Thank you for sharing what you have shared Kiku and everyone else.

Our connected world has allowed us (unlike the past) to separate world leaders from their countries. For example, instead of people being angry at all Russian's for this act, many recognize it was the decision of the country's leaders and not the Russian people themselves.  There are some tense days ahead and watching the footage of people injured and fighting for their lives, it actually choked me up.  I just can't imagine this happening on your own soil and how awful it would be.  The courageous Ukrainian's who are taking up arms and fighting for their land.

A story that broke my heart but also gave me courage was of 13 Ukrainian border guard agents on an island in the Black Sea.  They were stationed at a lighthouse.  A Russian warship sailed up and told them to remove their arms, surrender, or die.  The Ukrainian border agents responded back telling the Russian warship to go **** themselves.  13 border agents fought to the bitter end for that little island and for their nation.  They were unfortunately all killed.

There are going to be thousands of stories like that and their going to be heartbreaking... the families lives that have been altered.  Lest we never forget them.

President Zelensky and members of the parliament filmed a video of themselves just hours ago standing in the middle of the Ukrainian government building courtyard and they praised the actions of the Ukrainian people and told them to keep fighting.  They said they would stand and fight too.  You got to give the President and the parliament members who have stayed behind and are ready to fight for their country.  I hate to say this, but this may be the last few days on earth they exist.  But they are doing so defiantly for their country, for their people.

Militarily speaking now, from what we know based on US, UK, NATO, and Ukrainian intel, the Russian Army is only using 1/3rd of their forces they've amassed.  While they are making inroads and now fighting along the city limits of many major cities, they aren't making the progress many experts expected.  The Russian's are taking some losses, and their new technology they are using is suffering to the old weapons and vehicles the Ukrainians are mostly using.  Russian lines have not advanced or made the gains the Russian's probably expected.  The Ukrainian's are fighting well, no matter the outcome.

Another morning has broke and Ukraine is still standing strong.  Russian forces over the night fired cruise missiles into the city, rather sporadically.  Reports are schools, residential areas, and even a hospital have been hit.  Video was shared through the media yesterday of a Russian tank purposely driving over civilian vehicles as they were driving them.  So clearly Russia's standards here are not that high.  They will kill anyone and shoot at anything.  Here are some headlines.

First and foremost, President Zelensky is alive!  He posted a video to his Twitter saying, "I am Here!" and rallied his nation.  He clearly looks tired, but defiant! "Do not believe in fake information, there's a lot of fake information online that I'm calling on our army to lay down arms, and that there's evacuation," he said against a backdrop of Kyiv's Gorodetsky House. "I'm here. We won't lay down our arms. We will defend our state... Weapons and equipment from our partners are on the way to Ukraine. The anti-war coalition is working!"  This brave world leader is still in Kyiv and has taken up arms ready to fight.  The courage and bravery is something all Ukrainians and those who love freedom should feel proud of.

Russian armed forces have entered the city limits of Kyiv (it is unknown about other cities at this time) and are facing heavy resistance from Ukrainian forces as well as civilians. The city government confirmed ongoing fighting and urged people to stay home. Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council Oleksiy Danilov told Ukrainian news site Lb.ua that the army was "in control" of the situation. Article.

The United States and the EU have now all approved new sanctions directly against Putin and Lavrov. They won't hurt immediately, as both men are billionaires, but it will eventually start to hurt the Russian public whom then will take aim at their leaders.

UK has banned all Russian private jets from the UK air space.

Meanwhile in the Latvian capital city of Riga, Latvians sang the Ukranian national anthem outside Russian embassy! It can be watched here.

And lastly, in a unfortunate and expected move, China continues to support Russia by saying; Beijing “respects” the actions of the Russian government amid the “ongoing crisis situation” in Ukraine, China’s President Xi Jinping told President Vladimir Putin during a phone call on Friday.

In a more viral moment, this chilling video shows Ukrainian civilians who have captured a Russian soldier (rebel or separatist???) and begin questioning him.  The rough transcript is posted below of their conversation...  I cannot verify this translation, but it is included with the video.

Apparent translation

Lady: "Oleg (soldier's name), why are you doing this? Why did you come to our country, we don't want war"

Camera man: "Why were you told that you needed to come here?"

Soldier Oleg: "To take back the people". I'm guessing this refers back to liberating Russian people as per Putin's press statements.

