So the big news recently is the announcement of the continuation of the popular TEST DRIVE UNLIMITED series.

Based on the name and what we see, I am thinking it will take place in the Middle east, possibly Dubai and a portion of the United Arab Emirates. Maybe Saudi Arabia...

New Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown Trailer Promises More Information This Summer
Article

Last summer, developer KT Games as Nacon announced Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, the third entry in the long-dormant racing series. In case you’ve forgotten all about it, or if this is your first time hearing about the series’ revival, a new cinematic trailer helps set the mood for the game while also promising when we’ll learn more about it.

The short but flashy video shows some high-stakes gambling that escalates to a head-to-head race. As the title suggests, the game signals the return of Solar Crown international racing championship from Test Drive Unlimited 2’s story. We still don’t know much about the title other than its description saying it will feature, according to its press release, “dream cars, customization, avatars, competition, open world, casino and style.” We do know that we’ll learn more information sometime this July.

The first Test Drive Unlimited launched in 2007 for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and PC and was noteworthy for its free-roam approach to racing (not unlike the Forza Horizon series) and near-accurate recreation of the Hawaiian island, Oahu. It was followed by Test Drive Unlimited 2 in 2011 which added the Spanish island Ibiza alongside Oahu as well as a more fleshed out narrative. We enjoyed the sequel quite a bit at the time, scoring it an 8.5 out of 10 in our review, which you can read here.

We still don't have a launch window for Test Drive Unlimited Solar Crown, but it's slated for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC.

Sadly this was expected...

Sony Confirms Gran Turismo 7 Is Delayed to 2022

Gran Turismo 7 is one of the biggest game releases of the year, and it’s not a secret many people delay buying a PlayStation 5 just to get a bundle when this new title is finally live.

Until now, we’ve been getting all kinds of mixed signals regarding the release date of Gran Turismo 7, with some sources claiming the game would launch in the first half of the year, while others indicated the whole thing would happen in Q3 or Q4.

Unfortunately, it looks like Gran Turismo 7 won’t actually be released in 2021 at all, as Sony has decided to push back the launch to 2022.

Sony didn’t say whether GT7 is projected to launch in the first or the second half of the next year, so it’s all becoming a waiting game that doesn’t seem to come to an end.

While Sony itself has probably been aware of these production problems, that didn’t stop it from teasing Gran Turismo 7 and dropping little tidbits that caused the excitement to go through the roof. Earlier this year, for example, Polyphony Digital boss Kazunori Yamauchi announced a return back to the roots for Gran Turismo 7.

“I think I was able to make a fairly ambitious prospect at Gran Turismo Sports. So at Gran Turismo 7, we're going to go back to the royal spirit of full volume, like 1 or 4, while inheriting elements such as the championships we've achieved in sport, and we're going to give you the best Gran Turismo experience of the moment. So if you know the old Gran Turismo, I think it smells a little nostalgic,” he said.

There will be some overlap with the Simulation topic, but this is very much a much needed topic.

Wreckfest is a gem of a game for those who haven't played it.  If you enjoyed the games Dirt to Daytona and Test Drive: Eve of Destruction, this game is as close you will get to that currently.  It's a good game.

^ You're right.  It's a good game.  I'd even say great for racing and wrecking if that's your thing.

Not really racing... but it's an auto soccer game.

NASCAR is coming to Rocket League.

Rocket League also signed with F1.  So both NASCAR and F1 will be in the game as modeled vehicles! That will be fun.  NASCAR is coming out first featuring many high profile teams and drivers.  I am sure it will be no different with F1 having many teams and drivers featured.

Surprise announcement by Monster Games.  A new racing league called SRX is in the work by many NASCAR heroes and legends.  It is a racing league that will race on dirt and pavement, and feature drivers from racing leagues around the world!  Monster Games announced a new game just a few days ago and it released on 5/28/2021.  Very fast window!  Oh, and the game comes default with over 50 racing tracks located all across the US.  Now that's impressive!

^ Oh sweet!  Good for SRX!!!  I will definitely look into this game, maybe buy it right away depending on price.  I assume they will list it at $29.99.  50 tracks?!  WOW!!!  I wonder which ones they have!  Thats awesome!

Agreed, Wreckfest is an amazing game, and it is made by the same developer team responsible for the FlatOut game series, granted they only developed the first few games in the series. FlatOut, FlatOut 2, and FlatOut Ultimate Carnage. Definitely worth picking up if you want an older arcade destruction derby style racing game with ragdoll physics.
They even have mini games where your goal is to jettison the driver out of the car to score points; doing things like long jumps, stone skipping, darts, bowling, and more.

I like Wreckfest too!  I haven't played it since last year, but I really enjoyed the game.

I used to play Flat-out, but before that I played Destruction Derby and DD2. My favorite game in this vein was test Drive: Eve of Destruction.  If you've never played the game, you guys should.  It is pure carnage with a killer soundtrack (At the time).  This game was really under the radar. I would say it is still better than Wreckfest.  So many game types including SOCCER CARS and racing big school buses, tug of war with cars, trying to get away from other drivers in an arena.  It was the ultimate game no one knew about.
