I hardly do anything on Halloween anymore unless someone invites me somewhere. And that hardly ever happens.

I don't do anything for Halloween.  Which seems to be the sentiment with everyone here.

Unless you are a kid or have kids.  You don't do anything.

Thanksgiving is coming soon.... and in normal PSF tradition, we will be pulling up our traditional Thanksgiving and Christmas topics.

Where does the time go?  It flies.  To think another full year has almost gone by.

Aw, you don't have to worry about that just yet; you're only (insert vague number in the 22-40 range here, which is where I presume you fall).  You're a few years yet from having to shop for denture cream, granny panties, and knockoff Viagra.  Yes, you know you're getting old when your favorite TV channel runs a lot of ads for these... that, and malpractice attorneys. 

We've all made Halloween sound far more sinister than it is.... Santanic vibes guys?  Really?

Horror happens year-round.  Ask the old duffer who's calling that lawyer whose ad he saw on the oldies station after his cheap Mexican boner pills give him heart trouble, or the mesh holding in his guts gave out at the early bird buffet, causing him to crap a few feet of his colon out all over the floor.

I see horror when I watch the news at people Black Friday shopping...

I've heard a lot about the infamous Black Friday rushes in America!  Here in the upside-down land of wonder, it refers to brushfires that no one remembers because no one was alive from back then.

But the Shopping Black Friday is gaining ground in the land of Kangaroo's and Kiwi's as well.

Black Friday is after Thanksgiving right?  I've never been to any Black Friday sale.  Makes no sense to go when everyone is going nuts... I think that's starting to calm down, right?  This isn't the 90s anymore.

People just buy stuff when it's on sale, and go at a normal time of day.

As someone who works in retail, I’m hoping my store does what they did last year and not have one. Yeah special marked down items are still being bought like crazy online but I don’t know if an actual Black Friday event is going to be allowed by the city.

I've been Christmas shopping more and more online the past few years.  It kind of upsets me actually.  It takes some of the personality out of the gifts I buy people and you can't physically touch and see what you are buying until you get it.  As much as I hate buying online, it makes it so much more convenient.  That is what makes it so conflicting.

@kiku , sorry for the late reply.  As I mentioned in my last post I got really sick on Halloween and I'm still a bit under the weather .  I really enjoyed your post kiku.  It is always so much fun to learn how other countries celebrate holidays.  It was really interesting to learn how Germany slowly adapted to our version of Halloween.  I also LOVED your story about the lone trick or treater (the little witch).  That was so cute .

Those who know me are always surprised to find out that I love, Love, LOVE HALLOWEEN!!!  Ever since I was little it was always my favorite Holiday but it wasn't until I moved to Key West years ago that I really discovered it.  Now that I'm back home I have made it my mission to make my statement on Halloween each year .  This was my display this year, my best so far.  Each year I add a little more to it by going shopping for Halloween decorations the morning after.  Sadly I felt so terrible this year that I never made it out.  I will have to wait till next year to see what I'm going to do.

As you can see it was kind of a windy night but still warmer than the normal temp this time of year.  I got quite a few trick or treaters and I loved hearing what the kiddo's thought of my display
