Can it be Tuesday? I am ready to go trucking in Switzerland.  My truck is parked in Austria and ready to go.

I am looking at that HUGE empty area between Valentine and Norfolk. Note there will be other Norfolk's eventually in ATS when they get to the east coast such as Norfolk, Virginia.   This map is smaller, but the SCS crew certainly made sure to add a lot of criss crossing roads.
I see another Sidney in addition to one we already have in Montana ;D. In the future, I think ATS should have an achievement for delivering the cargo between all cities with the same name.
Also, as you remember, there were empty corners on the early Texas map, but later they were filled with the roads connecting to future states. So, there likely will be connections to Yankton and Sioux City (oh, I remember that name — the site of a famous impossible landing) after the next map expansions.

Almost time to go trucking.

We will likely have two World of Trucks events.  One for ETS2 and one for ATS.

So, let’s go to the remodelled mountains! With new flat interface, funny button click sound and the improvements of the graphic engine. As the member of this forum, I must mention the improved dust clouds ;D.
Also, looks like they have improved the shadows to eliminate the illumination where is supposed to be dark.

The particle improvements are improved, lol.  I wish they would stick the trucks after awhile and show some dust and dirt, maybe some mud.  Get us some truck wash locations!

Not sure about the new UI interface.  But i think I will get used to it.  It doesn't seem as intuitive at the moment.

Make sure your trucks are ready to heavy hauls on steep inclines and your brakes ready for stopping on downward stretches.

The new interface will surely require some time to get used to it.
As with West Balkans DLC, my first screenshot contains some crazy stuff .

Not every people in the game is lucky enough to be drawn with a fair amount of polygons ;D, so here we have either a new T-1000 clone, or just a typical scene from Bocchi The Rock, where the main character freaks out and it is shown by drawing her in different style.
Generally, the mountain landscapes in rebuilt Switzerland have plenty of areas with a lot of obviously copy-pasted trees. In Geneve, the small houses on a distant hill look a little less natural than in Sarajevo from the latest DLC.

Anyway, the scenery of the reworked part of the map is wide! Now you feel the space around the roads (try the highway between Geneve and Bern), and the size of the cities you visit. The trees near the roads are made much more natural.
The photo trophies include several castles, and the ones I have met so far look not so impressive.

As the map says, the most curvy roads are in hard-to-access part (there are much shorter routes around), so for now I have seen only two roads close to the border.
Here we have a fence along the road (are there a lot of animals in that area?), but usually one guard rail is enough. Of course, Mont Blanc is marked as photo trophy, also, I have seen a huge vertical rock — you can put a lot of presidents here.

It looks beautiful.  I can't wait to start driving, but I am downloading the 24GB update. :P

My advice — try the most curvy part at the middle of the map. I just started the ride through it and it already looks great.

There is more snow ahead ;D.

UPD:
OK, we also have v.1.50 for ATS — this one is a little smaller, it took just 40 minutes for Steam to download these 17 GBs and update the game . I expect @MasterXtreme already has the screenshots to compare old and new part of the map ;D, but I will start to explore the updated California after Nebraska (it looks so small on the game map).
Or... I can take a peek at SR 1 ;D.

:o The 1.50 update log for ATS may be the largest I have ever seen for this game.

I might get comparison shots this weekend, but I am driving Switzerland first since it release first.  So it might be a bit, lol.  I can post the "old" California photos if people want to find the locations and post the new shots up themselves.

Time To Cruise Nebraska Event

SCS Blog

Thursday, the 16th of May, we celebrate the release of the new Nebraska DLC, by taking part in a new World of Trucks event – Cruising Nebraska! SCS is asking our #BestCommunityEver to achieve the community goal of driving 125,000,000 miles.

Using External Contracts or External Market, with a World of Trucks-connected profile in American Truck Simulator, the community goal is to drive 125,000,000 miles (201,168,000 km) while delivering cargoes to or from any city in Nebraska.

When a player completes a delivery to or from 12 different Nebraska cities, they will achieve their personal goal.

All jobs for the event need to be at least 100 miles each (161 km), or more.

Players that deliver cargo to or from 12 Nebraska cities will gain a personal World of Trucks Achievement and a Mighty Mammoth themed ATS truck paint job Steam inventory item.

When the community goal of driving 125,000,000 miles (201,168,000 km) during deliveries to or from any city in Nebraska is met, and if the player has also achieved their personal goal, then they will receive a hanging Box Turtle ornament Steam inventory item.

The event will be concluded on Sunday, the 14th of July at 23:59 UTC.

That’s... a long gallery :o.

But, at least we can see what’s outside... unlike those Norwegian tunnels ;D.
As a summary, we have a great source of screenshots on the basic map.
