. Might want to edit it some more.
-
Thanks, APD. I will go check it out.
-
Now it should only work every 15 minutes I think.
-
So you fixed it a little. But it says I can up vote APD after .25hrs. I think it shouldn't be repeatable.
Wheeeeeeeee.
I love you all.
-
It seems to work now just as you have set it. Maybe lower the timer though? Ten minutes?
-
Wheeeeeeeee.
I love you all.
Uhhhh.... whats going on with her? ;D
-
She's drunk.
-
But why should you be able to vote for someone more than once? Seems weird.
-
Oh, that explains a lot. ;D
-
I can't control how many times you can vote for someone. That is why I don't like our site's default "Reputation" system. It's broken and doesn't provide me enough options to actually make it cool.
-
She's drunk.
I'm not drunk. I just love you all.
-

boooooo
-
that's weird how un-customizable it is
-
We love you too, LP? ;D Should I feel weird saying that? She seems so happy and lovable right now.
-
I think we will keep it up for for a few hours, maybe get some more opinions. I would really like an up vote/downvote thing for posts people make, which adds to the "reputation" points of a person. Not just an upvote/downvote in their mini profile beside the post.
-
How do you have 15 likes? Is it just people mashing the like button for you?
-
That was me. I pressed it like ten times to test it before she changed it.
-

I like that idea the best. So you can up vote a post someone makes if you like it. But you can only do once per post.
Those points would go into reputation points of a member. That is a good idea.

