Cranberries?  Like the dried variety?  So you get some sweet, spicy, and savory.  This sounds promising.

Yep.  "Craisins", they're called in some circles. Lately I've been using a tropical fruit blend with pineapple, banana chips, dried apricots, and papaya.

I got to experience an American Thanksgiving!!! Such a wonderful people and country!  For two and a half weeks, I got to explore the country!  First I landed in LA then flew in to Seattle to get a cruise to Alaska!  Absolutely spectacular!  What a beautiful country.  The glaciers are amazing and the small villages in Alaska have so much charm.  Once I got back to Seattle, I stayed there a couple days exploring the surrounding areas of Washington, and took a ferry boat to some beautiful towns.  From Seattle I had an American road trip down to Portland and along Highway 101 down the Oregon Coast.  I eventually made it to San Francisco and down the coast to beautiful towns like San Luis Obispo, Santa Barbara, and eventually back to LA to fly home.  I am exhausted but SOOOOOooo happy!  It was an experience I will always remember and I can't wait to go back to the US!  I feel I didn't have enough time to see it all and I want to go back.

That sounds so wonderful, @Kiwi^-^ Great to know you had such a fantastic trip! I wish I could have joined you! I've only been in the US once, a brief trip to New York, wich was absolutely great, but I'd love to see more places some time. Anyway, welcome back!  <3

That is awesome, Kiwi! :D  I am thrilled you had a wonderful time through some of the most beautiful countryside in the world!  That is awesome.  I see you were in one of my favorite areas, being the Pacific Northwest and Alaska!

Thank you Kiku!  I wish you could have joined as well!  [excited]  I have been to New York before many years ago, and a few airport waits within the US, but I kept hearing from people here how beautiful the Pacific Northwest corner of the country is, and tied with my want to see a glacier, I bundled that all with a cruise to Alaska!  It was perfect and the hospitality and warmth was unmatched.  It was so different from New York City and it's urban jungle.  The culture is so much more relaxed, and even just seeing the difference in how people look and act from Alaska, to Washington, Oregon, and to California is quite shocking.  I don't see that kind of diversity on my island in the Pacific Ocean.  Haha! I want to go back!  I might be overexcited, but I could see living there if I didn't live here.  ^-^

What you say and show here doesn't even match seeing it in person.  I was blown away!  The amount of rivers and lakes I saw when flying into Seattle blew my mind, and seeing all the trees and snow covered mountains.  It was so beautiful.  I will never forget that memory and how it all looked with the sun starting to go down.  It all had a golden hue.  Alaska too was so rugged and raw.  It reminds me of the South Island of New Zealand, but on a whole different level.

That is so awesome, Kiwi!!! :D  I'm so happy for you.  I would love to do something like that too.  You really crammed a lot in there from cruises to flying to even driving.  Did you drive the whole way from Washington to California on your own?  That is well over a thousand miles, lol!

If you ever find yourself Washington way again around Christmas, Leavenworth, Washington is a beautiful town nestled in the mountains.  Especially pretty at Christmas time . . . or during Beer festivals in the fall.

We have something quite similar here:

Should our little Kiwi find herself here down South for the holidays, might I recommend she behold Lights of The Delta!
Drive along forty acres--one country mile--and gasp in awe as more than 6 million points of light dance and twinkle in dozen of thrilling animated Christmas displays set to stirring seasonal tunes.

Hey, remember when this song was the hip new thing?  Watch it now, fully illuminated for the holidays!

Awww, that's cute there, Nostradamus!  I like it when little towns do lots of things for Christmas.  :D
