My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - School Daze Parts 1 & 2
It is the 1st and 2nd episode of season 8. This is the 170th and 171st episodes overall. The episodes premier March 24, 2018.
SYNOPSIS:
When the Cutie Map expands to areas beyond Equestria, Twilight Sparkle decides to open up a school. Twilight and her students must then save the School of Friendship when it is threatened by an organization.
-
Hype, hype, hype! :D
-
I'm worried based off the synopsis. :( A school? Ugh.
-
Who knows what may happen? I look forward to it.
-
Maybe it's a school of LOOOVVVEEE.
*Love music plays*
-
Nah. If that were the case Cadence would be there
-
Maybe she is? We don't know!
-
Cadance might be the LOVE SCHOOL principle.
You've been a bad student... go see the principle. Bow-chicka-wow-wow.
-
I'm just curious where the location of this school will be. It hasn't been specified yet

My back yard.
-
My guess is it will be at Twilight's castle or around Ponyville.
-
I guess we will find out saturday
-
Yep! :D
-
I have totally avoided all spoilers. :)
-
Me too. Never watched or looked at the spoilers, minus the some possible character designs.
-
The show has been leaky for a while. Other than episode synopsis I avoided the spoilers like the plague
-
Good job gents! :D I can't wait for the season to start. Sad this is the last season though.
-
Actually nine is. They confirmed that
-
We get another season of MLP:FiM after this? Really?
-
I didn't know a season 9 was approved. So close to 10 seasons! Who would have expected this show to run so long!
-
Yep, here is going to be a season 9! :D :D
-
It makes me happy we have over 20 episodes of goodness to go at least.

My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic - School Daze Parts 1 & 2
SYNOPSIS:
When the Cutie Map expands to areas beyond Equestria, Twilight Sparkle decides to open up a school. Twilight and her students must then save the School of Friendship when it is threatened by an organization.
So Equestria High will now have a "real-world" universe counterpart? Or will it be more like an academy/training camp for elite youngsters, with the Mane Six, and Friends as its faculty?
-
Twilight's the principal, the mane 5 are teachers, Starlight is the guidance counselor.
-
We don't really know yet. "Twilight and her students" can mean she is the principle or teacher or both.
-
Season premier tomorrow! :D Can't wait!
-
I'm excited!!! Here we go!!
-
Only a matter of hours now.
-
Initial impressions?
-
So the movie is canon according to this season 8 premier. They reference it right away from the beginning.
-
So I am going to go through my live watch starting right now!
-
The intro didn't change STILL.
I am curious as to where Twi will make the school go.
-
The EEA!!! Equestria Education Association!
-
This is pretty cool world building so far in this episode. I like it.
-
They are creating a nation's mentality to take over the world!!!!
-
Don't know how I feel about the Mane 6 being teachers... don't they have real lives? Do they get paid for this?
-
So the EEA allows non certified teachers with no formal education as teachers to be teachers?
-
Starlight a guidance counsellor? Is that a good thing?
-
Smolder is cute.
-
What about Rarity's clothes shop, Applejack's farm work, and Rainbow Dash's Wonderbolt duties? Will the CMCs step up as TA's on occasion when they're absent, for class credit?
-
Who are these beak-nosed pegasus? Wow. Weird.
-
What about Rarity's clothes shop, Applejack's farm duties, and Rainbow Dash's Wonderbolt duties?
Exactly! What happened to all that? I hope they don't stop that stuff. They built it up for years!
-
School isn't meant to be fun you students! You're there to learn!
-
Indeed they do. If Tempest returns it will be interesting to see her in the show's animation style rather than the movie's.
-
Racial issues taking place! Did Applejack just tie a student with a rope?
-
So the EEA is failing students all through Equestria? Is that we I am learning?
-
I recognize the voice of that white Neighsayer guy. He reminds me of someone....
-
Oh yeah, he sounds like "The Brain" from Pinky and the Brain!
-
Wow, those students just screwed everything up in the worst way possible.
-
School shut down!
-
Maurice LaMarche on MLP:FiM? That sound you here is a thousand fanboys swooning.
This one isn't online yet, but I'm catching up on back episodes. A mystery at a movie set. "Equestrian Girls" meets "Scooby-Doo". Pretty easy case. I guessed the suspect's identity almost immediately.
-
Part 1 is down. It had it's ups and downs... but I wasn't a big fan of the school thing so far. I do like some of the newer characters.

-
Watching Twilight cry and be mopey was cute and sad at the same time. Starlight did a good job at helping here.
-
An international war over this? Wow.
-
Sand Bar is funny. I like him.
-
WOW! Return to the former Luna/Celestia castle.
-
I find all the Yak characters to be annoying, loud, and obnoxious.
-
I figured more would be done with the return of the Pillars in this season . I mean, Star-Swirl the Bearded would make a great headmaster for the magic school/mentor for Twi. Or would that be a little too "Harry Potter" to suit the fanbase?
-
The episode was good. Combined I would give is a 6/10 for being passable. I don't care if we see these students much anymore, and I hope the school isn't the main focus this season. I found the episode to be alright and somewhat meh. Some good character interactions though which was nice, but there were so many characters, it made it hard to spend much time on each character.
-
Who are these beak-nosed pegasus?
Hippogriffs... they played an important part in the MLP:FiM movie (which also introduced Tempest Shadow). Now I'm glad I watched it last week, so I'm not all lost and stuff.
I wonder... if she traveled to the EQG world, how would her broken horn manifest itself? Would she be missing an arm or have a huge scar on her forehead, or something?
-
Well she's already less horny then a lot of other ponies. XD
-
(glowers at BLURR and my face falls into a frown with a "blarrt" sound. Surprised, I contort my features a few more times, producing the same flatulent noise)
Oh, no! I-I'd better go see a doctor. My uncle died of "fart face"! ;)
But, in all seriousness.... watching the episode now, gracias to the Sodester.
So... what, no comments about the dress Rarity made to cheer up poor sad Twi? What do you call that look, "jester chic"? ::)
-
Well she's already less horny then a lot of other ponies. XD

Now I'm glad I watched [the movie] last week, so I'm not all lost and stuff.
I watched the movie just now for that reason, lol. I'll watch the Season 8 premiere later tonight.
-
I'm thinking, if they can get Moe LaMarche to sign on for a few more episodes, Chancellor Neighsay will serve as Twilight's unofficial nemesis (http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/DeanBitterman) during this season's arc, at least until she eventually wins him over... or he actively tries to sabotage the magic school somehow and ends up losing his job.
-
So I watched it. Pretty decent. I liked the characters. :)
Save for Neighsay the racist jerk. I hate racists, jerks, and especially racist jerks. ::|
Can't wait to see more of this season. ;D
rarity was adorable in that outfit :3
-
It was an okay season start... maybe one of the weakest to date. I did like some of the characters and what they brought to the episode. I did enjoy hearing Neighsayer's familiar voice. This episode tried to tackle racism, but again it very simple and idealistic. I don't think it accomplished much of anything.
That said, I really look forward to more normal/regular episodes for the season.
I give today's episode a 6/10.
-
Hmmm. I've only seen part one so far.
-
I didn't actually like the series 8 premier. So I am hoping the rest of the season goes to a more normal set up. 4/10.
-
Weak season opened. I remember watching this feeling this was going to be a poor omen for the season. I am not sold, nor am I still sold on the school. Just seems like a gimmick that was un-needed when there is so much character building that can be done. Writing was fine, but lazy at times, and pacing was passable.
5/10.