And unless there is a plugin for us to do that, we can't do it with our default setup.
-
Wait that's a good idea. If people's posts are up voted it goes to a reputation post for them.
Not vote for them their profile. Yeaaaah. That sounds smart.
-
Ask Yasl!
She's super smart!
-
Yasl's a guy.
-
We will work on that for this year then, and see if it is even possible.
On that note, I am going to go eat dinner. :)
-
Ask Yasl!
She's super smart!
Yasl's a guy.
Uh...
She's drunk.
;D
-
Yasl's a guy!!
I always thought she was a girl. Oh my god. What is my life!
-
That is awesome you got the text box figured out Smiles. :D I am really happy that was solved!
*Walks out of the room.*
I am no longer needed... they can do things without me... *Looks down at the floor.*
I guess . . . . this is the end of my time here. *Walks down the hallway.*
I can now do my true calling in life. Be an impressionist Monkey Howler! *Starts making howler monkey noises and happily slides down the stair railing*
-
Awww, poor, Darrin!
Reputation points for APD!! He solved something today!
-
That feature's gone now? :o
-
Yes it is. ;D Hopefully they find a modification for the forum to make it like we had hoped.
-
Well it's hard to discuss with hypocrites.
Then what is the plot thread? "Strip club" for an inducing thread? Then what is the Plot thread. It's bare asses and you guys comment on it. But oh dear, sneeze stuff! Too far!
It's unfair, and you have pushed memebers away. Just. I'm sorry. I actually feel depressed. And I'm not drunk anymore if that's what you guys think. It wore off pretty quickly actually. And this is just. Upsetting to see.
Hearing from people saying they feel unwanted here, they feel like "the asshole" or "that jerk".
What are you talking about? Who are the people who are unwanted? I'm legitimately asking. I want to fix this if this is a serious issue for people. What is unfair, who is being turned away? What's wrong LP, lets talk?
-
Look, LP. You're not really helping if you're gonna call us names.
And what members are you talking about?
(ETA: Wait, what are these posts doing here? ???)
-
Why do I have to tell? The reason they didn't post was because they felt so ostracized by you guys and just you guys saying it being deviant and bad. After you guys started going it was a horrible idea, they felt bad. Because they kinda liked it, and then you guys going all "it's sinful" "it's disgusting". It made them feel like shit. And that actually makes me cry. That you made one of our friends feel like they were bad. That they had the bad touch, that they likes an idea you guys side melt started calling deprived and gross and bad. Because one person didn't like it, or it didn't align with their morals.
-
What? Somebody spoke to you? And you're crying because of all this? And they said all that? Geez. This is getting out of hand.
-
I would like to talk with this person. I want to make things right and understand both sides of the story.
-
I'm typing my response, I'm not ignoring you. It's just long.
-
Indeed.
-
I will read this issue in the morning. I have to go to bed, been waiting for over twenty minutes. I tried staying up.
But we will work together and solve whatever problems are going on here. I look forward to discussing this with anyone who wishes to discuss.
-
Gosh darn it. I just sent it.
-
Oh cool! :D The text box was fixed. :) Good work.
-
I wil return in about two hours for those needing to contact me. I have some errands I need to attend too.
-
I know our old forums had an easy way to update and add new emoticons. Let me see if that is still the case and I will PM you.
I have made four new emoticons. ;D
Link in my signature, they're in the "MADE BY NUMBERS INC." section.
Feel free to tell me what you think of them. :)
Think I might have to redo the "annoyed" one, though. The edges are too rough. :/
ETA: Nah, never mind. ^^
-
I remember when you signature read "three new smileys!" Now you FOUR?! NUMBERS INC its producing smileys and cars now! :D
You also got rid of the white backgrounds. (http://i.imgur.com/134DupW.png)
-
Wow smileys are advancing nice to know :D
-
And now there's five. ;)
-
Wowee zowee!!
-
This one is the best so far. :)
Since you made a mustache guy... wonder if you can make him a family? Like a wife, a son, a daughter. ;D Lol.
But lets be practical here too. You could make a cop, or maybe a fireman.
OR! Since this is a sneeze website, what about some sneeze smileys? Or a smiley with a cold? Throwing ideas. They have all turned out great.
-
They are spectacular.
-
There's already a cop emoji.
-
(http://psfforum.com/Smileys/default/police.gif) You're under arrest for . . . being FANTASTIC!
-
[...] Since this is a sneeze website, what about some sneeze smileys? Or a smiley with a cold? Throwing ideas. They have all turned out great.
...that's an awesome idea. •.• Might be a bit complicated, though.
Thanks, guys. ^^
-
Maybe try like he type of lips Miggs does for sneezes. Flappy lips, not quite aardvark lips. Or maybe exaggerated aardvark lips would work. Have it extend past the smiley head
-
They are turning out really good, Numbers.
-
They are turning out really good, Miggs.
Miggs?
-
Fixed it.
-
They are real good. If you need some sneeze ideas, let me know, Numbers.
I might even make a simply gif one, since I probably don't need a pen for that. ;D
-
But can our smiles be gifs. I know on SFF they have a few gif ones.
-
Actually, all our site's emoticons are .gif files. Just none are animated.
-
Oh. Wow. Who knew.
-
I did. ;)
Although the smileys I made are .png files... so, now that I think of it, they might not work? ???
-
*shrug* I'm sure it'll be fine.
-
If you say so. ;)
-
Don't you back sass me ;P
-
.jpg .png .gif
They should all work. And lets say it doesn't, it is as simple as saving the file as the correct format. No biggie. They look good.
-
They are pretty awesome smileys. Could have a "Numbers Smiley Pack."
-
;D
Wish I could make a bigger smile, to show how I really feel.
-
Make one smiley fave that has a ridiculous smile then. ;D
-
Say, I remember something you could use when typing BBcode, back in the day, called the "glow", which would give text a colored shadow (with the color you wanted). But after a few months, it was removed. How come? I'm curious.
-

