What is The Ponies?The Ponies is a community-run project aiming to create a clone of the original Sims game (from scratch, of course) but inspired by the design of MLP:FiM (none are affiliated). The game is still in early development, but is so far being programmed in the C# language and built in Unity. We plan to release early builds as we go, so the game would be early access. When the game is completed, it will be
free to play.What features will be in the game?In The Ponies, you will be given the power to create your very own ponies and control their lives. You get to choose their interactions which affect their future. Expand their relationships with other ponies to make friends or foe. Build up their skills to help them function better in the world and in their careers; including cooking, creativity, mechanical, body, logic, and charisma. Build their homes, even including the everyday places they visit. Take control of their every move, whether that ends up taking them down a successful, happy life or makes them a complete train wreck. Everything is up to you.
Is it legal?Yes, this project is legal. The Ponies is a non-profit project focusing to re-create Electronic Arts’ original The Sims game (TS1) in the form of a parody featuring a visual design inspired by Hasbro’s My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic series. The game is programmed with C# code, and is completely 100% original, reverse-engineering the gameplay mechanics of TS1, while implementing many new features. We neither distribute, nor alter any intellectual property belonging to Electronic Arts, Inc. or Hasbro, Inc. This project is non-commercial. No content such as official show characters, locations, or any other copyrighted material will be present in this game.
