^Oh, I forgot that Boise is too close to Ontario.

Today SCS presents news about Iberia DLC: Architecture & Villages of Iberia

I am concerned about the «...don't forget to slow down and take a moment to enjoy the history...» part ;D. I hope that there will be a plenty of fast roads in upcoming DLC, and this slowing down will not be obligatory.

The villages look great.  I cannot wait to traverse Spain and Portugal.

By the way, does anyone know a mod to remove the barriers (XXXXX's) on roads you cannot go on?  I hate how they always appear and ruin any pictures I try to take.  They ruin the immersion.

Here and here. But you still have to watch the navigator to avoid funny scenes ;D — that’s why I don’t use that kind of mods.
You know where to go ;).

As always, the update is out JUST before the new state. :D

That means when 1.38 is out in ETS2, we can expect Iberia soon there after.

Looking forward to the Las Vegas revamp.  It will be perfect.  I will head there then up to Utah for the Idaho update. :)  Also curious about some of the other updates to El Centro and truck stops.

I doubt they will release Iberia in summer. So it’s probably gonna be after 1.39.
Also,
Looks like turned upside-down Nevada ;D: a small portion of Interstate at north, a decent part of it at the south, and lot of secondary roads.
And, AFAIK, it’s another state where you can drive triples and RM doubles, so they will become slightly more useful.

The trucking challenge that comes with it is a good one.  Forcing people to drive to EVERY town for a delivery.

And yes, they added many roads from other states such as Oregon, Washington, Utah, and I think I see Nevada on there, all getting new roads to Idaho.  This is going to be fun! :D

I have my route planned... will I follow it?  Of course not.  I will get distracted and go elsewhere. ;)

Iberia is probably a lot further away than we think.  Probably fall.

Well, I decided to enter Idaho as a cheater — by buying a garage in Coeur d’ALene. This city already looks lovely (if not count the traffic light chain, where you will probably lose 10 minutes or more), just look at this intersection:

So I think it’s a good starting point — you can see nice architectural and natural scenery from the very beginning — like a large lake just a little south of Coeur d’ALene or the «movie camera» point near Deepgrove.
And there was some graphic bug, which I found at 3rd or 4th minute after my exploration of new DLC started ;D:

But of course, it’s much better than holes in road near Kennewick or Portland’s Chemso, which were present some time after corresponding DLCs came out. I think that next month will be a couple of upgrades with corrections of newfound bugs.
Also, I think that Salmon wins the prize for the most isolated city on the current map version ;D. Before Missoula from Montana will appear there, you need to go for 550+ miles just to make a delivery from Salmon to Grangeville.

I haven't been to western Idaho yet. Saving the best for last.  But when you go into Pocatello, if you know the film "Napoleon Dynamite" look for the many references SCS snuck in!  Lol!

As well, I noticed that SCS updated many of the AI cars and gave them better wheels and differing wheels.  I haven't noticed any issues or problems with Idaho yet in my foray.  I've been all over the east and just recently went from Salmon to Twin Falls.  Amazing route to Salmon.

This is going to sound funny.  So the night before the Idaho DLC release, I drove from Portland to a delivery in Spokane.  I stayed at my  garage in Spokane (Which by the way, makes the most amount of money of all my garages and it's not my home garage.  It makes $20k more than any other and it doesn't even have highly ranked drivers.  If you don't have Spokane as a garage, do it and make a lot of money)

So anyways, I didn't want to see the best of Idaho from Spokane, WA right away, so I took a delivery from Spokane to Winnemuca, AZ so I could drive into Idaho from the south.  But then when I got there I figured I do one more delivery to Logan and come into Idaho from the southeast.  Lol!  I know, I'm silly.  I could have just driven right across but didn't.  I physically drove around then went in.  My first delivery stop was in Idaho Falls.

SCS's ATS team has improved so much.  Where they excel is rural and small towns.  I love them and I wish the small towns could be more interactive such as using the gas stations at them.

Coeur d'Alene aka CDA, is a beautiful town.  I have been there many times.  It is part of Spokane, Washington's metro area and because of that CDA and nearby Post Falls, Idaho are growing really fast because things are cheaper there than on the Washington side which is far more developed with infrastructure.  CDA draws in lots of tourists and for being such a small city, they've already had some mid-rise building development.

CDA.

I will be excited when Montana is added because they will allow us to drive through some of the very interesting mountain sections of I-90.  Check out Wallace, Idaho and around that area on Google Maps.

I'm enjoying it so far.  I am liking Idaho more than Utah DLC so far.

Oh, I very like the views from highways located on the elevations here:

Choose the way of transportation — car, train or even a boat:

The locations where green is seen only on road signs, are present here too:

And this dark street would be a nightmare for Chiyo-chan from Azumanga Daioh (or Scootaloo from «Sleepless in Ponyville» ;D).
