Man, that is a
blast from the
past. I loved his commercials, watched his short-lived TV show, and even owned the T-shirt.
Growing up in the eighties those spots and the one with the
burping electrical plug were among my favs.
There was another one from Orkin Pest Control I really dug--in it a bunch of giant insects throw a swinging bash in someone's place, dancing about singing "We are the BAD-dest BUGS in TOWWWWW-wwwnn!!" and making a lot of noise and mess. This company actually made insects look
cool--I remember thinking, man, I wanted to party with these freakin' guys, 'cause they knew how to get
down and
boogie. So as the big bad bugs start eating all the food and breaking stuff and swinging from the light fixtures, the distraught homeowner, upstairs, makes a quick phone call. I actually felt sort bad when the pest control people came and hauled them off--you could even hear them saying, "Oh, boy" and protest feebly as they just gave up and marched into the back of a white paddy-wagon,. It's like, dude, you're a six-foot-tall cockroach, you don't have to take that. Fight back. Bite someone's head off, or something. That's another great old ad I've, sadly, had no luck finding online.
