THE POWERPUFF GIRLS

Many of you may remember, "The Powerpuff Girls."  Well, now it is 2016 and I would like to introduce you to Cartoon Network's latest show, "The Powerpuff Girls."  I thought it would be a good idea to have a topic discussion for the show and see how it plays out.  Will it be another success or not so much?  The first new episode premiered April 5, 2015.

Lets see how different it is from the original from 1998.  It produced new episodes till 2005.  This new series will either last or not.  Lets see if it has the same charm, or if time and new writers took away some of the magic.

Ah, I remember the old Powerpuff Girls. Good memories.
I do hope the new show is good, hopefully it doesn't go the route of Teen Titans Go *shudder*

I'm gonna watch the first new episode today. :)  It is OnDemand though I know there are others ways to probably see it. ;)

They have changed their designs, just a tiny bit.  I am not sure how the new voices sound either.  Though staples like Tom Kane (Prof U.) and Tom Kenny (The Mayor) will return for their roles.  I wonder if Mojo Jo Jo will have the same voice?

Blossom looks the same, Bubbles and Buttercup have small tweaks. I think I saw a trailer for it, from what I recall Bubbles sounded pretty accurate. IIrc.

Here's to hoping it is a good reboot and not one that will make us long for the past.  :)

I'm excited, and I kind of want to draw some fan art for this show.  But alas... my name is just AnyPONEDrawn.  Not AnyTHINGDrawn.  :'(

I saw the first two new episodes.  I will say this.  It isn't how I would start a series.  They already assume you know the girls, and it seems the stuff that happened in the past is canon.

Saw the first two episodes too.  It was an okay start.  I actually got used to the voices and enjoyed the new actors voices right away.

Many of you may remember, "The Powerpuff Girls."

I should hope so!  PPG is one of the "spiritual predecessors" of MLP:FIM.

I've not yet had a chance to look at the new version.  I'm not super optimistic, particularly given that the original PPG itself started losing steam in its last couple of seasons.  I'm unsure whether maintaining continuity will prove to be a blessing ("yay, they care about the existing lore!") or a curse ("they didn't know where to take it before, why would now be different?")

Still, fingers crossed.

Did anyone see the movie that came out some years back?   Was it good?
