As I said earlier, that camera stabilization option is great when you want to record your off-road adventure ;D.

Wow.  New Northern Bay Area is AWESOME!  It actually looks accurate now!  They got that huge massive refinery in Richmond, the bridges, a more accurate flora.  I recognize places coming into San Fran now with this new update!  Sacramento is also 100 times better.  It seems real now.  I noticed a lot more urban development along the highways through the whole area, which is correct.  It's a very urban area and it feels lived in now unlike before which was mostly empty highways with trees around it.  No buildings.

Oakland still is bad and San Francisco still is old and wrong.  Hopefully that comes next.

It's weird to drive through San Rafael, but not be able to take jobs from it anymore. ;D

It even looks better now too! ;D

So what is everyone's favorite new city/town so far in the 1.44 updates (Both ETS2 and ATS)?

Klagenfurt is unrecognizable!  My garage city!  My home!  I always make sure to choose my garages right next to a fuel depot and repair shop.  With all the new changes, I will have to start closing down garages and moving them.  They are getting harder and harder to be right next to each other!

Sacramento is beautiful.  I haven't gone to Eureka yet.

And I have a complaint... a sad one. These are not the type of tree's Texas has.  Forests don't look like this in Texas. :-\  Hmmmm.  Evergreen, pine, and sitka spruce do not grow as they show in this Texas update.  This might be the first shocking incorrect thing I've ever seen from SCS.  Uh oh.  No part of Texas is as lush as these images show.  There are forested parts, but not with these types of trees.  Did they not create the right trees for some reason?

I noticed that as well, and so did a user in the blog post.  The more SCS see's this, the more they can fix it before release.  I think part of the issue was that all of the animated props for forestry that SCS has is based off of trees for the Pacific Northwest.  They didn't have a prop using the "proper" trees and they tried to fill it in with Pacific Northwest trees so the animated props wouldn't look out of place.  Sadly, they will have to change to the correct trees and remodel some of the animated props to the correct trees if they want this to be more accurate.

To continue this saga, SCS has responded to "A User" about the wrong tree's being used in the Forestry Blog Post of Texas. The developer, Simon Endt, said they will remove the wrong trees and get the right trees in there. :)  ^b-

That’s great!
I hope their map editor allows to replace tree types with ease (almost like Warcraft 3 map editor ;D), so it will not cause a big delay. This is a huge state after all.

Let's hope they can click a button and switch ALL those trees at once with something else. ;D  lol

Nice job to "A USER" for pointing that out and SCS taking action to it. ;D  [excited] [excited]

It's good news indeed.

So I take it everyone is pretty happy.  We got the 1.44 updates and tons of new stuff to see and play around with. :D  It seems to always be a good ride being an SCS fan and player of their games. :)

So, after a post about Canadian trip they are showing us the screenshots from a city named Butte, which has some old mines and the port without a sea ;D.
Interesting... I never heard about calling the railway station like that. But anyway, I like these pretty brick buildings in the city.
Also, I think one letter didn’t allow Butte to be the tourist trap like that Austrian village.  ::|

I woke up this morning and I knew there would be a new blog post.  LOL!  :D

Not only does Butte have a funny name (it is pronounced BEAUT as in BEAUTIFUL) it also at one time had the deepest hole in the world!

It is a fairly recent thing I think.  There are many inland industrial areas "Renaming" themselves as a 'port' because their goods go on trains to barges to ships, or some silly thing like that. lol.  In the US, "ports" get some sort of special status whether private or governmental, so they have to apply to become an official port... or something.  I'm not explaining this well.  A lot just call themselves an intermodal yard or a train yard.  But it often has some some form of bulk or container material being transferred from rail to truck, or to something else.

Just read this, lol.  DRY PORT is another term. There are hundreds across North America, if not thousands.  Transport of goods is huge on the continent.

I stayed in a Butte hotel just a few weeks ago! :D  They did a fantastic job so far.  I love the detailed churches they have done, the city has many.  The old oil infrastructure is cool.

Inland ports are all over the place, they just aren't called ports that much.  Even though a "port district" is often established around them.

I like how we are discussing inland ports, lol.  Pretty much all the "Rail Transport" depots in ATS are inland ports. ;D  We've had inland ports all along, but they just never were real and official.

Nice Butte update!  Butte is the butt of jokes because of it's name, but SCS is making it look fantastic. :D

Earlier in the game we had borderline cities, cities with user available airports and cities with big interchanges. El Paso combines everything ;D.