I'm pretty sure that was only on PSF 1.0 with ProBoards. I don't remember SMF and PSF 2.0 having any of the "glow" function.
-
Well, I remember you could use it here.
Heck, I also remember using it in this exact post (http://psfforum.com/index.php?topic=5.msg22489#msg22489). I had used a red glow. When the option was removed, all text on the forum using it, lost its glow.
-
That is peculiar. I wonder what happened to it?
-
Don't know if this is common, but the other day, some icons and random buttons in the "reply" section of the forum didn't appear for me. They seem to show up now.
-
Hmm I'm not sure as I never seen that happen.
-
It will probably just fix itself, Fox. I've had similar issues, but they go away.
-
It is a loading issue that might be from the script or your browser. But as others have said, refresh the page and it may fix itself. We've had these issues since day one.
-
Yeah nothing to worry about I don't get a lot but now and then I get posting errors.
-
Posting errors? What do you mean?
-
I had a error couple times about posting I'm not sure what it said but I was unable to post next time I screenshot it but since it went away I never bothered mentioning it.
-
Hmmm. I'm not sure what it is then.
-
Ah its not a big problem it went away and has not happend in a while so don't worry about it.
-
Odd. I don't know about those either.
-
Well since nobody else had the problem I left it as it was.
-
Okay. I guess we will just forget about it. ;D But if it comes back up, let me know.
-
I've been getting this as of today, not sure if anyone else has gotten it. The problem gets solved by pressing "login" again, but I just felt to share it. Like, what I normally do is I log on, check the site, and just close the tab, and then when I get back on I press log in and I'm back in. Other times I have to press it again and re enter my stuff.
-
That's very likely related to the update -- it added the requirement for the session ID to be included in the login request. Initially, the "quick login" bar at the very bottom of the front page (visible when not logged in) hard broke and would only show that error screen no matter what you did. That issue, at least, should have been fixed before anyone had time to notice.
Miggs, to help narrow this one down, can you tell me exactly which login button/s you're hitting, and whether you've restarted your browser (or, at least, closed all existing PSF tabs then reloaded one tab with a Ctrl-Shift-R "hard/full reload" since the update (you might have an old login form cached by your browser)).
-
Yeah I had that problem with posting a couple times as seen in older posts but it's not happened since.

The one at the top. Yeah like, it happened right now when I logged on. This is after my browser is back online after closing it last night/this morning.
It's not too much of a big deal, just kinda surprises me every time for some reason.
-
Hmm, I have not had any errors myself.
Kind of odd it is doing that though.
-
I'm sure it will sort out soon do you still have the problem?
-
So at PSF 1.0, Claof always would @username people to get their attention.
Is there a way to get that feature here? If I wanted to gets member Bob's attention in a topic, is there a way to notify him without a personal message and go @Bob? Is there a plugin or something? Would love to know, thanks. I think it would be very useful.
-
That's similar to notifications isn't it?
-
Notification you have to sign up for though. This would alert you directly if someone wants you attention in a certain topic.

We'll see what Yasl says.

Anything yet?

Nothing yet. :-\

Eeeerrrrhhgghhh!!

@Darrin, @AnyPoneDrawn : I found an appropriate plugin and installed it, though I've not finished configuring it. It's the largest plugin we've installed to date.
Since it can potentially allow members to cause emails to be sent to other members, I've disabled it for "Newbie"s (0-49 posts) for now.
Question: should it be opt-in or opt-out to receive emails when mentioned by someone else?
Also: let me know here if the site blows up or things start breaking, since it might be the plugin ;)
-
@yasl This seems to work fine. Thanks, man! :D
-
@yasl Thanks and yeah will let you know if any problems arise.
-
Very awesome new feature. Someone test it on me!
It should be an opt in / opt out option. Might want to start it as opt in until the person opts out maybe?
-
Very nice! I got the mention right away, Yasl.
-
@RainySunshine Trying it on ya. ;p
-
Feature is excellent.
-
So you just put @ in front of a name? How does it notify the person?
-
@Silverwing *points at upper section of the screen* With that new "Mentions" button.
-
I actually have no idea how the @-mentions worked on the previous forum, so I made it up as I went along! (So, e.g., I added the new button on the top bar as a manual hack; it isn't part of the plugin, though the page it leads to is.)
Let me know if this is insufficient.
-
That is so cool, there is a new section for mentions and you can click on any spot you are mentioned@ This is an awesome new feature! I love it!
-
Yes this feature is awesome will get used a lot.
-
I really appreciate it @yasl. It works superb and flows very nicely with the rest of the site. I think this might be the best feature yet!
-
I got it, @1234. Thanks.
-
Man, this thing really works! :D
-
Ooh! Someone test me! :D
-
@Soda Testing you. ;)
-
This is a very useful feature. I remember Claof used to use it at PSF 1.0 all the time. Now it actually has a purpose!
-
Rocking feature! Can we set it to turn on/off email notifications about it?
-
On the notifications page, there is a button on the bottom right. Check it on or off for notifications by email.
-
I just noticed it after I posted this. Thanks, cool.
-
I noticed the button at the bottom.

