Anyone gonna see the new Spider-Man Homecoming movie?

For some reason it's gonna branch off into a bunch of spin-offs, Sony exclusives only. No word yet if Tom Holland will be in those or they'll just be their own thing. I think Sony's just jelly that a lot of their recent Spidey films have been meh and don't really want Marvel showing them how it's really done, lol.

Yeah, I might.  I liked the "original" Spiderman that came out awhile with the Green Goblin.

Big movies coming out this weekend are Despicable Me 3, Okja, and Baby Driver.

Others are A Stork's Journey, The Reagan Show, Reset, and Inconceivable.

Okay...so Baby Driver has nothing to do with babies driving cars, nor  actress Minnie Driver.

VOICE OFF-PANEL:   Why would you think it did?!   ???

I don't know....    :(

I swear with each movie reboot Aunt May gets younger and more attractive. Even in the comics she's gone over the decades from wrinkled old crone to rather resembling Ellen DeGeneres.

Probably the biggest movie this weekend is Despicable Me 3.

On review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes, the film has an approval rating of 63% based on 119 reviews, with an average rating of 5.7/10. The site's critical consensus reads, "Despicable Me 3 should keep fans of the franchise consistently entertained with another round of colorful animation and zany -- albeit somewhat scattershot -- humor." It is projected to gross $85–95 million in its opening weekend.

What is Baby Driver even about?  The name doesn't sound interesting enough for me to look it up.

Baby Driver is apparently the next Edgar Wright production.  Wright's the director of Hot Fuzz and Shaun of the Dead.  Pretty sure he also did Scott Pilgrim vs The World.

But, until I leaned that by happenstance, I was also entirely uninterested by the title "Baby Driver".  I think the name will do it a disservice at the Box Office.

I think it's a getaway driver movie, so there will be crime themes, and probably the protagonist trying to disassociate himself from it, etc.  Not usually the first thing I'd go see, but I might well do so now I know it's by Wright.

The name is a major disservice.  If it is actually a driving movie, and it seems to be about a getaway driver, the name is horrible.  I would never have looked into it based on the name itself.

So the age of the driver sort of turns me off that they would make it too teeny bopper, but I like car chases and stuff.

After the amazing car chase action of "The Driver"... after the thrilling sequences of "Drive"... here's the newcomer to the getaway driver genre...

BABY DRIVER!!

*people turn and walk away*

B-but guys... Baby Driver! ...c'mon...

I don't like the name.  It's a turn off, and so it the driver himself just based off looks.  I know thats lame, but it's true.

I love driver related films though.

It looks cool with car chases, police chases, guns, car stuff, but I am not interested in the teenie-bopper love romance.  The driver himself... bugs me with the name, "BABY."
