Bringing the convo from ATaF thread here.

I looked around, I really hate computers that don't have the distinction between the left and right button on the track pad. It really bothers me. I just, it's a pet peeve because those trackpads tend to be shit (in my experience) and it's hard to get the correct click you want. Despite this, I really enjoyed the Surface Book. It is really pricey though. Even with a student discount, with tax I basically only get $50 off. And I don't get Microsoft word or anything.

But I like the size, I like how when I flip the screen I can keep it tilted for drawing (I dislike drawing flat, I like it at a slant). I liked the keyboard, it has the separation between keys that I like, and they aren't that crappy slimy flat type of keyboard I hate.

The main drawback though is its price. The Surface Pro is cheaper, and I might go for it, but I don't like how it tilts, with the keyboard face down on the desk or whatever. It just makes me afraid I'll break the keyboard.

Hmmmm, that will be a tough choice.  Sometimes you can go to a state that has no sales tax to buy a big purchase and save possibly hundreds on taxes.  How much is the computer you like?

That is a lot of money.  :O  It better do everything in the world and last you like 10 years.

They said it should last about 8 years. Can do some heavy gaming, like Fallout, and can do a lot of multi tasking.

I had no idea how much PC laptops look like MacBooks now.  Wow.  Same color, similar shape and design now.

Well to be fair....

Microsoft has done other things before Apple and no one gave a flying flip. But then Apple did the same thing (like the iPad) with less features and everyone shit a brick.

I think PC's can get away with resembling the thin build most computers have now anyway lol it's just things have gotten smaller and more compact and other geeky stuff I don't know.

Mac usually starts all the trends in design and computery stuff anyways.

Eh, Macs are white. Most other PC's I see are black or dark gray. And don't have the round edges and super thin build Macs have. Unless they're the small pathetic 2GB ones.

The first computer tablets that were marketable were back in the 80s and made by Apple believe it or not.  But they were more like Pom Pilot PDA's. 

Apple did create the first computer tablet that did everything we know and love today, and the iPad was it. 

As well, Apple's were white (or many colors), but since about 2006, they have been a silver color, which yes, PC then started doing as well, because PC's used to be mostly black or mustard white.

I used to love the multi colored iMac's.    They were so cute.  We had a lab that had them in varying colors.  We also had a PC lab.