POSSIBLE PSF DOWNTIME written by Darrin August 21, 2017
Wanted to give advance notice that the PSF forum might have potential disruptions during the transition to HTTPS switch. What this will do is make PSF a more secure site not only for our content, but for you privacy and safety. This change will be coming sometime within the next month, late August into early September. Yasl is working away in his sweatbox room with the key thrown away.... well, not really. ;) He has a fan.
Just wanted to let you all know in advance incase PSF is down for a short time. We will try to always give advance notice, but you don't always know when you are going to break a code or spill soda on your keyboard.
-
Thanks for the heads up, Darrin!
-
@Soda Testing you. ;)
Thank you. :D
-
@1234 @System423 @Umbreon Was the site down for everyone a few minutes ago?
-
@1234 @System423 @Umbreon Was the site down for everyone a few minutes ago?
I don't think it was...
-
Yes it was @Smiles2us
-
Okay, thanks for the reaffirmation.
My browser said it couldn't establish a connection with the forum.
-
I guess I wasn't here, then. XD
-
I got refused to connect to server.
-
Kind of. I'm working on something rn, when I tabbed back and refreshed, it was down, but then it came back up in a second. I just assumed it was my internet.
-
I assumed it was my internet until I scrambled and tried three different browsers with all the same results.
So remember our backup place. Probably a good time to bring this up again. For quick answers, check out Deviant Art which I updated already. Another sources is the MLPS Wikia.
https://psfforum.deviantart.com
-
I checked on my tablet and same thing, but yeah thanks for link.
-
Yep. That is always going to be our emergency stuff. Yasl is working on better back ups for the site, so if the unthinkable happens, we will at least have backups to get things back to normal. Updates would be on the emergency sites.
-
It's good to be safe.
-
Good to reshape the emergency links. You never know when we could need them.
And if all internet goes down.... you can find me in my secret cabin in the mountains.
-
I don't remember if this issue's been brought up before, but hyperlinks are still visible through spoilers.
-
^ Yes it has been brought up. For as little as that ever happens though, is it worth bugging Yasl about it? ;) But if it is, by all means go for it guys.
-
I'm not bugging him! XD
-
Yeah, don't matter too much I don't think. We don't use spoilers much anyways, and you can always do the url within a word to hide it.
-
[spoiler]I like CHEESE (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WSVEBixtEps) bacon[/spoiler]
Oh, never mind...
-
Toldja. ;)
-
When clicking "Reply" to make a post, all the posting options have disappeared and no smileys.
-
@Grapefoot
I just saw this! I've gotten used to the [ quote ] method by now lol. I'll be using this again :D
-
Cloaf's day just went from an 8 to a 24 in a split second. ;D
-
On a scale of 1 to 10.
-
I know @1234 made extra emoticons before, but I was wondering if we could add an emoticon with a sweat drop on their head? One that represent this look. ---- > ^_^;
I do not know how hard they are to make, but I think that emoji would be used a lot if we had one.
-
I could try. :)
-
Good idea, FoxTail. :) That is a good emotion not currently represented.
The nervous smile look.
-
I agree with you guys. That would be a good emoticon to have.
-

I like your thinking. :)
-
Good idea!
-
Gimme a few days and you guys might see that smiley. ^-^
-
You rock, Numbers! This contribution you have made is something you can see daily on this site! How cool is that?! You pretty much MADE the smileys here!
-
... :-]
-
Everyday I come here to use this ::| or this :-] , I remember Numbers did it. :)
-
Everybody loves a good smiley. :)

Heh. Any other smiley face ideas you can think of?

