This isn't good for Republicans.  They couldn't afford to lose this race. They will need to make up this loss somewhere else if they want to remain the majority.

Democrat Jennifer Wexton is projected to win her election to represent Virginia's 10th congressional district in the U.S. House against Republican two-term incumbent Rep. Barbara Comstock.

The percentage that Republicans will win the senate is growing.  There is now a 65% chance that Republicans will win the senate.

There is a 75% chance Democrats will win the house, but that number has been declining from a high of 88%.

I will be back in about a half an hour when more results come in and more states close their polls. Soon we will will be talking about the west and west coast including important races in Arizona, California, Washington, and Montana.

Republican Congresswoman Marsha Blackburn will defeat former Democratic Governor Phil Bredesen to replace retiring GOP Senator Bob Corker

In Wyoming, Republican Sen. John Barrasso is poised win re-election to a second full term by beating Democrat Gary Trauner.

Republican Sen. Deb Fischer will win a second term in Nebraska by defeating Democrat Jane Raybould.

In Arizona, Republican Gov. Doug Ducey will win a second term by defeating Democrat David Garcia.

Texas Republican Gov. Greg Abbott will win a second term by defeating Democrat Lupe Valdez, a former sheriff.

In Nebraska, Republican Gov. Pete Ricketts will win a second term by defeating Democrat state lawmaker Bob Krist.

Republican Treasurer Mark Gordon will defeat Democratic state lawmaker Mary Throne to succeed term-limited GOP Governor Matt Mead in Wyoming's gubernatorial race.

It is still too close to call on Florida's governor and senate race.  The Republican is leading in both cases.

Democrats need to take 23 seats to win the majority in the house, but so far Democrats have taken 2 seats.  Still an early night.

Republican Vermont Gov. Phil Scott will defeat Democratic challenger Christine Hallquist in the state's gubernatorial race.

Businessman Kevin Stitt will succeed term-limited Oklahoma Gov. Mary Fallin, a fellow Republican, by defeating Democratic lawyer Drew Edmondson, the Fox News Decision Desk has projected.

Mike Braun, a Republican businessman is projected to defeat first-term Democratic Sen. Joe Donnelly in Indiana

Democratic Senator Joe Manchin will win reelection by defeating Republican Attorney General Patrick Morrisey.

Mississippi's special Senate primary election will result in a runoff as none of the four candidate garnered 50 percent of the vote.

Republican incumbent Cindy Hyde-Smith and Democratic challenger Mike Espy will now face each other in a runoff election on Nov. 27.