Lady: "We don't want war, Oleg"

Soldier Oleg: Inaudible

Camera man: "Suma, center of the city"

Lady: "Why Oleg"

Cuts off

The soldier does not say he also doesn't want to be there in the footage posted here."

Rough Translation (not mine)

Camera man- why were you sent here?

Soldier named "Oleg"- we were told to gather people.

-gather where? Why? We don't want war.

Soldier - don't know, we were just told to gather people. We also don't want to be here.

I just keep hoping to hear Russian forces are greatly struggling.  I know Ukraine is tough.  It just worries me since only 1/3rd of Russia's forces encircling Ukraine are currently being used and Ukraine is struggling as is.  They are fighting for so much more than just their homeland right now.  The rest of the world is sadly only there in spirit as they are doing the dirty work.

* Now 50% of Russian forces are in Ukraine.  US intel has said that Russian forces are facing low morale and are frustrated with their slow progress into Ukraine.

* Russian forces have made no advancement closer to Kyiv and are still roughly 20 miles out of the city.  Small Russian sabotage groups are in the city though.

* Ukrainian forces have made great strides and reportedly have shot down two massive Russian troop planes as well as several helicopters.  There are also reports they have destroyed one troop battalion.  We are hearing from intel on the ground that already over 3,500 Russian soldiers have perished, and no defined number for Ukrainian troops, but it is said to be significantly less.  This means the Russian's are struggling.

* Russian advancement and attacks are not happening at night other than missile firing.  UK intel says it is likely the Russian troops do not have night vision and cannot advance.  Russian troops are also not using guided missiles which have precise firing.  Ukrainian troops are using Javeline anti-tank missiles provided to them by the Trump Administration to great effect.  Russian morale is low, and advancement is slow.

Just yesterday we were told 1/3rd of Russian troops were invading, and now it's half.  Clearly things are not going as Russia had expected. They aren't steamrolling over Ukraine. Ukraine is fighting hard.

Two minutes ago, as of writing this, the United States, Canada, European allies have move to block 'selected' Russian banks from SWIFT!

YouTube moves to prevent Russia Today, other Russian channels from earning revenue we also learned today.

Cyberattacks from Anonymous are continuing and as of writing this, several Russian government websites are offline including the Kremlin's main website.  Russia has also been blocking Russians' access to Twitter amid protests and criticism from around the world.

Russian propoganda has made false accusations that the US was involved in naval operations in Ukraine.  The Pentagon has said this is completely false as have other nations including Turkey.  The US Navy is nowhere near Ukraine's waters.

Anti-war protests grow in Tokyo, London, Taipei, and across the United States.

Russian President Vladimir Putin, monitoring developments in Ukraine from his "lair in the Urals," is "furious" and "fuming" that his military’s invasion of the smaller country to the south hasn’t gone more smoothly, claims a former defense chief of Estonia and member of the European Parliament. "He thought that the whole war would be easy and everything would be done in 1-4 days." Instead, Ukrainian military members – and civilians arming themselves with guns and Molotov cocktails – have been working to fend off Russian forces who have been entering Ukraine from several directions since Thursday. News from overnight...

Despite warnings last night that Kyiv would come under attack from Russian missiles, an aerial blitz does not seem to have happened.

Explosions were however heard near the city and an oil depot in Vasylkiv to the south of the capital was hit and set ablaze, according to the local mayor. The fire prompted fears of toxic fumes and residents were warned to close their windows and stay indoors.

The southern city of Nova Kakhovka has been taken over by Russian troops, the city's mayor said this morning.

Meanwhile, Russian vehicles have entered Ukraine's second-largest city, Kharkiv, according to Ukrainian officials. A loud explosion was also heard earlier in the city, where a gas pipeline is said to have been hit by Russian fire. Residential areas in Kharkiv were also attacked, according to emergency services. A woman was reportedly killed and dozens were evacuated from a nine-story building.

At least six civilian deaths were also reported in the town of Okhtyrka, north-eastern Ukraine, according to the region's mayor.

In a move to punish Russia, the US, the EU and their allies will be cutting off a number of Russian banks from the main international payment system, Swift. They will also freeze Russia's central bank's assets.

Australia became the latest country to announce it will fund the supply of lethal weapons to Ukraine to help it fight Russia. The move comes after Germany decided on Saturday to supply weapons to Ukraine, representing a major policy shift for Germany who prior supplied nothing.

