Dreamworks is so up and down.
Their new Boss Baby 2 film is out now...
It is getting roughly average to lower than average reviews. It has a 47% Rotten Tomatoes Score, and got a 6/10 on IMDB.
It looks like it will be a box office bomb. They spent $82 million on the film and so far have only made up $37 million.

Ouch. I haven't heard any hype or seen any ads for this new movie.

It's going to be tough to make it up in the box office, but no telling what home video and purchasing the streams of it.

I wonder how much money it will make this weekend? It might be peaking.

I think Dreamworks is maybe doing something right here for once...
"The Bad Guys" is an upcoming film with a more cartoon aesthetic mixed with realism. It stands out a bit more than just so many generic CGI films.

I don't want to make this comparison just because it has animals.... but I will. Zootopia. Even though it has NOTHING to do with an animal world. There are clearly people in it! I'm just excited to see animal/human cartoon characters!

Funny you mention Zootopia, because Big Bad reminds me a lot of Nick Wilde
The 'nobody expects us to ge anything more than evil, so that's what we are' vibe and the redemption arc is veeeerry similar to that foxy boy...

Coming off the success of ,"The Bad Guys," a new stylized look is coming from one of their older IP's. Puss in Boots: The Last Wish. It is scheduled for a December 21, 2022 release.

Stylized neat but it will age the film. Everyone knows what games or tv shows use bright and colorful things. Sort of the Fortnite-ification of media.

While Disney is making horrible films and bombing in everything they do, Dreamworks isn't being woke and succeeding.
The New Puss And Boots film is supposedly one of the best films of the year and way better then people have expected! It also teased Shrek 5.

Well, good for Dreamworks.
Hope they don't screw it up. But they've actually for years been low-key making consistent, quality products and IPs.
