That is awesome!!! I would even say some pictures could fool people to being real!  What a cool mod and great photos!  Thanks for sharing! Certainly a good first one to use.

Narrow roads, iPad-like LED traffic lights (among more-or-less normal ones), very wild forests and suspiciously low traffic.

When message boards on US Interstates say drinking is bad, Russian one (at 13:53) is following the trends — washing your hands is good, and more often its better ;D.

^ It looks good!  But yeah, the traffic (like in all of their games) is suspiciously low.  I think in this day and age, they need a traffic slider now for people who can have more cars on their screen.

Also credit to them on the roads.  Look at the varied textures and how worn it looks.  They did a great job on those too.

So for the first time ever...
Spoiler (hover to show)
I installed a mod!!! Oh my gosh!  It was a seasons mod and if you are curious.  Link is here.
.

It is the middle of winter and my adventure begins with me picking up a load in Rawlin's, Wyoming with a destination in Sandpoint, Idaho, and one more stop ending in Everett, Washington.

I start very early in the morning and there is light snow in the ground.  The sunrise is beautiful and the temperature is 8F according to the truck's thermometer.

Starting early I make good time and whizz through Wyoming, Utah, and make it into Idaho.

As the sun shown, I got to see some of the best of Idaho's natural surroundings.  But this was short-lived...

I made it up the Lewiston Grade without much issue.  Snow plows had recently plowed the highway.

I made it to Sandpoint as the early winter sun dipped below the tree's and the moon was over-head.  It provided for a beautiful sunset.

With my delivery dropped off in Sandpoint, I slept till the early morning. I woke up to something white on my windows.

It was beginning to snow.  I grabbed my last delivery for the weekend and headed for Washington.  But it was extremely foggy and snow was beginning to fall heavier.

The rest of the trip was a slow and treacherous trip as it was nearly white out conditions all through Eastern Washington.  Spokane city skyline?  Nope, totally covered by heavy snow.

The snow continued heavily as I reached the Cascade Mountains and crossed over the mountain pass.  But thankfully the snow turned to rain as I entered the western half of Washington.  I didn't take any photos here as it was mostly just rain and you've seen rain before.  I was able to deliver my goods to Everett without any issue, it was dark, but it was a fun journey and fun to see the weather change throughout the journey.

Oh my gosh!!!! That looks so cool!  Awesome photos!  Does the snow effect how it drives?  I'm worried I would slide too much and have to go even slower!  Lol!  Very beautiful!  Please share more photos.  I might even try this myself!

Very cool winter photos.  Wow, it looks like a whole different experience and game.

I will have to watch the Russia vid when I get home.

Thanks guys! It was a fun change for sure.  I figure I will keep it during winter than switch back.  Sort of a holiday treat if you will.

@Rainberry Anyone can download it.  I left the link and it should be fairly easy whether installing for Mac or PC.  I use a Mac computer.  So the instructions for PC are linked.  It is as easy as downloading the file, and plopping it in the "Mod" Folder.  From there, start the game, go to the "DLC Browser" and activate the mod (which will appear there) and it should play!  If you need help, let me know.  It took me all of five minutes to get working from downloading to playing. :) (This is coming from someone who does not do mods).

I know a lot of Russian roads are surrounded by forest... but wow.... they did it SO MUCH BETTER than the old ETS roads through forests.  It's visually different and interesting, and when it finally comes out of a forest into a town or city, it's so much more realistic.  Good video of the HoR DLC.

As for the snowy photos by @Captain Ridiculous, those are great!  I was not expecting to see snow.  I also don't use mods, but since this one doesn't change anything except textures, I might give it a try.  It looks natural.

Well, as I remember, when the number of a next new version is mentioned — we can expect to see the beta less in a month ;D.

New update! :D

I have never done a special transport thing.  Is it not in the external contracts?

You need to have the eponymous DLC.

You need the Special Transport DLC and sadly it is not in external contracts.  You have to use "freight market."  On the upper left, you can find the icon to search for "special transport" cargo.  It is like a filter.

I got to buying a garage and owning my own truck in ETS2.  In ATS I got a garage and TWO trucks now.  I will hire someone soon.  I prefer ATS to ETS2.  I probably won't be playing it as much as ATS.  I think the cities and landscape is way nicer and more realistic in ATS.

I can say about my progress too ;D.

Since I didn’t play much due to lot of work, in both games all I have is a basic garage plus one truck (notice how the garage uses the same model, but the textures are completely different ;D)
