I'm sad about the impending "unprecedented" heatwave about to his the Pacific Northwest.  Remember, 60s and 70s are their normal summers.  Practically no one has air conditioning up there.

There is an UNPRECEDENTED high pressure system from the tropics and is could bring temps to record levels there with 90s to 100s for up to a week or more.  This is a place that might have one or two 80 degree days then it drops down to the 60s with cool breezes.  But this impending forecast is showing this could last a long time for them... and they aren't used to it or ready for it.  I hope it doesn't materialize.

I hope not either.  That could be very harmful and potentially deadly.  Not to mention the horrid heatwave the southwest has been having and continued drought in California.  They are used to it now... but still.  It's not fun.

Oooh, that sounds dreadful.   I saw it on the national news today.  They quickly talked about it and in typical national news fashion (the Pacific Northwest is never talked about) they brushed it off after a 10 second segment and moved on.

Tomorrow is FRIDAY!  We get the weekend next!!

I like Fridays too because it's my day off.  I work on Saturdays, so I've got Fridays off instead. As much as I like having two days off in a row, like a "normal" weekend, I think it's very convenient to have a day off on a working day for many things to take care of, make appointments and stuff.
...EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEWW!!... I just sneezed while typing this, and sprayed my printer.  I hope it will forgive me!

I have cats over my place to take care of while my mom is having well deserved vacation, 2 black and white cats, which of one is actually my cat, thou i had to give him to mom since last place i lived in didnt allow to have pets and there was no way that i would have given him away outside of family, so i'm glad mom was able to take care of him as well. I've missed him so much, he's such cute and social little furball~

Anyone else has anything good happening? Or bad? It's good to get the negative stuff out too.

I have done nothing exciting, and like Kiku, I have Friday off.  I spent the day so far doing chores of my own such as cleaning my place, washing my car, vacuuming, stuff like that. Good day so far.

About to endure a once in a 1,200 year heatwave... in a region with fewer air conditioners than any other region in all of the USA other than Alaska.

Pretty eventful week, all told: "Juneteenth", the first day of summer, then Father's Day, all over one weekend. Celebrating dads, grads, Bugs Bunny*, brides and grooms, and gays all in one swoop.  It's a pretty busy month....

* Though, if you want to get perfectly anal about it, Bugs' real birthday is in either April or July, depending on who you ask.  There have been many flame wars about this in many forums... A lot of needless lives lost....

And @Nemesis Prime , good to know that you found a good solution for your little furball to live with your mom since you couldn't have any pets at your last apartment. I guess it's great now to have both cats staying with you while your mom is on vacation.  I love cats, but it would be difficult for me to have any pets at my place, so I'm happy about any chance to get in touch with cats at somebody else's house, or around my neighbourhood, etc.