Hellooo.

How do you like it? If you think it needs any changes, tell me.
-
^ I think that is perfect! Looks better then I could have imagined!
-
Excellent work, Numbers!
@Smiles2us
Add this!
-
I will add this tonight. Thanks, Hun. Looks spectacular.
-
Does look very nice numbs.

Very good job. That emoticon will be used a lot. ;D
-
Thanks, guys. :)
-
Oooh, this one will get a lot of use. ;D
-
The new emoji has been added.
-
Thank you, Smiles. I'm glad you guys like it. :)
Just a suggestion. Using something like ^^' instead of : nervoussmile : to type it, would be simpler. ;)
-
That's a good emoticon to have and thanks for doing it numbs. :)
-
I wonder who will be the first to try it out? Certainly not me.
-
Why, you're a funny little fella, aren't you. ;p
-
I like it a lot. Thank you Numbers. An arteeeeeeest you are!
Thanks for setting it up, Smiles.

Well it's good! If it stunk, we'd tell you. ;)

You're welcome. Man, I didn't expect that much positive feedback. ;D
And it didn't stink. :D

So RainySunshine suggested a scared smiley, and Rainberry suggested a shocked smiley. I figured, they'd pretty much make similar faces, so I did my best and made this little thing:
What do you guys think?
-
Lol! I like it, though he reminds me of one of those hand puppets. ;D
-
Looks good perfect smiley.
-
Certainly looks shocked! Lol! Nicely done, Numbers.
-
Thanks for adding it, Smiles. I'm glad you guys like it. :)
:-0 :-0 :-0
(to type it: colon, hyphen, zero)
-
Certainly nice addition to the growing smileys.
-
Nice! It has already been added! :-0 Quick!
-
Very nice addition there, Numbers! Goes perfectly with the other greats you've made. Forever a piece of PSF you have added!

REQUEST??
Is there a way to make a tagging system to posts? Some other forums have this feature. So for example if it is a female sneeze we could tag "female" and it would appear under the topic?
I'm not sure if this is something people want or not... more or less a question.
-
I think it's a good idea but that's even if it's possible and enough people agree.
-
Works for me. Though we already do have "tags" sort of in titles.
-
I like them, Numbers! Thanks for the new smiley!
-
Where are "plugins" or "mods" to add to this kind of site? Is there a special depository?

I am looking into it.

This mod looks plausible: https://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=579
I'll see about hooking it in some time in the next couple of weeks.
-
Great thanks again yasl.
question would mods be able to add or remove tags from posts as it says thread owner or tag admins only or have I misread it.
-
Oh good question.
-
I don't see if it would allow us to narrow down search by tags though, would it?
-
Not sure to be honest.
-

