It is amazing how much time has passed.  It still seems not long ago, but I guess it was.  Tons of people were born after it and have no clue anymore... probably why we see those horrible jokes people make about it.

Honestly…and I hate to even think this but, give it a few more decades and those jokes might become more and more common.

Think of the Titanic. Over a hundred years ago, that was seen as the most horrible disaster of the times. Thousands of lives lost, families broken, loved ones shattered, etc etc. Today in this day and age, how many jokes have we made involving that ship? There exist parody comedy films surrounding it and children’s cartoons around it.

9/11, it was horrible and I don’t see myself ever making jokes about it in the same way I do other subject matter, but, with more time, I have a feeling it’s gonna become the new Titantic.

The Titanic wasn't a terrorist attack, though, just an unfortunate monument to American excess, folly, hubris, and gross incompetence. The subsequent investigation into the accident and its legacy make for fascinating reading--and, yes, a veritable ocean of maudlin, terrible crap. James Cameron was hardly the first to, in essence, drop his pants and defecate on the graves of almost 1,500 people.

To think most of these kids who are protesting and attacking Jewish students on our campuses today weren't yet born when Ahab the Arab put the torch to the Towers.  One doesn't make fun of the tragedy itself, but those who propagate the behavior and diseased ideology behind it are fair game. At least, they should be.

I think you nailed it for the most part.  People who didn't experience certain events may think light of the situation.  As we are seeing today, and wrongly so, a lot of TikTok gen Z people are actually siding with the Taliban and Osama thinking he was right back in 2001.  These young people are being molded to hate their country and the Western World. It's very sad and unfortunate to see.  We got to stop that.  Before we know it, they will start thinking Imperial Japan, Stalin, or even Hitler were right...
