What happened to Derpibooru?  It's all weird.  Was it hacked?  I noticed it today on March 31st.  It wasn't like this yesterday.  They are also threatening a lot of images will be lost and are asking for money?  Seems really shady.

EDIT: DERPIBOORU WAS NOT HACKED, They were trying to pull an April Fools joke...

I think it is them attempting to be a joke... but I'm not sure why.  It seems to be taking a stab at EA Games as well asking for money to earn DLC and remove "ads" which all appear to do nothing when you click them.  So it's probably a joke.

I was thinking it might be a ruse, but it also looked like it was hacked.  It looks like a mess right now.  I'll just wait a few days till the page cleans up again. :P  Ugh, it is even disallowing me to click on images I want to see but instead it has a stupid EU seal that says article 13. >:(

It is pretty poorly conceived.  More of a nuisance to people trying to use their site for various reasons.

I don't believe it was hacked. But it sure is a mess now.

They are playing a prank it seems.  But it is making access to things on their site horrible.  I don't approve of that.  I can't view images because they are blocked due to the dumb article 13 pics.

It is April 1st in Asia and most of Europe.  This is their April 1st joke.

World Clock

Sure it's kinda crummy that it randomly blocks images, but chuckle a bit knowing it isn't hacked.  :)

Unfortunately the images that have the "article 13" teaser over them cannot be opened.  Even if you refresh the page the remain locked in place.  This sucks because I was trying to organize some stuff and now I can't without the images for reference.

It also screws those artists a bit who get their stuff locked.

All valid points.  Especially someone just now uploading an image they want to share and it gets locked for until April 1st ends.  Their image will have gotten screwed and zero attention.

When you "buy the pass" you can finally open "locked" images, but it's still unfair for the people who's images are locked.  Most people who view the site without and account will have a hard time.

If you click on the comment number, it will take you to the image page. That worked for me.

It keeps logging me out!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  '

I would say it was a well planned joke, but coming upon it it takes some time to figure out how to work around their disastrous little messy prank.
