OK, we can see Volvo’s top engine will have 780 HP, after 770 HP of Scania (still not added in the game). I bet Scania’s answer will have 800 ;D.
Also, I see the next FH look became closer to Renault T.

The main competitirs fight with really baby steps ;D.
V700-S730-V750-S770-V780.
So far the biggest step (30 HP) was made by Scania ;D.
Meanwhile, MAN has dropped from 680 HP to 640.

Also, this company went from V10 (in 1990s) to L6 (after 2014, when V8 was also dropped). In fact, everyone except Scania have only six cylinders in the current generation.
A big step down after 12-cylinder two-stroke Detroit Diesel 12V-71 which sounded like it has four times more RPM than the current truck engines ;D.
OK, I am agree that those old engines had the awful efficiency and emission. Even 50cc scooter engine is considered dirty when it has two strokes.

Yeh.  Engines get less and less displacement but become more efficient and they are improving horsepower in many cases.  We are seeing 4 cylinder cars with 400hp in some cases. ;D  It's a bit slower in the world of trucks, but it is happening.  More emissions standards, the push to go green, and the trucking world is working on that.

The nearest future for the small cars comes with three cylinders for 1.3-1.6 liters, while not so long ago we had four, even for 1.0-1.2 liters ;D.
Due to the advanced computer engineering, now the manufacturer can design the non-perfect scheme and just compensate the unbalanced forces with a balance shaft... just like non-perfect program code is fought by using the overpowered hardware ;D.
UPD:
That monorail train from Düsseldorf looks too futuristic. I still prefer the look of Schwebebahn.

I forgot the Germany rework was still being done. For some reason I thought it was all done.  So we got the German and Switzerland team rebuilding those parts of the world.  Very cool! So there might be at least two reworks for ETS2 this year since there will likely be no map DLC.  Just new trailers, maybe a truck or two, and probably some accessory packs or something.

I am impressed they shoved that intersection AND and airport into that region of the map.  Not sure how they will do that cluster of three big cities exactly.

Greece?
Its map is pretty small compared with other DLCs, so I think it must come out this year.

I don't know.  Late 2024 is cutting it close. They have barely even posted about Greece.

The new VOLVO FH Aero is coming to ETS2.  It will happen.... just not sure about the engine yet.

German rework is still chugging along.  It's taken so long to redo this country which is kind of astounding.  I think it would have been better to just focus on it and release it all faster... but hey, what do I know?  It's been like five years, lol.
