The ATS 1.50 Beta must be a reason this post is shown today ;D.
Also, I like how the steering wheel manufacturers (first it was MOZA, and now Thrustmaster joins the party) have finally took an idea to produce the truck-like montage kit for a steering wheel.

I actually use the adjustable mount (homemade from furniture pipes ) for the last three years, so I can confirm that with the right angle, the long drives are more comfortable. The only comment from my side is the wheel is much lower than your field of view, so any displays or indicators on the fancy wheels have no sense ;D.

They also included TAA in this update.  That's exciting!  Only took them 12 years, lol.

Plus the new rendering process in lighting and smoke, dirt, etc.  The new UI is also more flat.

Completely overlooked, we also get the new International LT refreshed design and a new interior for both the LT and Lonestar.

Yes, and of course all of this, lol! There was a lot more to this 1.50 update then I was expecting.  So this is all good news. Hopefully less glimmering objects in the distance.

Renault Trucks E-Tech T Coming to ETS2 + Design Contest!

Blog Post

[No pics because I am not on my computer to use a hosting website]

Exciting times are ahead! We're happy to announce that the very first electric vehicle coming to Euro Truck Simulator 2 will be the Renault Trucks E-Tech T! We're proud to partner with Renault Trucks once more, honoured by their trust in us to introduce their latest state-of-the-art, fully electric truck to our #BestCommunityEver.

As we eagerly anticipate the arrival of the E-Tech T, it's crucial to address some key considerations. Just like in the real world, transitioning to electric vehicles poses unique challenges in our virtual realm. While our team has worked tirelessly to bring the E-Tech T to ETS2, our in-game infrastructure isn't fully ready to support electric vehicles. Gas stations, initially designed for traditional fuel vehicles, can't easily become electric charging stations without major modifications.

Despite these challenges, we're dedicated to promoting electrification within our game. Integrating more EV trucks into ETS2, making them fully customizable and accessible, is our goal. This process will take time as we navigate game development complexities.

Currently, we're embarking on an experimental phase, our initial steps toward in-game electrification. That is why the E-Tech T, along with a few other electric trucks planned for the future, will be introduced in a special mode and will be accessible only through the Quick Jobs section. Our cautious approach ensures a smooth experience as we gradually integrate electric vehicles into our virtual world.

The good news continue to be posted ;D. This beta is also experimental, and its size is even more crazy — 24 GB in my case. It took almost an hour to make an update .
In addition to the same graphical updates as in ATS, we have two reworked areas of the map — the Rhine region in Germany and whole Switzerland! Just like new Californian update and two years-old Austrian update, the cities became significantly bigger, also, we have more mountain roads in Alps.
For me, it’s better to wait the full release — I hope it will happen less than in a month.
The video says the new Swiss scenery will look great.

The change in the map is almost incomprehensible how much has changed, lol!  There was a ton of work done by all the mapping teams this time around for sure.  The areas are completely different.  I like how the roads are smaller looking on the map.

There is so much to be excited about. Seriously! That new map rework looks great.  So much has been changed and that new urban area around Dusseldorf looks much better.  Switzerland is still three big cities. I wonder how it looks now as the current game is pretty barren.

No super impressive scenery on the screenshots, but at least I am glad to see the hills and nice trees ;D.

Continuing to ride on the older roads, I found an interesting fish market near Constanța I probably didn’t notice earlier ;D.

Also, today SCS have posted a hour-length video from DAF museum.

I might be in the minority, but I like it when they talk a little history about trucks.  Now i just wish they actively added some old trucks.

There are a lot of new trucks to be added (also, there may be some commercial agreement — not-so-desired DAF XD was added because of one of them), so the only reliable way to get the historic truck is to install the mod ;D.
Although, the mods are not always updated to the fresh version of the game.

I think if people want old trucks, they can do their mods.  This game is to showcase the latest trucks and of course travel the world.

The further steps into a good optimization announced for the 1.50 patch give us hope that these trees (and shadows from them!) will not cause such FPS drop as I had in France in 2017 ;D.

P.S. Some butthurt from ATS:
I know that fast-travel not always throws you at the service station located close to the center of the chosen city (and the depot you need), but Idabel is still the champion of frustration :-0.

No cargo from Idabel for you before you visit all those photo and video landmarks ;D.

They are doing a fantastic job with the trees and environments.  I got to say, this is really nice.
