At least we got some new original stories in here. :)  Hopefully the sequel will be good too.  Pixar has picked things up and improved again in their last several movies.

It just stinks Disney pushes them to streaming releases instead of the theatrical releases they deserve.

Lightyear suffered a clear-cut case of "been there, done that" retread whiff.  The franchise has been around for 25 years, four films, numerous commercial bumpers for Disney's Saturday morning lineup on ABC, and a holiday special or two; let it go.

I haven't seen Turning Red yet, but I will applaud them for building a whole film around such an unusual and not-often-seen critter. The only other red panda to be featured in any animated series, as far as I can tell, is Sody Pop (no, not that one).

I think Turning Red was way better than Lightyear.

I think we all saw this coming.  Elemental is getting mixed reviews from early screeners.  Film comes out June 16, 2023.

It's gonna be a mediocre film.

'Elemental' is going to be a massive disappointment.  Predicting it now.  It's not going to be a bomb (but it will for Pixar and Disney standards) and it's not going to be well liked.  It's going to be a massive disappointment like 'Lightyear.'  Pixar is losing it's identity and Disney is sucking the life out of them.

Disney has no identity anymore anymore.  It's a shell of itself.

I think it might make decent money, but its going to be way less than they'd hoped.  I agree it will be a disappointment.

It begins.

Elemental was projected to gross $35–40 million from 4,035 theaters in its opening weekend. The film made $11.8 million on its first day (including $2.4 million from Thursday night previews), lowering the estimates to $30 million.

It is REALLY happening.

Elemental went on to debut to $29.5 million, finishing in third and marking the worst opening weekend ever for a Pixar film.