Russian forces are struggling to advance shortly outside of the borders of Russia or Crimea.  There are reports of low morale among Russian troops and supply lines failing, with numerous videos of Russian vehicles running out of fuel and being stranded.

Ukraine's foreign ministry spokesman Oleg Nikolenko says their airforce has shot down a missile aimed at the capital Kyiv, by a plane that flew in from Russian ally Belarus.

Many strategists are shocked the Russia hasn't cut power, water, or internet from Ukraine yet, stirring up poor implementation strike protocol by Russian forces.

Ukrainian president invites foreigners to fight 'Russian war criminals'. President Zelensky put a call-out on his social media accounts inviting anyone to come and fight "side-by-side" with Ukrainians.

It had earlier been reported how Ukraine was honoring 13 soldiers it said were killed while defending Zmiinyi (Snake) Island from Russian attacks.... the famous "Go F*** yourself" response these border guards made to a Russian warship. New information suggests the unit may still be alive, according to a Facebook post yesterday by Ukraine's State Border Guard Service. "The SBGSU and the armed forces, like the whole of Ukraine, have received hope that all of Zmiinyi's defenders are alive," said the update. The government agency says it's working to identify the soldiers based on information about their possible current location. "We sincerely hope that the boys will return home as soon as possible, and the information received at the time of the attack on the death will not be confirmed."

It is scary because Russia is now threatening the world with nuclear warfare.  Belarus also voted that they will allow nuclear weapons on their soil today by 65% vote.  Belarus is a puppet state of Putin's Russia.

* Russia threatens nuclear action as Putin personally places Nuclear Forces on High Alert.

* Russia shelled the northern city of Chernihiv all night, Ukraine's State Emergency Service says

* The southern Ukrainian coastal city of Berdyansk is now in Russian control, according to its mayor. The Russians, he said, "informed us that all administrative buildings were under their control and that they were taking control of the executive committee building". "But under the control of armed men, I consider this proposal unacceptable. So we, as all members of the operational headquarters, left the building of the executive committee," he said.

* US intelligence says Belarus is expected to send troops into Ukraine as soon as Monday to fight alongside Russian forces that invaded Ukraine last week. It's autocratic government voted on Sunday to renounce its non-nuclear status - paving the way for Russia to potentially stage nuclear weapons there. On Sunday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that Belarus' authoritarian leader Alexander Lukashenko had pledged to him in a phone call that Belarussian troops would not be sent into Ukraine.

* Over 90% of Ukrainians surveyed in a poll this weekend said they support President Zelensky - a threefold increase from December last year.  In the latest video to his people, he was in full Ukrainian military gear. According to the poll, conducted by Rating Sociological group, 91% backed him, only 6% do not support him and 3% were undecided. Two thousands respondents from across Ukraine were questioned, though residents in the Crimea and the rebel-held areas in eastern Ukraine were excluded. When asked about the chances of Ukraine being able to repel the Russian assault, 70% said they believed it was possible.

* US Secretary of State Antony Blinken held a call with the foreign ministers of G7 countries, as well as Ukraine, in which he said the group was "supporting the Ukrainian people and imposing severe costs and consequences to hold Russia accountable for its war of choice."

* Over the weekend, over 3,500 Russian's were arrested by Russian police over protests against the war.  Russian authorities have deemed any type of protest illegal.  The Gorbachev Foundation put out a statement that read, in part, "We declare the need for an early cessation of hostilities and the immediate start of peace negotiations. There is and cannot be anything more valuable in the world than human lives. Only negotiations and dialogue based on mutual respect and consideration of interests are the only possible way to resolve the most acute contradictions and problems."

* The Russian ruble plunges to a new low against the dollar in the wake of severe sanctions, as analysts warn of a possible run on Russia's banks. Russian markets tank.  This massive plunge is expected to surge inflation rates to levels never seen before, or at least in a very long time.

* Russian's are running to banks to get cash, but finding many banks don't have any. As well Russia's central bank says it has ordered brokers to suspend the execution of all orders by foreign legal entities and persons who want to sell off their Russian investments, such as stocks and shares. The Bank of Russia also said it had yet to decide whether to open the Moscow Exchange, other than the forex and money market, on Monday.

