Yeah, having at least one difference from ordinary transport will make the said system progressively more interesting.
Just a few cave-like stations have turned Stockholm's subway to an attraction for tourists, and same can be said about richly ornated Soviet-type Metro stations, especially from Moscow's historical center. They can look astonishing, and the only thing that disappoints me is an inevitable replacing of the old trains. New ones are made with boring-but-practical approach, and of course, are more convenient and reliable, but I miss the cuteness of old trains, which had wooden frames, sofa-like seats and round lamps, which blink at arriving on station  ^-^.

But new trains are so much more comfy!  But I agree, they lose a lot of the traditional appeal and uniqueness that made them special.

And I believe that every unique transit system has a majority of passengers who just commutes and don't care about stations, trains and so on.  ;p
Spoiler (hover to show)
P.S. Sometimes the vandal-proofing of seats may be gone too far:

But it really doesn't matter to me, because it's almost impossible to have a seat at rush hour (even at 9am, when trains are coming every 70-80 seconds).  ;D

Lol.  That one seat is like... chopped and not even a full seat?  Like... what?

They are called «1,5-person» seats — due to weird (they wanted to save money on one window? ;D) door arrangement this type of cars had «cab-1-6-6-6-1,5» seat configuration instead of «cab-6-6-6-3», like in all previous and next types.
So, I think it was good for one wide person ;D or two children. But when some requirement like «the seat must not be damaged by a knife» came out, all new seats got a hard surface with unified soft blocks, so in the case with 1,5 person seat (that type of car was pretty unique, and most of them were scrapped before they got new seats) there was easier to cut one block in a half than to make wider one ;D.

Pretty interesting, but here is an interactive map that shows when it is most likely the best to see peak fall foliage colors!  It's broken up by county.

Thanks.  Probably would have been more useful if anyone saw this last autumn.
