Modern rap isn't good, from what I've heard. Older stuff had more meaning to it from what I can understand. I don't listen to rap, but I'm not ignorant to the fact that a lot of songs can have a lot of meaning. A lot of them are written in regards to growing up in a harsh life, a shit environment, having to overcome so much shit.

In cases like that, it's not the music that's shit, it's your ignorance.

If i had to listen to any form of rap, it would be the early stuff.  80s.  That was legit.  Today it's crap just moaning and groaning.  Lots of pointless booty and sex, and flaunting of wealth.  Old stuff was the classics and it was the best.

It takes some digging, but you can find some good modern stuff out there. In every genre, there's shitty popular songs, but dig a little further down and you'll find some really good stuff.

Got to do it in pretty much every genre. Everyone's taste is different, but you have to dig to find the perfect sound for you.