I've not checked, but I'd imagine "tag admin" is a capability that may be granted to any group by site configuration, not a reference to Administrators / Super-Users.
-
Ok thank you for telling me of that. :)
-
For the first time ever, the site didn't load and said it was a bad gateway. It lasted about five seconds is all.
It showed that my browser was not the problem, nor the host, but PSF Forum itself. What is the cause of that?
-
I had that happen before nothing to worry about it sorts itself out after a refresh or did yours persist.
-
I haven't had that happen but servers and what not go offline for split seconds all the time. If it happens at larger intervals, then be alarmed.
-
Thank you both for the re-assurance. I wasn't worried, because it cleared up fast. Any know the cause or is it just inter web scrabbles?
-
Just the web being the web. Stuff happens, inference and interruptions.
-
Your welcome APD. :)
-
I did some searching and it seems to be fairly common.
-
Site is back online after being down for about thirty minutes from 3:30pm to 4:00pm. There was an incoming "attack" I guess I will call it from some bot spamming the site.
-
Is anyone else having the site load slow to them? It's been doing that for me all day.
-
I've been running smooth all day. Might be a localized issues or maybe you need a browser update?
-
Is anyone else having the site load slow to them? It's been doing that for me all day.
No known slow-downs on our end. I think it's on your end there, Grapefoot.
-
Yeah everything is smooth which browser you use?
-
I've been good.
-
@Grapefoot
Problem solved?
-
Yes it did solve. My internet was laggy for some reason. I turned off Firefox and went back to Safari and everything was good. :)
-
At least everything is solved for you. :)
-
Awesome possum!
-
Site is acting very laggy and clunky for Rainy and I. He says he couldn't log in for a period of time. Unsure what is happening.
-
Let us know if the problem is still happening or reoccurs.
-
Thank you. The server was running but may have been under stress do to higher then normal traffic levels. I don't have a complete answer for you. According to the log, the site was running fine, but there is no way to know on a person by person basis sometimes.
-
No problems from us today.
-
Good to hear.
-
The site keeps giving me 502 errors when loading a page. Site loading very slowly and laggy.
-
Thank you for the notification. Bad Gateway errors are often caused by issues between online servers that you have no control over. However, sometimes, there is no real issue but your browser thinks there is one thanks to an issue with your browser, a problem with your home networking equipment, or some other in-your-control reason.
-
The site keeps giving me 502 errors when loading a page. Site loading very slowly and laggy.
May I ask what browser you are using.
-
It won't matter what browser they are using as it can happen to any browser, any computer. It's something to do with a server communicating to another server and there is an issue there.
-
Yes I realised that after I looked up the error code.
-
It worked today.
-
Well that's good. :)
-
Glad to hear.
-
Can someone teach me how to delete my profile please? ASAP
Welcome. I see you just joined. Shame you will be leaving so soon. :(
An administrator will close down you account.
-

@Sneezefan123 If you really want you account eliminated, I will lock down and terminate your account.
-
Don't worry. It will be deleted.
-
Don't worry about doing anything. You account is gone.
-
He knows that. He was basically asking if his posts could be deleted.
-
Deleted. :)
-
And they're gone.
-
Sorry folks! There was a communication breakdown (my fault) that meant the new backend IP address was not added to the Cloudflare service that fronts the site.
I only noticed when I heard of the outage in passing on Discord because, lo and behold, the error page from the old IP address gave an HTTP response code of 200 OK, so the rudimentary monitoring that's in place thought all was well.
-
I'm glad the site is running again. I was worried. It is weird that Feb 17th is missing from the site's stats because of this outage.
-
I was a bit worried the site was gone yesterday, but i had confidence it would be back soon with you guys running things. :)
-
Maybe this is the right place, maybe not.
I have been having an issue lately opening image links people post to websites such as Imgur or Furaffinity. It happens here as well as elsewhere. It only recently started happening for Imgur links.
I know it's not a website issue, but any ideas?
I have three web browsers and they are all up to date. Safari, Firefox, and Edge.
-
I wouldn't be sure on what causes it, does it give any error messages if you want pm and I take a look for you.
Edit: I downloaded firefox and I can't seem to replecate the issue, is it mobile or pc.
-
It is on PC.
No error message. The page just remains white/blank and never loads.
-
Send me a link in pm that doesn't work for you I will give it a try on all browsers to see if I can help replicate the problem and then go from there.

I am assuming some of the links FoxTail is having issue with are on this page.

I don't even see image icons for the new photo links? ???
-
Yes I noticed non of them work either images got removed from the discord server there hosted on or just gone bad in general, and the links to fur the owner has had it private so it won't work.
-
Yeah, they should just use a third party image hosting site.
-
Well I wasted my time going through it fixing the links
-
Thank you. I don't see the images on the page, but I see the links that I can click to see the images.

