I did I tried it was fun so I kept it brakeless but I stopped using it after a while.

Joey on Derpibooru is the kind of mod that the site needs, but doesn't deserve.

Well… I've already known he was a very good Admin (not a mod) on the booru, but recently I've going a whole new form appreciation for him for what he's been doing for the site. The mods there are all great, but Joey just sticks out as being one of the most relaxed and laid back members of the staff there in general while being super hardworking. And seeing how chaotic the site can be, he's very patient and does his job well.

Honestly, the whole staff there is wonderful. I joined it back in Late 2015(?), and while I have heard of it's predecessor— Ponibooru and how it was shut down so early into it's run from years ago when I was getting into the fandom, I had no idea why it was until I spend some time looking through Derpi. The staff that runs Derpibooru is so large and responsible with how the site runs, it's easy to see how it has lasted more than half a decade longer and is still running, while PB which lasted for a little more than a year and a half.

Ponibooru redirects to Derpibooru though.  Ponibooru was different people running it?

Depribooru is very nicely organized and a great place indeed.  Some of the staff there talk about stuff on our site with great respect which is nice.

Ponibooru was the original MLP image booru. The site was founded even before the famed Equestria Daily, it's that ancient.

But yeah, the site before shutting down alrraud had some issues with moderation and how content was handled. The story goes that a user from there who (on Derpibooru at least) who went by the name Clover the Clever. He and some other members wanted to try creating a small temporary booty that would fix some of Poni's. The site waa created on January 2nd, 2012. It was originally gonna run for a few months. In the summer of that year, Derpibooru would have been shut down had it not been for a faithful event that would shanhe its history. The running mod at the time contacted them that Ponibooru was going to shut down in June of that year. Come June 17th (or 18th, I forgot), Ponibooru went into read only mode and the next place to go was Derpibooru. Due to the massive influx of traffic, servers would be constantly going down and it was slow. It had gotten so bad that EQD had to warn them in an update tonone of their posts that the site was not prepared for such an influx. If you got to the site's stats, no other point in time has ever had reached such a point like that day. But yeah, once they got their staff together. they slowly improved the site over the years. And while I'm not sure what happened in between, the site grew in popularity among memebers of the fandom to the site it is today.
