Also talks of possibly playing the whole posse at various times, or anytime.  But I think you will probably just play as one protag.

The landscape seems to be in a plains area abutting some mountains. So maybe Colorado type area?

I'm not sure the landscape, but since there are mountains, some plains, and deep forest, it is probably a fictional state against the Rockies.

That is a pretty safe bet there.  Not quite a Wyoming or Montana, at least from what we've seen yet.

Some of the pictures show a town in a forest with very wet roads... so it could be further north and to the west then we think.

New Austin in RDR 2 was based on a part of Texas and of course Mexico to the south.

There were two states in RDR.  New Austin and West Elizabeth.

I liked Blackwater.  I used to hang there with my friends and online we would try to get a VIP safely to Armadillo without the other group killing the VIP.

One of my favorite regions in RDR 2 was Tall Trees.  I loved the trees, the rivers, and the nature.  I hope RDR 3 has much more forest.

I know forested regions use up a lot more power and juice from devices, but they were awesome.

I didn't go to Mexico much.  Didn't care for it.  Too many bandits.
