Now in some cases when it comes to new characters in franchises during later incarnations such as spin offs who end up replacing any previous existing characters. People tend to hate on replacement characters just because of how they replaced any previous beloved characters.

But here is one question I have, if you were to view a replacement character from a later franchise incarnation as his/her own character or when seeing the previous character appearing again or still being acknowledged such as how Disney brought back Lilo for an episode of the Stitch anime revealing where she has been all this time and acknowledged the Disney Princesses' original pets and animal companions' existence in the Palace Pets books, does any of that make you less hate on the replacement character or do you still hate the replacement character even with those previous points I mentioned?
