What are your thoughts on how MLP had to focus more on it's lore, depth, and character developments during Seasons 4-9 which made the show become deeper?

It was good because the show ran a long time, so the writers HAD to create more content to write stories about.  In turn, we got more depth to the show and more meaning to the characters and their world.  It was a positive change due to the longevity of the show.
