Pfffftbahaha!  RNC includes a Twilight Sparkle quote as part of the defense against claims that Melania plagiarized Michelle.  Pony really has invaded everywhere.  Link ganked from EqD.

^ That made me laugh.  At least the Republican Party has their priorities straight on who to get quotes from.

I don't remember that Twilight Sparkle quote but damn is that funny, he sounds so serious when he says it too! But yes, Rainy, priorities be straight lol.

I watched a bit of the convention last night. It was pretty interesting.

I saw that. Twilight Sparkle is all over the news because of that spot on CNN originally.  Lol!

Watching the RNC convention a bit right now,  Ted Cruz is giving a rousing speech.

Ted didn't endorse Trump after his speech.  That was both brave and a dick move.

It was a ballsy move by Ted Cruz.  But remember this, Trump invited him to the convention.  So he even had a guy who didn't really want to support him be there.  Makes you think.

Time for some political pictures to go with this topic.  Been awhile.

RNC themed. DNC will come when the time comes.

Cleveland, Ohio.

Donald Trump.

Chris Christie.

Duck Dynasty's Willie Robertson.

Tiffany Trump.

Melania Trump.

Donald Trump Jr.

Donald Trump.

Sheriff David Clarke.

Former NYC Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Ben Carson.

Mike Pence and Donald Trump.

The Trump family.

And from outside the convention...

Texas arrives to the convention.

Protesters against Trump, Capitalism, and Republican's in general have been a lot smaller in number then the media overhyped.

Cleveland Police keep the city/convention safe.

Quoth the protestor's sign: "Dump Trump // Reject the neoliberal Republican agenda".

Trump is many things, but he is no friend of neoliberalism.  Or has "neoliberalism" just become a codeword for "boo evil rich capitalist types boo hiss"?

He largely seems to peddle authoritarian populism and protectionism.  For all its faults, especially in execution, neoliberalism is diametrically opposed to protectionism.

As you all know, Mr. Trump was not my first choice for President when running against that huge field.... but his speech tonight was... was possibly among the strongest speeches I have heard in a long time.  He struck a cord, and I am feeling more comfortable with him.  He truly wants to make America great again it seems, and he speaks common sense.  If you got over an hour, give it a watch.  He did an excellent job.  I look forward to seeing' Hillary's speech too.

Hillary has come out saying that she and Kaine are everything Trump and Pence are not.  She's come out calling them racist.  Kaine is bilingual, so that will certainly help her pick up more the Hispanic vote.  I wonder if he is the first bilingual VP?

Nope...  that goes all the way back  to John Adams, who spoke Latin and French, among others.  Several Presidents who spoke more than one language once served as veeps.   Special mention goes to James Garfield, who could write Latin with one hand and Greek with his other, simultaneously.
