Speaking of the eighties... Pee-Wee Herman does an anti-drug PSA?
Plus, the set looks like a darkened movie theater...the last place you'd ever want Mr. Wee.

OOFThat PSA was made in 1987, as part of a series of PSAs aired in theaters, for Nancy Reagan's "The Thrill Can Kill" campaign. The first PSA to be shown, had Clint Eastwood talking to us. Other PSAs had Olivia Newton-John, Ally Sheedy, Rae Dawn Chong, Roy Scheider, Bette Midler, etc.
Obviously, the Pee-Wee Herman one is the most popular. The Clint Eastwood one also gained some traction - it helps that his PSA was followed by an explanatory message given by Nancy Reagan, with Clint at her side.
The campaign had a bit of a rocky launch, though. The PSAs first appeared before "Jaws: The Revenge" and "Superman IV: The Quest for Peace"... ouch. At least, people still went to see those, but... how unfortunate. XD
(Yeah, lol, I have a bit of an interest in old PSAs and stuff.)
