SODA'S REVIEW

Spoiler (hover to show)
So yeah, it was a fun episode!  It wasn't ground breaking, but it had some humor and touching moments. Parts of it just seemed like a giant montage because of the singing, but I really actually enjoyed that.  I liked seeing the country and all the different locations.  Many new places were shown.  Celestia and Luna had some great interactions, especially near the end.  I would say this episode was better in it's second half than the first half.  Overall it was good and I liked it.
8/10.

Celestia and Luna stole the show this time around.  We got see see them in a close light and laugh at all their experiences. I loved seeing all the new scenery and many background characters we've learned to love. There wasn't a super deep A plot, but it was still a lot of fun.  It especially had it's sweet moments at the end and a good dousing of humor at the very end at Twilight's expense.

My biggest concern was the lack of development from the Mane 6.  It's like all their past experiences were forgotten in this episode and they were kinda dumb.  But at the same time, I loved some of the humorous interactions they had.  So the B Plot with the mane six was the weakest part of this episode.

I’m quite sure they timed this episode so it would release on the solstice day/Summer Sun Celebration. Clever idea.  These latest episodes seem like they’re designed for little but immediate up-front viewing, and the moment you stop to think about things after the fact, they either reveal the paper-thinness of their appeal or fall apart altogether.  That isn't fully a bad thing, but it means the characters are taking the hit because of this.  I guess his is expected somewhat with a lot of new staff and writers in the last season of a beloved show.

8/10.

Not to mention "ZIIIPLIIIIIIINE!!!"

Had a good time watching it. ^-^

I loved this episode.  It didn't need to be deep or anything, it was just plain fun!  I was laughing and having a good time!  I enjoyed the music as well!  Great episode to me! 9/10.
