So some people say the tv series that spawns from this "tv movie" will be 2D animation and some say it will be a lesser 3D animation.  Do we actually know?  I don't think I've ever read Hasbro saying what the tv series animation type would be.  I just recall hearing that G5 would move to CGI.

Yep, they are going to alienate the majority of watchers and put it on a streaming services and not on their tv network.

"With the final installment of the My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic empire landing on Netflix later this year, Hasbro and Netflix have announced how they will follow up the legendary horse girl/girl horses franchise with a brand-new incarnation in a brand-new style.

For the first time, My Little Pony will get a CG-animated series, and it will kick off with a feature-length film in “theatrical-quality CG animation,” the companies said in a news release. Both will be exclusive to Netflix. The movie will introduce fans to a new set of mane characters, starting with Sunny Starscout the Earth Pony and Izzy the Unicorn. The new look and new ponies will also get their own toyline, the My Little Pony franchise’s Generation 5.

The pony world of Equestria has lost its magic. (GASP!) Friendship and Harmony have been replaced by paranoia and mistrust, and Ponies now live separated by species. Izzy and Sunny must embark on an epic adventure that will include a daring jewel heist, outrageous conspiracy theories, elaborate musical numbers, and the world’s cutest flying Pomeranian. Their adventures will take them to faraway lands and force them to challenge the status quo by facing their fears and making new friends out of old enemies. The world Sunny has dreamed of her entire life could finally become a reality as Sunny and her newfound friends fight to prove that even LITTLE ponies can make a BIG difference."

So the movie CGI assets will be used for the cartoon series.  But there will surely be a downgrade as they go to a lower budget for the tv series.

Not sure why this isn't going on tv.  That's where people want to see it too... I prefer the one new episode a week to talk about it and share it among friends as opposed to some big episode dump for binge watching. This is disappointing news.

What the actual heck?  WHY?  Sure you can put it there, but do so after premiering it on your freakin' tv channel!    Ugh.  This is so unfortunate.  So it FORCES people to illegally watch it online if they don't have access to a Netflix.  This is such a dumb choice by Hasbro.  It also doesn't allow us to gauge how successful the show is with viewership ratings.

Looks like she touched the paint from «Babs Seed», which was later poured on Appejack and EqG Rainbow Dash (but purple this time) and made them... no, just cough .
