So I have narrowed it down to either a sedan or wagon. I don't want a German car anymore because of all their scandals, lies, and how VW/Audi makes trash (in my experience). I am open to other choices too. I do want at least decent gas mileage. Willing to spend near $30k or if i can find a really good used car, I will too.
So, I am looking at American, Japanese, and South Korean. Scandanavian is fine too.
Check out the Ford Fusion Energi. It is a hybrid and electric car for 22 miles, plus you get get it with nice luxury inside. Also the Chrysler 200 is a great car, despite it not getting the attention it deserves due to the mid 2000s Chrysler/Dodge stigma, also check the 300. It has good power and good mileage. I would even look at Buick and Lincoln (not old people cars). Chevy has that new Malibu, and the Cruz is a good smaller car for good mileage. Dodge Charger might be cool.
I just see you as wanting a refined car, being that you had an unrefined Audi. Make look for a used Volvo?
What about cookie cutter cars from Toyota, Nissan, and Honda? You also have rust prone Mazda's which are good and fun cars. Subaru? They have wagon/SUV mixes that get good gas mileage. Honda has the new Civic and wonderful Accord that everyone else has. There is the Altima, which is a good seller, and the Camry and Corolla which every parent hands down to their first of kin, and then she drives the Corolla into a light pole.
It's a big open world out there.
