I didn't know they were having a lack of updates.  Surprising considering how much effort Rockstar put into GTA Online.

Some rumors about RDR 2.

Article

Next gen version (even though it looks next gen, lol).

Remaster of RDR 1.

Takes with a grain of salt.

Rockstar is actually going to update Red Dead Online?  They had a newswire post on it.

It's very weak monthly updates.  No major DLCs.  So pretty much same as always for the time being.

This game had so much potential online, it's a shame it wasn't seen to fruition.  Even the main online story didn't even finish.  They started it and never finished it.  There is no conclusion.

I hate to say it, but the online's unfinished mess, takes away from the truly amazing single player experience.

While no one here ever really believed it, but there were rumors of a remastered RDR 1 and GTA IV.  If you believed those rumors, this new rumor will make you sad.

Rockstar Plans To Not Make Remaster of RDR 1.

Rockstar Plans To Not Make Remaster of GTA IV, focus on GTA VI Instead.

So Rockstar is doing a "managed decline" of RDR II online.  That's pretty much what they are saying.

Fair enough.  GTA Online is printing them money.

ROCKSTAR DONE WITH RDR 2?

Rockstar Games has updated the credits for Red Dead Redemption 2 and its Red Dead Online counterpart, seemingly saying goodbye to the open world western. Red Dead Redemption 2 studio Rockstar Games is busy working on Grand Theft Auto 6, and it seems to be shifting its attention away from its older games to focus on the new title. This was apparent recently when Rockstar Games sent out a similar message for Grand Theft Auto 5 and GTA Online.

Rockstar recently released a "thank you" to those that worked on GTA 5 and GTA Online, which many have taken as a sign that the company is saying goodbye to those games. Now a similar message has been released for Red Dead Redemption 2, accessible via the game's pause menu. As of the latest update, players can now head directly to the credits through the Red Dead Redemption 2 pause menu to see who made the game and Rockstar's special message for them.

The message reads: "Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who has helped create Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online." The message was added as part of the latest Red Dead Online update, which added some new missions for players to do in the game. While Rockstar has not outright stated that this is meant to be a goodbye to Red Dead Redemption 2 and Red Dead Online, that's certainly how the community is taking it, and it does seem to be the studio's intention.

The Red Dead Online update came as such a surprise because Rockstar had previously indicated that it was done releasing major new content for Red Dead Online. It would be surprising if Rockstar released anything substantial for Red Dead Online moving forward, so fans shouldn't expect any big new content drops at any point in the near future. Instead, they can count on Rockstar directing its resources to Grand Theft Auto 6, which is in active development at the company.

Grand Theft Auto 6 was finally announced earlier this year, though nothing has been shown of the game so far. All fans know in an official capacity is that GTA 6 exists, but leaks from reputable insiders have suggested that the game is set in Vice City and will feature a female protagonist. It remains to be seen if there's any truth to those leaks, but with Rockstar supposedly aiming for a 2024 release, hopefully information on the game comes sooner rather than later.

Rockstar continues to disappoint.

https://www.rockstargames.com/newswire/article/51ok43a4521a8o/red-dead-redemption-and-undead-nightmare-coming-to-nintendo-switch-and

Red Dead Redemption is re-releasing on the PS4 and Nintendo Switch... No current consoles, no PC.... Not remastered... No multiplayer. And it's $49.
