So when I was younger, there was this cement storm water stream that went under beside this one sidewalk.  One day some friends jumped over it with ease, and me being the only girl in this little group, wanted to show the guys I could do it too.  So I jumped, but didn't make it.  I smacked the cement with my whole body, the side of my face hit the cement too, then I fell down into the storm drain water which was freezing cold and running at a pretty good pace that day.  I was bleeding from my nose, my hands had cuts, so did my knees, and I was soaking wet. 

They were very sweet and quickly came to my aid and pulled me out.  They didn't taunt me with any jokes or say anything bad.  We just kind of didn't talk about it after they took me home.

Aw that's so sweet of your friends. Also, didn't know you were a chick haha. But I get that feel, wanting to do something cuz all your guy friends did it. I was always hanging out with guys. But yeouch, that sounds super painful. And also gross, I can't imagine falling in some storm drain with a bunch of cuts and scrapes. I'm glad you were able to be saved and taken home.

Yeah, I've fallen on concrete blocks. It usually skins you pretty badly.

Just remembered this one.

I was 11. I was standing near a level crossing with my parents. The gates were down, since a train was passing by. But then, the train stopped for some reason --I don't know why-- so I got closer to see what was happening. Suddenly, the gates lifted up and one of them got me right on the chin.

I'm lucky I wasn't hurt too bad. Next time, I won't stand that close.
'cause since then, there hasn't been a "next time".

Actually, if I recall correctly, it barely hurt at all.

Strange, I was expecting more pain from a frickin' level crossing gate.

Well you did say it just got you on the chin. I've been hit by a seesaw after I fell off it (so my friend on the other side went slamming down) and it got me right on the chin and I went flying backwards. And what hurt more was my back and ass, not my chin.

Well, skipping over bits which might not be appropriate for a "family-friendly" board, I've been hit in the head with a steel horseshoe, the full weight of a 12' or so 2x8 (on the narrow edge), and a concrete step, I've broken bones and set them myself, had a few skate tumbles...and the things which were even more painful sound really lame.  One was a time I woke up with a kink in my spine that refused to crack no matter how I tried, and just got steadily worse.  I was pretty pale and clammy for hours from the pain of that, and spent most of my work shift lying flat on the floor.  The other is migraines I sometimes get.

Ouch.... especially that steel horseshoe.  :-/ 

Family friendly?  Pffffhht.  You can share if you want too.

I managed to survive and become the fine, normal, and upstanding citizen I am today despite the repeated head trauma. %)

At least...I think I survived.  Either that or my doctor's been too kind to lay the hard truth on me.  Would kinda explain the smell, come to think of it.
