Great movie!   I really found it entertaining and enjoyed the characters.  Some bits were rushed for time, but I hope the series can be more thoughtful and lore building like the movie. It could go in a whole new direction from girly girly to adventure and lore-heavy!

2D Youtube Exclusive Generation 5 Animation Releasing in Spring

We have some interesting news coming out of Licensing Mag in regards to the future of Generation 5. We already know about the series releasing in Fall of next year, along with the 44 minute special for Summer, but this one includes something else entirely! A 2D Animation is apparently coming to Youtube, with availability in Italy in the Spring. Based on everything else G5 has been dropping in regards to main-format G5 releases, that will most likely mean worldwide.

Hopefully we get some previews of all of this upcoming pony soon! For now, Hasbro seems to be basking in the huge success that the movie saw.

Wouldn't it be  shock if the animated series turned out to be 2D? 

But since it is a Youtube related thing, it might be pretty cheap quality.

I hope they don't look similar to the G3 style ponies, but i fear they will since that is a more similar look to the G5 variants if done in 2D.  I would really like them to be hand drawn G4 style, like the movie, or a very well done hand-animated flash/harmony style.  Here's to hoping it will be good!

I 100% understand what you are alluding too.  That weird look when they had sort of square heads with that muzzle.  It was so unsettling. 

I mean who passed this and said THIS (photo link) was okay?

Those all look so good!   No wings, but probably just test models.   Notice the one that looks like Fluttershy has a horn and the one who looks like Twilight does not.
