Nooooo, they leave because the fandom is being retarded and they don't want a part of it anymore and don't want to be associated with such cancer. It's what prevents some people from giving Steven Universe a try. Because the fandom is the worst form of cancer ever.

And honestly, it is a shame that certain fandoms have this happen to them.  It truly negates or puts a sour thought on shows that could be good, but people don't want to give them a chance because of the horrible fandoms.

And then there's just the fandom turns sour.
See the thing is Dee. Even if they leave the fandom, they'll still watch the show.
Just refuse to be part of the fandom anymore. Happened with my friend and SU. He used to do fanart and stuff but once the fans on tumblr nearly pushed a girl to suicide, he quit, stopped doing art and refuses to be part of the fandom. He just watches the show.

Before I joined the MLP fandom for example, I just kept to myself... and really, I am still not part of the fandom, I am part of the sub fandom, which is PSF, and out sub culture.

It sucks!  Some shows deserve so much more attention, but they either don't have a fanbase, or their fanbase is super dumb.

I am thinking of the TUFF Puppy Crowd a few years ago... or Danny Phantom stuff.

Why does it have such a big fandom?  All the shows stunk... and the games... well.... like... what made people latch on to that and be fans?  Is it like the first stepping stone for children becoming parts of fandoms, until they move up to other shows someday?
