No offense, but I don't really care about licensed fifth wheels... does.... does anyone care?  I mean it makes no real difference. :(  But when they have new gearboxes, engines, paint jobs, new modifcation parts, those are things I like and that matter.  Sorry fifth wheels... sorry.
Well, licensed or not, the more detailed parts are always a good thing ;D. The older trucks (like my current orange Volvo) have a really ugly-looking fifth wheel, so, the developers try at least something to take out low-detailed parts from our sight.
I recently watched one ETS video from late 2016 and how bad the low loader trailers were back then!

Primitive straps, dirty texture instead of wooden planks — thank goodness at least the wheels were round. Now these trailers have the same detail level as user-available trucks and dont hurt our eyes ;D.
I've never been on the road yet where the new town in Spain will go. I will have to check it out.
Now this place looks like that:

It seems to be completely done, the only difference is unreachability ;D and crossed out arrow on the road sign.

Wow, that old picture of the game looks like a totally different game.  It almost looks cartoony.  Now the game aims more towards realism.

I can say most of US states present in this game don’t have as huge road network as Spain, so every addition, even the smallest, is very welcomed, especially if it contains nice scenery ;D.

Now the game aims more towards realism.
The funny thing is there are a lot of complainers  who trash this game for being not as realistic as they want. Not graphic, not system requirements, just «why I can’t walk around the truck, why these trucks don’t have a cabin light, why I can’t meet my hired drivers on the road, mememe»

Who cares if we can walk around the truck and meet our drivers?  Like... what are we gonna do?  Stand there and stare at them?  lol

^Do you expect any common sense from the dedicated complainers? ;D
Better to buy another 57X and enjoy what we have in the game now.

Oops, wrong trailer .
This is more like it:

A short testing says the new gearbox with lower first speed is really more comfy for heavy cargoes (well, it could not be otherwise ;D), although I’m still waiting for retarder, its more powerful than the engine brake after all.

I love the truck in blue!  Which is why mine is blue!

So I have been playing for quite a long time and now have $34 million, and I figured I could probably waste some money on having a bit of fun.  So I decided to buy some day cab trucks, and try to make them look somewhat sporty.  Here is what I came up with. Let me know what you think!

First the Freightliner Cascadia.

Next the Western Star 57X.

I tested them for hauling, even pulled some very heavy loads.  They worked good for regular loads and were very maneuverable.  Very heavy loads, they were able to do it, but slower, but they handled like a dream.

Two-axle chassis have both the best maneurability and the best price ;D.
Since the version 1.40 release I have bought a lot of such trucks, mostly for hauling double or triple pup trailers.

As for sporty look... Do you remember this default paintscheme for Renault Premium?

I think ATS should have something similar for their trucks ;D.

Also, if blue is already taken by @Captain Ridiculous (oh, I remember these screenshots, posted three weeks ago), should I leave it or try another colour?

Editing the existing paintscheme is free in *TS, so this repaint doesn’t hurt my wallet (actually, after buying this vehicle I have 2'515 dollars on my count, so, free paintjob is the only major thing I can do, lol) ;D.

I like the short axel pickup truck you have Captain Fantastic!  It looks really good.

Isn't red sort of "your" color, Tim?

If needed, I can use even the most basic colour (and the most popular ;D).

The four axle chassis has a little advantage, if you want to finally unlock the achievement from five year-old DLC ;D.

For example, my blue 57X with the same cargo and trailer is close, but can’t reach this number .

White looks okay.  I always think it looks too basic... to stock.  But it's okay when done right.  Haven't see anyone use that Pete in a long time.

Non ATS related but Truck related news... New Kenworth K220 for the Australian market.  It's interesting if you care about that kind of stuff.  Will we ever see Aussie Truck Simulator?  lol Probably not... I guess you never know?

Look at what we just achieved!!

In a September 8th stream, SCS's licensing director said they expect many new trucks to come soon, including some this year.

They finally uploaded the video, several days late!  Here it is.  There's actually a lot of interesting things they talk about.  I will listen to it later today and try to make some timestamps.  The developer, Oscar, is wearing a shift based off the flag of Colorado. :D  ^b-  EDIT: I listened but didn't make timestamps. :P

I listened to it too.  The best line is "I am sure there will be more trucks coming this year."   ^b-

The Kenworth K220 is being shown off in a very loud and vibrant green!  It was neat seeing the interior of it.  Bigger inside than I thought it would be.

Seeing the Australian truck was kind of interesting.  Thanks.

It's weird Kenworth makes flat-fronts for Australia, but doesn't offer them in the US where they are made.
