Oh I use mineshafter. It's free and works amazingly. It even allows free updates.

I remember how proud I was surviving that first night in Minecraft.  The "newness" of it all and trying to find food, wood, wool to make a bed.  I remember when I finally got sheers to pluck wool from sheep, I was thinking I was king.

When I converted my dirt hut into a wood hut, I was so happy.  Hiding in my house, hearing the hisses and moans outside made me think I was so lucky to be inside.  Watching as the moon went down and the sun went up.

The first few Creeper explosions around my home bugged me so much, I patched them with dirt.

Fishing.  When I finally got to fish, I though I had endless supplies of food until I made my first garden with a fence... OH fences.  I fenced off areas around my house and kept the monster outside of them.  I got my armor and livestock, and made my house a home.  I felt truly accomplished.  No game has ever made me have a sense of pride and property quite like Minecraft.  I would place it as one of my favorite games of all time that moved me.

When I finally played multiplayer for the first time, and had friends, mind was blown. :)  Such an amazing game.  Games that provide feelings like that only come maybe once or twice in a lifetime.  I would love to go back and play the game as if it were my first time again.  Start fresh and have the same excitement as I built up.

I know those feels well. The game gave you purpose and accomplishment when you did a task for the betterment of your survival.

I've been playing Minecraft again!  I just started a new map yesterday to get those feelings that APD spoke of earlier.  I so love this game.

I was playing my modded survival. I had 29 diamonds, found the end portal, and was going to enter it soon. I had put all my items into a modded chest that could fit the amount of items I had. The next day, I was going to add to my command block world without mods on, and joined the survival world by mistake. Now all my items are gone, and I can't get them back because I didn't backup the save.

Well shit that sucks....
Learn from your mistakes?

On a similar note, I cannot open Minecraft, and now, the best world I ever had is probably gone.

That really stinks for both of you.

For LP, I would advise getting a real version of the game.  Like purchasing it, if you like it enough.  :)

No it's a tall building in the sky. It's dangerous to make as you're like over 80 blocks high to make it. And water is involved so if you fall down the chute you could drown. But yeah. Made it. And monsters are pushed by the water down the chute and they fall to their deaths. And I have little warp things and transport them to a chest to store all the goodies they drop.

I had a friend build something very similar to this.

In what is now known as "1st World," I had a friend build a tower that seems similar in nature, Leapingriver.

It was called, Jonville Tower (pictures linked).  It was an early hub for westward expansion, but as our server grew, we started following more realistic design trends in planning and development.  1st World grew massive, but then we moved to what we called, 2nd World, and it was even bigger.
