I didn't realize she was raised in a life that surrounded her with crime.  Different from the other two. So she isn't as sweet and innocent as we think.  She knows the seedy stuff that goes on at the age she is in the official pilot and comics.

I like how the mechanic guy warms up to her, but realizes if he warms up too much, it could lead to heartbreak and risk her life in the future.
