It would mean more competition.  But who is to say that the new company wouldn't try to rock the boat and instead just mimic or try to improve what SCS has already done?  You never know.

But if there is more competition, it might force SCS to think outside the box more and work on new gimmicky things, which might not be good.

Nice! :D  Finally.  I was starting to get a little nervous (ok not really.  I know SCS is too good to us).

ATS and ETS are truly the only games that I actually buy almost all the DLC for.  The only things I don't buy are paint jobs, lol!

^Lol indeed.
It’s no wonder that having over 40 official paint job packs has given ETS2 fans a lot of fuel for jokes about «Paint Simulator».

Am I the only one who wishes they had more normal paint jobs in ETS2?  Too many have these designs I would never put on my truck and you can't modify the colors.  All I want are designs that I can change the colors too. :D

ATS is even worse in that aspect with so little paint design choices.

Of course no one cares, ’cause we so got used to 2-3 posts about upgrades in a week.
(I see some Skyrim influence in the last two screenshots in this post. Hmm, The Longer Trucks VII: Idaho — sounds pretty good to me ;D).

I really hope since the vacation months are mostly over, we will hear some exciting information soon, or maybe even see some video from Colorado.

P.S. So, what about the SSAO? Is there someone who turns it off because of high framerate drop, or the latter is exagerrated? I still think that performace with shadows is a weakness of these games’ engine — even when big cities at new states doesn’t make my PC to slow down the FPS, when I switch to external camera while driving in a forest from 2017+ DLCs, it looks like I watch the movie on the film projector and someone is playing with the film reel by slowing it down and releasing. And driving at night or with less shiny trailers makes that framerate drop almost insensible.

I'm going to be honest.  When driving in the truck, I don't really notice the difference with SSAO.  But if I go to camera mode and fly around and look at things, then I notice.  I am glad they did it, but I haven't really seen a big difference.  On one of my computers though (the lesser one) it does slow things down so I do have to turn it off.

I haven't had any noticeable slow down on the SSAO settings.  I don't have a fancy computer either.

Ok, since my video card (bought about a year ago) never showed me 100% load (typically around 85-88% in old ATS parts and 90-94% in Baltic forest), my 8 year old CPU is likely limiting the overall performance .

But anyway, I see that posting news in Saturday is becoming SCS’s tradition. Today they are presenting the gold mining area:

Love the screenshots. And this warning:
«Just make sure to take extra care when driving on the dirt roads that lead into the delivery points».
Oh, yeah, I know. I remember the road to Bellingham’s Deepgrove base :-0.

SCS has been posting Saturday posts now for the past few weeks.  This is getting weird, but I AM NOT COMPLAINING. :D

It would be interesting if you could actually fall off a cliff... even if the screen just turns black and you lose your load and your truck gets 100% damaged.

The SCS’s love for invisible walls will likely not allow this to happen ::|.

It is those invisible walls that make me have no tension or worry on cliff side roads.

But I am happy they are making the walls further from roads (at least in ATS) ever time.  I love finding out I can drive through an unmarked parking lot to enter a supply depot. ;D

These files were also posted in the game files.... Hmmm.  Some can be figured out, but ATS has an extra that can't be solved.  Also nice names SCS. ;)

This is how trucking sim development looks.
 ;D

Well, if they have so serious approach to ambient sounds authenticity, I am even afraid to think what else they can make for this game in 1.40, 1.41 and further.
