Our fears came true to online games. Here is another example. They are NOT making an offline version. People have worried this for years. The Crew Is Delisted, Servers Shutting Down At The End of March 2024Ubisoft has delisted The Crew from all digital storefronts. Additionally, the online servers will be shut down on March 31, 2024.
On the Steam page for The Crew, Ubisoft left a message about the game's delisting. "The Crew is no longer available on the Steam store," the notice said. "All editions and additional content for The Crew are no longer available for purchase. The game will remain playable until March 31st, 2024, for all The Crew owners. After this date, the game servers will shut down, which means the game will not be accessible anymore."
If you go to the game's respective PSN page, it simply shows an error message. While you cannot purchase the game digitally on the Microsoft Store anymore, you can still seemingly play it through Ubisoft+ on Xbox One and Xbox Series X|S.
Since The Crew requires an always-online connection, once the servers go offline, the game will be completely unplayable, including its single-player campaign.
Currently, The Crew 2 remains unaffected and is still available on all digital storefronts. The latest entry in the franchise, The Crew Motorfest, was released back in September. Motorfest received significantly higher review scores than the original game or its sequel.Article