QUESTION FOR ALL MEMBERS
Are there new board topics or ideas you have? We would love to hear any ideas you have or quality of life improvements. :D We can't promise they will be done, but it's a great way to get feedback to what you all like. We can make our community better than ever by listening to one another.

NEW VIDEO FEATURE ADDED TO PSF
You can now post video files at PSF, such as a .mp4 or .mov file. Simply use the video's url from whichever site you are hosting it from, and use the regular img image posting code around it. The main limitation at the moment is that there is no option for sound of pausing the video. But hey... it's something!
Below is an example.

So here is an idea. What if in a way to combat lurkers, you had a system in which the more people posted, the more of the forum it unlocked? Or if people could post their posts behind a curtain that only certain viewers could view?
Such as.... Authors. You have more lurkers in that section than almost any, and most people don't post anything. What if people had to post 10 posts (for example) before they could see certain stories, or art, etc? The more they post, the more content they unlock to view. It would be a benefit to the creators to get feedback and a boon to the poster to see more content. Every time they unlock something, it would keep them engaged to post more in what they unlock, so they could continue to unlock content.
If they clicked something that was locked, it would just take you to a splash page that says "you need X amount of posts to view this content."

There is a lot of merit to this proposal if the goal is to get people to post. But will it work? I am not sure. It might slow the growth rate of new members, but help the growth of legitimate integrated members who want to partake in community content.
-
So it would essentially penalize lurkers. Is that the overall goal, to grow engagement? For what purpose? I mean, I wish everyone would post and leave feedback for every picture or story they read. It helps the creators so much, but fact is, people are selfish and only "take take" lol. That's how many people are.
-
Well, there are a lot of new accounts with various advertising links in their signatures. I am truly doubt they are a part of community ;D.
-
Yeah, those spam accounts need to be removed. Thankfully they are not posting, or they might be blocked.
I mean think about this. We have over 500 members. How many are currently active and posting at least once a year? Maybe a 100? How many are active posters posting almost daily? Around 20-30? I do think it would be beneficial to have those numbers grow. More people communicating. I mean look how many people are online right now just looking at art and reading stories, and not saying or contributing anything. Not even providing feedback to the creators. :-\
-
The spammers just register themselves, but don’t make any posts to avoid being blocked or deleted ;D.
I also was one of members who came here just for watching.
-

My point exactly. I'm calling some out right now. Here are a few online at this moment. And most of the time, the people are people who have never even posted once!

Well it is up to the admin if this is an issue they plan to tackle or not.
If it even is an issue.
Wage war on lurkers.... is that something we need to do? I don't know. It's frustrating, yes. But beyond that, I don't think there is much you can do.
-
I remember how much time I was lurking on this forum in 2016-2017 — for today, only three users have more time online than me ;D.

I understand that too. But there is nothing more frustrating then seeing you wrote a story or have art, it has 200 views and 2 comments. No substance, nothing to grow from.

At least you started talking though! You are an example of a great community member who engages with others. It shows Lurkers who begin talking can be wonderful! ^b-
-
People may be shy to post comments on sneeze media ;D.
It’s very specific content after all.
-
^ They should be punished! lol
-
We plan on blocking lurkers or guests anytime soon. Guests are already blocked from certain media, but registered users won't be blocked for lurking.

Is anyone allowed to create an artist's commission/request/art topic? Like how some have topics to post all their art in? Or does one need approval to create one?

We can't figure out what is wrong. Which is why we've posted for help for over two years. It's beyond my understanding.
-
You can still do it the janky way. Quite my post to see how I did it. You have to go to the users profile, and in the URL it tells you which number member they are. So I am 17. I go to a post and type {member=17}Silverwing{/member} Replace the {} with []
@Silverwing
It takes way more effort now to do this.
-
Thanks! It's something.
-
We apologise for this in the meantime.

I wish someone with knowledge would jump on that someday. It's nuts no one bites after so many years.
