Hmm...2, 4, and 7, but it was mainly 7. I have memories of playing on my uncle's SNES and memories of playing on another family members NES. The original PlayStation was my first official console as a kid. N64, I disliked that controller. PlayStation controllers are superior controllers, change my mind.

I first played the 2 at my cousins house when I was really small, then the 4.  The first I owned was the 7.

PlayStation 5 Sells Another 3.3 Million Units, Still Matching PlayStation 4 Sales, Still Destroying Xbox Sales

Sony’s has released its latest set of quarterly financial results, revealing that the PlayStation 5 is still matching the PlayStation 4 in total unit sales.

The news comes despite ongoing shortages of silicon semiconductor wafers required to make the complex chips found inside the console, as well as Microsoft’s Xbox, smartphones, and in the systems necessary for advanced autonomous driving.

From launch in November 2020 through to the end of Q2 2021 in September 2021, Sony has now sold through some 13.4 million consoles. The latest results, running from July to September 2021 account for 3.3 million of that total number.

That means that the PS5 is roughly matching the PS4 in raw sales figures. In its first four quarters on sale, the PS4 recorded 13.5m sales — within a rounding error of the PS5’s 13.4m — with the PS5 matching its predecessor 1:1 in the first and fourth quarters, and beating it in its second quarter.

However the PS5’s results might be even better than they first appear. While Sony recorded “sell-in” (sales to retailers) figures for the PlayStation 4, the PS5’s numbers are “sell-through” (sales to end consumers). That could mean that more consoles have found homes this time round than in 2013/14.

The PlayStation 4 went on to reach 100m sales in the quickest time ever for a home console, and now sits at 115.4m units sold. For the PlayStation 5 to be even close to matching that while experiencing supply issues is pretty impressive.

September 2021 is the 11th month the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S have been available for. In the latest month, the gap continued to grow in favor of the PlayStation 5 when compared to the aligned launch of the Xbox Series X|S, both combined.  Meanwhile Nintendo's Switch console continues to decline in sales month in and month out.

Sony to buy video game maker Bungie in $3.6 billion
Article

Not many expected to see the original makers of Halo be bought out by Sony.  It appears Sony says they want them to remain independent in their purchase, but use their popular brands in future games, shows, movies, etc.  Sony also says they plan to allow them to sell games on all consoles still.  Not limited to Playstation.

Sony Interactive Entertainment has agreed to acquire privately held video game developer Bungie for $3.6 billion, adding to a flurry of industry consolidation this month.

Bungie is the company behind the multiplayer shooter games Destiny and Halo, the latter of which it developed until 2010. Bungie was acquired by Microsoft in 2000 and split from that company in 2007.

With the Steam Deck on the market and outselling expectations, we now officially have two major gaming 'console' players from Washington State, specifically in suburbs of Seattle.  Valve and Microsoft.

Sony and Nintendo are from Japan.

This came out of nowhere but it excites me for some reason.  Probably the nostalgia.

So take SUPER SMASH BROS... but with classic and new Nickelodeon characters!  YEAH!  And it's made by a GOOD video game studio!  Nickelodeon shocked us all with this new game. Lets see how it turns out.

Related to this, they are adding new characters. lol.

CD Projekt Red news for the company and how they are overhauling everything.

Long video short, they are splitting into two teams to work on two triple AAA games at once.  Witcher is returning.

The Saints Row reboot has been mediocre to a fail according to nearly every single reviewer.

It's too bad, I wanted Saints Row to be good, but people say the main cast is pretty insufferable and the game feels outdated.  Still might be a fun sandbox though.  Maybe in a few months with patches and updates, it could be better.

I'm surprised how badly it tanked.  It already got a lot of hate due to Epic Games buying them out to be an exclusive.  Epic Games is hated by so many.  lol

Microsoft's Trying To Buy Activision Blizzard deal gets global scrutiny

Article

Microsoft’s plan to buy video game giant Activision Blizzard for $68.7 billion could have major effects on the gaming industry, transforming the Xbox maker into something like a Netflix for video games by giving it control of many more popular titles. But to get to the next level, Microsoft must first survive a barrage of government inquiries from New Zealand to Brazil, and from U.S. regulators emboldened by President Joe Biden to strengthen their enforcement of antitrust laws...
