Member Groups

Hi all we may be thinking about making a name change to the member group if we did do this what would you like. Example: "Contributing artist" basically you decide.

At the moment it's just a name change to your current member status, but if you would like a separate group for artists and writers Darrin and smiles could do it if agreed.

Oh okay.  So right now I am a "Prolific Member."  Would it change that or be something added to that status that is gained by posting a certain amount?

Yes your "Prolific Member" would change to the new name that you lot would like.

So how many member groups would we need to come up with?  This idea has potential, but you need a groundwork and basis.  You pretty much came up with an idea and just left it completely open with no basis to work off of.

It's suggestions at the moment it's just a simple name change to your "Prolific member" status.

I personally have no err with our current member rankings, but I think they need to add more since people are already meeting and exceedingly the posting counts.

I think there can be sub groups for people who want to be writers or artists... but where it gets tricky is if the person is a writer and an artist?  Who do we deem artists?  What if someone considers themselves an artist, but draws stick figures out of cow dung and only contributed once? Do we allow that?  Who determines this? 

What is much easier is our current system of ranking based on posts.  I think this can be reworked to have more rankings. Certain high level rankings can unlock stuff too.  If you want to get people to post, you can "lock" the art and writers boards and force them to make an intro thread or post 5-10 posts, etc.  It is really up to what people like.
