So I will start with this.  It screams 1980s and wanting to show off technology and how cool computers, bee bee beep boop bop beep, really are!  SO COOL!  The car does16 computer read out scans per second!  TECHNOLOGY!!!!  Background singers, announcer explaining everything!  Star Wars, SciFi inspired graphics!

Just imagine if we still had ads like this!  Full on 80s rock ballads to go with the ad, how crazy cool!  Look at the image they are representing that Pontiac exudes!  It makes me want to hop into a PONTIAC!  WE BUILD EXCITEMENT!!!!!  *Plays electric guitar riff and slides on knees.*

Last post from me now.  So hopefully you watched the previous Pontiac ad above, at least it had a Firebird in it, which was a fun sporty car....

But now, look at this Pontiac LeMans.  This care does not represent that name well at all, lol.  They play the same hyped up music for a turd economy hatchback.  Very funny how they build it up still.

Those were all extremely corny, and I think I actually remember the Pontiac ads.... I feel old and sad.  But I was really young.  Or maybe I am just nuts and don't remember them.

So GM seems to have been like the leaders of making cheesy car ads.  I up you one with the Oldsmobile ad here.  They clearly sing, this isn't your fathers car....

GM must had had a special buy 2 themes, get 4 free kind of thing.  Every brand of theirs had a rock theme song.  You can listen to Oldsmobile's here, which the chorus is screaming, "Not your fathers Olds."  Listen here (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UFVg7YnqS1Q) then enjoy this spy themed ad with explosions and tear gas?  Yeah, that is how you sell a car to the younger demo.

Oh my gosh!  These are terrific!  Already I've had more laughs today with this then I expected.  Those are ridiculous.

Here is one that only some quality folks in the south could produce... some local dealerships.  There are so many bad local tv ads, but hopefully this will make you laugh.  It involves turkey's, guns, and turkey's with guns.  Because screaming in an ad so the mic cracks if a good thing in an ad.

This isn't a bad ad, it's just funny.... because IT'S AN ADVERTISEMENT.

Those car ads were ultimate cheese factor.  The Pontiac ones and the Oldsmobile ones especially made me laugh out loud.  Also... IT'S A CAR.  :D

The Steven Seagal energy drink isn't real and it was never advertised on tv.  It was a mock thing.

All the cars ads were funny including the salespeople with guns, that was pretty bad, lol!

Cheesy and funny.  Vern Fonk Insurance is a local insurance company in the Seattle area, up in Washington, but they are pretty well known for ridiculous commercials.  How about some Back to the Future?

All right... those who have followed me for some time, as you know, are familiar with my fascination-- some might term it an obsession-- for these spots.

It's a local tax prep place here in the Mid-South that got into some trouble a while back for defrauding its customers.  After overhauling its public image, changing its name, and shaking up its management, MMT appears to have dropped completely off the map... taking its ads with it.    :(

These are all pretty good.  I do find the Vern Fonk one very funny and the "it's a car!" one.  Mo Money was a jumbled mess!  Lol!  I barely understood what anyone was saying.

Vern Fonk was great. :D  "Fonk!  You ran over me!"  Lol!  Thought they said something else.

Mo Money Taxes, what on earth?  It was a crazy hot mess.  I wouldn't get my taxes through them with the professionalism of that ad, though I probably wouldn't get my insurance with Vern Fonk either. :)

Well, Vern Fonk (real name Rob Thielke) passed away last year, but I'm presuming his firm is still going.  The mo' Money boys are alive and well... probably hiding out on a beach in Aruba and spending their ill-gotten gains on mai-tais and scantily-clad native girls.

Yes, the Mo' Money ads embrace the ghetto subculture, no doubt.  Another one in which we hear "Superman" used as a verb and try to figure out what the fat guy is saying when he shows off his atrocious shoes (it's "baby legs", not "baby makes" or "bathin' apes").

What is going on in their ads?  I heard he's gonna go all superman on your and something about baby legs?

A lot of them are parodies of old TV shows like Batman (1966), Miami Vice, and Dukes of Hazzard, but they drop in a lot of rap references like "Show me my opponent" and "Blame it all on alchohol".   Like I said, ghetto, ghetto, ghetto.  Although I admit if I had a business,  I'd hire that guy for my ads just for the curiosity factor. It's like a show with a really bizarre and offensive premise -- you watch it out of curiosity once or twice and then find yourself hooked, binge-watching till the end, just to see how it comes out.

Here's the ad that got them sued by comedian/filmmaker Tyler Perry.

I think that gal behind the bench is an actual judge on one of those daytime courtroom shows.

You know your commercial is bad and cheesy when Svengoolie makes fun of it.

The real spot. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LtOSCQ57uDk)

I got two new ads for being the absolute worst in terms of music.  The music is horrible.  Everyone I've talked to about these (Yes, I talk ads with people I guess) agrees these are among the worst currently.

First the TACO BELL "YA YA" song ad.  No one can even understand what is being said.

Temu, the Chinese buying website which sell mostly junk like Wish, is pretty much mocking idiots to "shop like a millionaire" on their junk website.  The song is annoying and pretty much is an ear worm.

Oh, man, I love that one.  These furniture store ads, though, I can't take seriously.
Did no one tell them what "nards" meant?    :-]

Speaking of paint, this Ace Hardware campaign deserves to be made fun of, too.
Metaphor, my butt.  Y'oughtn't wear paint, either. (https://youtu.be/lKlxWlnFeuM?t=13)

I hate that Taco Bell ad.  It sounds like a demonic chipmunk speaking words!

Yeah, like I said before (https://psfforum.com/index.php?topic=501.msg625671#msg625671), my [rooster crow] ain't complainin'....

Imagine that song played over this .gif.

The band's name is "bludnymph", though "Demonic Chipmunk" sounds like a great band name, too, actually.

I'd give a listen to a band called Demonic Chipmunk.  Would probably be Alvin and the Chipmunks during their rebellious period...

They had one, way back in the eighties.

This was right about the time the Chipettes got... se (http://images4.fanpop.com/image/photos/17100000/A-bye-bye-kiss-the-chipmunks-and-the-chipettes-17150173-720-576.jpg)xy (https://www.pinterest.com/pin/23432860534024564/). [shudders]

Speaking of the eighties... Pee-Wee Herman does an anti-drug PSA?
Plus, the set looks like a darkened movie theater...the last place you'd ever want Mr. Wee.    ;)

^ OOF

That PSA was made in 1987, as part of a series of PSAs aired in theaters, for Nancy Reagan's "The Thrill Can Kill" campaign. The first PSA to be shown, had Clint Eastwood talking to us. Other PSAs had Olivia Newton-John, Ally Sheedy, Rae Dawn Chong, Roy Scheider, Bette Midler, etc.

Obviously, the Pee-Wee Herman one is the most popular. The Clint Eastwood one also gained some traction - it helps that his PSA was followed by an explanatory message given by Nancy Reagan, with Clint at her side.

The campaign had a bit of a rocky launch, though. The PSAs first appeared before "Jaws: The Revenge" and "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace"... ouch. At least, people still went to see those, but... how unfortunate. XD

(Yeah, lol, I have a bit of an interest in old PSAs and stuff.)

I HATE THAT TACO BELL SONG.  Oh my gosh.  I thought I was the only person.

Haven't seen that Temu ad, but it sounds annoying.