* The EU is also closing its airspace to Russian aircraft and will ban Russian state media outlets Russia Today and Sputnik.  Member states will also take Ukrainian refugees and bypass the usual asylum application process

* Japan’s former Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has controversially suggested his country should consider allowing the US to base nuclear weapons in his country, following Russia's invasion of Ukraine. Mr. Abe also said he believes the US should make it clear to China that it will defend Taiwan if Beijing attacks the island.

* Russia bans a website with POWs data. A website created by Ukrainian authorities for the families of Russian soldiers who had been killed or taken prisoner in the Russian invasion of Ukraine was blocked by Russian authorities. The website publishes photographs or documents of the men for Russian families to find their sons. Ukrainian presidential administration adviser Oleksiy Arestovych said the website was “our gesture of goodwill towards Russian mothers”.  Russian authorities admitted for the first time on Sunday that there had been Russian casualties in the course of the fighting that began on 24 February, but did not give any figures. Ukraine says that 4,300 Russian soldiers have been killed since the start of the war. These numbers have not been verified.

* Turkey has said it will apply the terms of an international agreement that could see it block access to the Black Sea for the Russian Navy. Under the 1936 Montreux Convention, Turkey has control over the two straits that connect the Black Sea, which sits on Ukraine’s southern coast, to the Mediterranean. The convention guarantees the free passage of vessels belonging to Black Sea countries - like Russia - in peacetime, but allows Turkey to close the straits to all foreign warships in a time of war or if Turkey itself is threatened. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said earlier: “We have decided that the situation in Ukraine has turned into a war. We will be transparently applying the provisions of Montreaux.”

* A Russian commercial plane has flown into Canadian airspace, despite prohibitions placed by Canada preventing any Russian airplanes from entering its territory. Canada's transport ministry said it would review the conduct of Aeroflot Flight 111 and would "not hesitate to take appropriate enforcement action". Canada, along with several Western nations, moved to shut its airspace to Russia on Sunday in an unprecedented move targeted towards levying pressure on Moscow to halt its invasion of Ukraine.

Russian Disinformation In Full Swing.

An automatically scheduled article (I assume?) was published Saturday on a few official Russian state news outlets. It was an article that described what Russia wanted, now that they had taken not just Kyiv, but Ukraine as a whole. Something very close to "Endlösung der Ukrainefrage" was mentioned.  This was pre-written for what they assumed would have already been a war victory...

They quickly deleted it, but not before a bunch of people read it - and not before archive.org collected the "evidence" for us to read. Chilling.

The image is a translated version of the article.

Here is the "evidence": https://web.archive.org/web/20220226051154/https://ria.ru/20220226/rossiya-1775162336.html

It was located here: https://sputnik-abkhazia.ru/20220226/nastuplenie-rossii-i-novogo-mira-1037793073.html (I think they're the same article).

Unarmed civilians in the Ukrainian small town Dniprorudne stood in front of Russian tanks, blocking the street. The mayor of Dniprorudne, Jewhenij Matwjejew, talked to the soldier on the first tank - and they turned around!

This war is horrible enough as it is, but it's moments like this that give me hope humanity is not lost yet...

Something very close to "Endlösung der Ukrainefrage" was mentioned.
And that’s an official media (not some Facebook group), which supposed to be as neutral as possible instead of using such words. Also, their artist loves to make comics like «—The oil prices will never rise again! —I have one thing which makes everything rise!» ::|
They quickly deleted it, but not before a bunch of people read it - and not before archive.org collected the "evidence" for us to read.
Thankfully, Internet remembers everything, and all such medias are under constant monitoring to catch all these articles.

P.S. If the situation was not so dangerous, we could joke about long tables again.

^ That picture is the epitome of sadness, lol.

"Why is Putin so far away from us?"

"I heard he had COVID-19 put into him."

"For real?"

"Yeah, he had three space shuttles worth of that garbage injected into him."

"Apparently, he wants to force Zelensky to kiss him on the lips, so the virus kills him and Ukraine is done for."

"Why's Putin not dying, then?"

"It seems he's too dumb for his brain to actually register the virus."

"Ah, makes sense... after all, he tried to lower tensions with the US by giving a passport to Steven Seagal."

"I see... does Seagal have COVID too?"

"I don't think so, why?"

"I was just wondering why nobody sits around him either."

This is not intended to minimalize the whole Russia-Ukraine situation. I am truly concerned about all this and keep thinking about it daily. The above is simply me trying to give you at least a chuckle. I keep hoping for the people of Ukraine - and those of Russia who never wished for this - that this will end soon.
