Haven't gone to Nebraska yet.  Still in the Rhine River region.
I can say the opposite ;D. My load at work was very low these two days, so I had plenty of time to have a look at Nebraska.

So, let’s go to reworked part of Germany!
(and after that, I can finish the new Californian roads)

I am three deliveries in with the Switzerland trucking event. Once I finish that, I am jumping to ATS.  Switzerland is very pretty.  The graphics overall in the game look better, once I got the settings back to where I like them.  I actually like the new game UI as well.

The only time I have to drive is mainly on the weekends due to work.  So I only have one delivery in Switzerland completed.  You have to go to ten different countries, so I am trying to do the further away countries first.

(and after that, I can finish the new Californian roads)

Oh my gosh, I already forgot that was added to the game too!  :-0  I have to go there too!

While driving through the beautiful Swiss countryside, my game crashed.  It shut down the whole game and went to desktop. ??? In all my years of playing ETS2, since 2012, this game has never crashed on me ever.  I wonder if it was a random fluke accident, something with my computer, or actually the 1.50 update?  This game by SCS is usually solid through and through.

I had something similar a year ago, but it was fixed in one or two days with the next micro-update. Luckily, we have new roads in both games, so you can look at California for now ;D.

Hmm. I never thought about it, but I've never had the games crash either.  That means they are doing a good job.

Also, I have noticed that the switch between the game window and other windows is going much smoother now — without a black screen. From the other side, now the sky turns black for a moment when you switch between the skyboxes in photo mode ::).

Overall, I've found the whole new experience really good. The new shaders have done an amazing job adding shadows.  They've even made the old parts of the map look visibly dynamic with lighting, colors, and more.  I am shocked.  Time for some photos.

These photos vary from Switzerland, to Germany, to France.

Europe doing it's best impression of an American city skyline.

Finally wet roads and reflections! I love this addition!

What about the framerate? I feel like it was slightly improved (again! ;D), at least it drops not so much when you drive in the forest... so, the new shadows seem to be optimized better.

Honestly, my game has been extremely smooth.  With rain, night, forests, highly busy areas.  I've seen no issues.  The game runs smoother than it ever has.  I don't even have that powerful a computer and I am getting higher FPS than I did with this game a year ago.  It has improved roughly 5-10 FPS.  That is pretty significant.

Awesome pics!!

Loving the photos. I have yet to have any rain fall on me while traversing Switzerland. The new lighting, especially at dusk and sunset is impressive. The clouds almost seem volumetric at times.

So, now two Alpine countries are updated to the same level of quality ;D. It’s pretty easy to confuse between the photos from Austria and Switzerland, although the latter one has fewer distant mountains with the same copy-and-paste trees — if you drive from Torino to Geneve through the updated A32-E70 highway, the trees look natural and real.

As for the features introduced in the earlier patches, I’m glad the game still allows to buy the older generation trucks as new — they don’t normally appear in the dealer menu, but if you have at least one of them, just use «Buy Online — My Fleet Configurations — Customize Options» commands. I hope the developers will not remove this exploit, because sometimes it’s difficult to complete your collection due to very limited used truck market — I was holding one empty slot in my garage for several in-game days waiting until DAF 105 have finally appeared ;D. Now, when I have this truck, I can buy it in any number.

Oooh, more nice photos. The biggest improvements aside from the game's lighting is definitely the rock formations.  But I must say, the new shaders and lighting really makes a compelling argument that the old base map can still visually look good, even if it isn't as realistic.  The new shaders hide the flaws well.

I didn't notice the older trucks were added back to the dealer menu, but I didn't like how it removed them from the dealer menu.  I did not like having to hope a certain truck would appear in the used menu, just because it was older.
