Trucking Simulator Games Discussion

Whether it's new or old.  Across the United States, Europe, or just across town.  This topic is for all the trucking simulator games out on the market.

So I'm excited.  You can all point and laugh now about knowing this about me now. 

It was just announced today the release date of the new American Truck Simulator expansion for Washington.  I am so HAPPY!  They released Oregon last year and it quickly became my favorite expansion, but I know now with Washington in the mix, that has the real possibility of being my new fav.  Up until this point the game has only been in California and the American southwest... which is fine, but it's all dry and hot.  I like me some greenery and water!  So I am super looking forward to this.

Most beautiful update to the game yet!  I bought it and played it over the weekend.  Now my fav list is Washington, Oregon, then California.

Utah DLC release date for American Truck Simulator is November 7, 2019!  Just four months after the amazing Washington DLC!

Looks good.  But I like the more green states on the coast.  I'm not sure how they will make flat and boring states interesting visually.  Wait till they get to Iowa, Nebraska, Oklahoma, much of Texas, etc.  It will be strange.  Then the next thing will be tiny states like Vermont, Rhode Island.  I wonder how they will make those?  Will they be grouped into one DLC?

Been driving Utah.  It's a much more boring state.  Not as good as Washington and Oregon were.

Sorta.... Not really.  It's flat west of Salt Lake, but most of the state is mountains such as the Wasatch Range east of Salt Lake.  Then behind that you have high plateau.  You also got mountains south by Saint George.

Utah ranges from arid desert to mountains to arid plateaus.  It isn't as varied as some states, but it certainly has some variation.

Has any of you tried the newest DLC for ETS2, The Road To Black Sea?
As an Eastern European country inhabitant, I can find a lot of objects which resemble my living place — old industry zones, Soviet-type buildings and a great river with tons of garbage near populated areas . The scenery is a really well-made.
But driving in Romania is a real pain for me — it's basically one large villiage! Here you can think that 1:20 scale is becoming too small, there is a lot of settlements located one after other. Thankfully, crossing a border to Bulgaria gives a great relief — you are finally allowed to drive fast since distances between villiages are measured in minutes, not seconds.
I heard that first DLC's have been critisized for containing too much highways and too little secondary roads, so SCS decided to add more rural areas and make highways only if they are essential (like in Baltic DLC). But in RTBS they clearly have overdone. So, this DLC is a second gift to the players from post-Soviet countries, but impatient gamers may not like its constantly slow driving.

Also, Lonestar in ATS is great! Maybe the daycab chassis appears a bit long and mirrors are too wide, but this truck is really made with love.

I don't have the latest ETS2 DLC, I bought the Utah DLC for ATS, but someday I will get it.

I do have TBBS DLC.  But I am enthralled by the Washington DLC still in ATS.  Haven't played ETS2 since Washington DLC. So it's been many months.

ETS and ATS are perfect complements to each other, so I play both games in small portions. And I also have a DLC which I tried only once — a Special Transport. No doubt, it have a lot of cool features like escort vans or crowds of people on the finish point but I don't like its slow pace.
Speaking of WA, I think it have more balanced content than OR — less wood industry, more highways and straighter secondary roads. Also I love its beautiful road over treetops, large amount of bridges and great dam on Grand Coole. In addition, there is another moment which I loved in 1.35 update — big and long containers instead of ugly yellow-blue cubes.

I would definately say of all the DLC so far for ATS, Washington has been my favorite, followed by Oregon.  Utah was a little... meh to me. 

I think Washington did the best with nature and a good balance of road types as you mentioned.  I also think it hands down did the best job with urban/city driving with the best designs for towns and has some of the most impressive scenery to date, especially driving into Seattle or over some mountain passes.

Portland in the Oregon DLC is also very impressive how they had that much detail in that area and you literally drive around the entire downtown via freeways. 

For ETS2, I spend a ton of time in the Scandanvian countries for some reason.  I just keep getting moved around.  I know I have also entered Kaliningrad, but have yet to go to St. Petersburg as I really want to see it.  I think I last saved somewhere in Finland.  So I am close!
