I do think this writer did better then most.  He presented both sides of the issue in a smart way and didn't make the characters fall into just flat "characters."  They seemed alive.  The relationship building especially among Sky and Vapor was great.  They were admittedly, super cute together.  I may bump up my score reconsidering things.

We are being set up for season 7.  We just got the season finale next week I think left when inevitably, Starlight Glimmer, takes over in season 7.  Twilight will be called away to important friendship business in a neighboring empire. Everyone knows she's being prepped for another major fandom shattering change. It has been so long since the last one.  So Starlight Glimmer will be the new star, with Spike. ;)

Oh... and then Spitfire has a flashback and burns down a tavern...

Yet she still won best sneeze. ;)

I love how she kept hugging Sky.  They were the cutest hugs and really one of the few signs of affection being shown in the show in the form of a hug other then friendship.

It was nice. I liked that the show has shown male and female friendships. It's always seemed to be strictly female and female friendships. Like how they're expanding.

Hm, well, different species has already been confirmed. There are mules in the show, and mules are made with a horse and a donkey. However, I believe a pony and donkey make something else. It's a different name or something. But it would be super cool to see a hippogriff or something!
