Oh no!  Looks like we got our first BAD episode the season. Those are some tough reviews guys.

Fluttershy's dressing down of Garble was fantastic and well written, but outside of that, this episode lacked.  Garble's redemption is completely at odds with what we'd seen of him before, as an irredeemable jerkwad. Spike just kept getting bullied and picked on without ever contributing anything.  Garble just got praised as a hero at the end when virtually learning nothing and everyone laughed at what he liked... so... huh?  All of a sudden everyone wants to learn poetry now?  You see, the thing about Garble's reformation that bothers me is that he did all of these jerkish things out of his own free will.  Then he got rewarded for it. There really are a lot of inconsistencies in this episode as well such as dragon's now being able to laugh fire... okay... Fluttershy also didn't seem too worried about a molten lava ball right next to here and how it physically could have killed her second before.

Not to pick on the writer, but Kim Beyer-Johnson hasn't had a good episode yet in this series.

Aw crap, another Spike sneeze.  They make him sneeze so much.  Why couldn't it have been Smolder or Ember?  Just another reason to mark down this episode.    It wasn't that good of an episode but I wouldn't call it HORRIBLE.  It was just run of the mill with not much thought put into it.

Let me not help.  I didn't think it was as bad an episode as you all thought.  It certainly wasn't great but it wasn't below a 5.  I would give it a 6/10.

I dunno. I just... found it decent. It's not something I can explain.

All I can say is, people will watch an episode and think of it whatever they will. And for some reason, I thought this one was decent. Sorry, I was never able to explain that kinda stuff.
